Nice package and color, but average sound
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have had a UE Boom 2 the last few years, so was looking for a replacement and thought I would give this Bose a chance. Really liked the blue/aqua color. Unfortunately the sound quality just wasn’t there for me. It felt somewhat muffled compared to the crispness of the Boom 2. Moreover, the sound is only really clear directly in front of the speaker here; move your head up or down, and the sound quality degrades. It is capable of being very loud though. I ended up returning despite the good price.

You will have to purchase a charging unit for the micro USB cord. This may explain how Bose lowers its price to be competitive. Add 20.00 to the cost of the speaker. Oh, I called the company and they wanted me to register the product and they would send me a charger. Hasn't happened. Fool me twice.

I've never purchased a Bose product before, but I had "old" stereo speakers that were great. I'm so glad for the upgrade in Bose products, and I will continue to purchase them, as long as they are within my budget!

The sound quality was never anything special, and I think it's inferior to comparably-sized Ultimate Ears (UE) speakers. I had sporadic charging issues with the speaker along the way, and it will not charge at all. I even contacted Bose customer service & they sent me a wall charger for it, which made no difference. Look elsewhere -- you can get better sound quality & much better durability elsewhere at the same or lower price point.

The good: - The speaker paired easily with "Alexa" and worked well from across the room - The build quality on this speaker is very good and is what I would expect from BOSE The bad: - No wall plug! It only comes with a USB cable. I understand that this is a portable bluetooth speaker but I don't want to be limited to my computer to charge it. At this price point I would expect a wall plug - The sound quality at full volume is very poor. I always expect a slight amount of distortion when a speaker is pushed that hard, but this was too poor to listen to. Overall I expected more from this speaker and am disappointed.
