It’s cute, sound quality is decent at best. I just wish it would get loud

The Bose Color Link II is an awesome speaker with a big sound in a tiny little package. The exterior is coated in a rubberized silicone that gives it a very nice grip. It touts itself as being water resistant, but I wasn’t daring enough to pour a glass of water over it or anything. The “blue” is really more of a teal / aqua color. It wouldn’t have been my first choice in color, but it’s pleasant enough to the eye. The simplicity of its controls is both an asset and a drawback. Many of its functions are controlled using a single “multi-function” button. Long pressing allows you to make a phone call via voice dial. Short pressing while on a call and receiving another call will switch you to the next caller. Double tapping the multi-function button will allow you to switch between calls. Long pressing while on a call will switch you to your handset. Short press to accept an incoming call. And finally, long pressing will reject an incoming call. The controls are easy enough to work with the instructions sitting directly in front of you, but it’s going to be a little tricky getting used to working them from memory. I found myself accidentally short pressing at the wrong times or forgetting whether a long press or a short press was needed. I’m sure that this will get easier once I get past the learning curve. The manual with the instructions isn’t included in the box. Instead, you have to download Bose’ app and connect the app to the speaker in order to pull up the manual. Now to the sound quality. Let me start by saying that I am not an audiophile by any means. I enjoy listening to music, and I own several different playback devices; but I don’t consider myself a connoisseur of audio equipment by any means. That being said, I found the sounds to be impressively loud and not at all tinny. I took the speaker outside and cranked the volume. I was able to clearly hear the speaker from about fifty feet away (though it should be noted that the Bluetooth connection only extended about fifteen feet). The sound was clear, loud, and pleasant. I tested the mic by performing a series of “Okay Google” searches. The mic was able to clearly pick up my voice from multiple spots throughout a fair sized room. Whether or not I was facing the speaker made little difference so long as I spoke loudly and clearly. All in all, I was very impressed by this speaker. Given the size, I was tempted to dismiss this as just another Bluetooth toy. But given the sound quality and overall performance, I’ve come to realize that this really is a quality device.

Not bad but not that good not convenient and louder like Alexa

Before this, I was using a Beats Pill 2.0 for casual listening around the house while doing chores or while outside on the patio. The Pill did the trick, but I wasn't very impressed with the audio quality. I can say that the new Bose Soundlink Color 2 is a fantastic upgrade! I hate to jump on the anti-Beats bandwagon, but when you compare the Pill to the Soundlink, it's clear that you're just paying for the aesthetics and logo with the Pill. If you want the better audio quality between the two, go with the Soundlink. I love how amazing this little speaker sounds, even at higher volume levels, the quality remains fantastic. I don't know a better way to word it, but the audio sounds like it should be coming from a much larger speaker, Bose really did a fantastic job. There is one thing I liked over my old Beats Pill compared to the Bose Soundlink: a protective case. My Pill came with a simple protective case, while the Soundlink does not. If I want a case to store my speaker and keep it free from dust or for travel, I have to buy one straight from Bose (or go with a 3rd party via Amazon). It's not a deal-breaker, but I was a little disappointed. You can also use a Bose connection app from either the Apple App Store or Google Play with the Soundlink 2. The app feels a little unnecessary to be honest. My phone connected to the speaker right away (and was added as a trusted device to make future pairing easy) without the assistance of the app. I can control the volume through the app, but I can do that with the phone volume buttons as well. Plus, the volume control in the app shows as maxed out, while I can still press the physical button on the speaker to increase the volume further. Until Bose makes some updates to the app, it really feels pointless. I wouldn't bother downloading it. You can use the Soundlink as a speakerphone to make and receive calls, but the quality wasn't as great as I was expecting. I had to walk over to the speaker and really turn up the volume to hear the other person, and they told me that the quality on their end was sub-par (they knew right away I had them on speakerphone, but it sounded "worse than usual"). Since I mostly plan on connecting my phone to the Soundlink, I'll probably just take my phone out when I need to make/receive a call. PROS: * Lightweight * Great sound * Easy to pair with phone/tablet/computer * Decent battery life CONS: * The mobile app needs work * No included protective case * Phone call quality is not great

