However, I was hoping that it could easily used by plugging in an aux cord instead of always connecting to bluetooth. It doesn't.

We can confirm there is an AUX input on the side of the speaker, with an AUX input button found on the top in the form of a Circle with an arrow.

Not a fan. Battery life is roughly 4 hrs compared to 10 on the Boom and the sound is Not as good. We use these guys a lot at home at the beach and in the water wit our boat!

This speaker will give you up to 8 hours of listening from a full charge. As it does sound like you are getting much less than this, I'd recommend checking the charger you are using. The speaker requires a charger that is rated for 5 vDC, 0.5 A, if you are using a charger that is not rated for this it may not be charging correctly!

Being that I own other Bose products I had high expectations for this speaker. The sound was not as loud as I expected. I purchased this speaker in May and it is now June and the speaker is not working, I will be returning it to Bose.

I think they sacrificed some of the oomph for a more durable package. Get a JBL at a comparable price point and you’ll be much happier.
