Yes it is pricey. Yes there are way cheaper portable speakers on the market. BUT...this is the best sound and best speaker you will ever buy!!

Microphone feature is handy when attending calls. Noticed a mild hissing sound (possible mic feedback) at times even when audio is not playing. Overall happy with my choice.

Good value compared to other Bluetooth speakers. Durable cover. Had to factory reset it once, but their customer service is excellent and walked me through the steps.

The voice used is difficult to understand, battery life isn’t that great and the sound is mediocre and that’s coming from someone who is not a sound expert by any means. I’d return them but didn’t do it within the 15 day policy. Ah well. Lesson learned. They’re fine plugged in. Lots of announcing though when you do connect with Bluetooth. Every single time you connect it announces who is connected and what the battery life is. Also will talk to itself “Ready to connect” when you forget to turn it off off. Which is fun when you have a 4-year-old who is about to go to sleep… thanks Bose… Any way, our family is not a good fit for this speaker.

Thanks for your feedback. If you're looking for a smart speaker product, I would suggest you look at our Smart Home range as the SoundLink Color II would not be considered a smart product, this is a standard Bluetooth portable speaker.
This product uses the Bose Connect app, within your product settings whilst connected to the app you are able to turn off voice prompts if this is a feature you do not wish to have. You should receive a battery life of up to 8 hours at a typical listening volume. This is actually my second speaker like this. I bought one about 5 years ago and it lasted well. I am sure this one will, too.

The enclosed driver design allows it to be carried around and ease the worries of damaging the speaker driver.

They’re a good size and have great sound. The new ones have a charge that lasts a long time, quite a bit more than the older version.