The only good thing is it pairs to the phone fast. Sound quality is ok for the bathroom

This speaker will surely satisfy the average consumer

Bought 2 speakers on sale and can only pair the two thru the Bose poorly rated app. All app reviews clearly state after trying to pair 2 speakers, each speaker quits working. All Bose products are exorbitantly priced and a total rip-off. They should make it simple and easy to pair two of their same speakers w/o having to download their crap app w/poor reviews. Go ahead and download it. It will ruin your ability to use even ONE speaker. Waste of overpriced money. Total joke. Never again.

Crap speaker. I normally love Bose but this one stopped working for some reason one day and nothing I do helps. It was a Christmas gift so not even used for 6 months

bose has quality stuff and this speaker is no exception. works great and probably will for years. not cheap

Looks neat and beautiful , immacutely designed for carrying anywhere and can fit in your small bags. Its easier to connect without any hassle and the voice prompts makes it a lot easier to find out the paired device. Controls are perfectly positioned on the top of speakers making them easily accessible without worrying about damging them. Most important part the sound quality, it is crystal clear even at higher volume and there is no distortion.Yes , it is water resisitant. Have been using them for almost a week faced now without any issues. Power on and the device is ready to play you favorite music within seconds. Bose has done a exceptionally well in bringing this product in the market. If you are looking for a wireless speakers with great sound and the ones you can carry around this one is definitely for you.

It’s a good speaker but not loud enough I purchased us to take to the beach in Puerto Rico and was not able to use it. I guess the heat made the battery die quick

This speaker is perfect! In the short time I have used it, I have used it throughout my house in both small and large rooms and on my porch outside. It is portable and super light. It was easy to set up. I have an iPhone and it seamlessly integrated with it and allowed me to quickly start playing music. When I first started playing music, I was immediately impressed with the depth and quality of the sound. Even at high volume levels, it is remarkably clear. For such a small device it puts out a huge amount of sound. At a fairly low volume level the sound reaches a great distance. The speaker has the quality I would expect from a Bose speaker. And as a bonus, it's waterproof. So if perfect for the pool, lake, or beach. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a quality, durable, versatile speaker.

sound quality wasn't as good as what i expect from bose.

Was disappointed with the sound quality and overall product. Also, after 7 months, the product stopped working. It is not charging at all. Feel like lost all my money.

Its not as a bose i expected.. sound is ok but not for its value

I had big hopes from Bose and it really worked but battery died after 1.5 years .

I have been looking at Bluetooth speakers for my brother's upcoming birthday, so when I had the chance to try this one at home for free, I was very excited. You need to charge the speaker when it arrives, and I think a wall charger should be included. It's definitely portable and seems pretty rugged - we tried it at our office, our house, and my son's house indoors and outdoors. We didn't have any issues with the device disconnecting at all, and actually seemed to have very simple and great connectivity to devices, more so than some other devices I've used. We did use it outdoors, the speaker says it's waterproof so I felt comfortable using in near the pool. My son was actually pressure washing one day, and used the Bose SoundLink Color Bluetooth® speaker II while doing so. He thought there was plenty of volume with good sound quality. He did mention that an equalizer built into the app would be a great addition. This speaker is definitely at the top of the list for my brother's birthday! Note: This product has been put at my disposal for no compensation and in order to share my honest and unbiased opinion. Once I have completed my testing it will be returned to the manufacturer.

This is a great bluetooth speaker. The blue color is almost retro (in a good way), and the texture feels nice. Pairing devices using the app was very simple. The audio quality is very clear, and bass is very loud. There was no noticeable distortion at higher volume levels. The ability to take calls, and water resistance are nice to have features.

Sound is ok but lacks the proper bass to match the sound
