I bought version 2 and I believe it is a little easier to pair and also sounds a bit richer. The most important change, though, is that Bose has developed an app that works with this speaker which provides the user the capability to update the software that makes it work better. I am glad I made the purchase. Bose products have never disappointed me and I own many of them.
