Another great Bose product
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As expected with a Bose product - this does not disappoint! It is a quality made wireless speaker!! It is weighs a little over a pound and is silicone wrapped, shock, drop and rust resistant wireless/Bluetooth speaker. It was packaged really well and came with a short charging USB-C cord - you will need a wall cube though. The Bluetooth connection is strong up to about 30 feet from the source. The charge lasts about ~12 hours of play time. The sound is small yet mighty and at higher volumes it gets a little distorted but not enough to say it is a negative. Using the Bose app was easy to load and connection to Bluetooth was seamless. I actually used the QR code and it took me right where I needed to be to access it. The portability of this speaker is a plus, at the pool, to the beach, hooking it to take on walks, rides etc. was super simple with the attached loop. It is dust proof and waterproof so using outside by the pool or at the beach was definitely a plus. It is easy to turn on with side buttons, volume and skip buttons too, and it can be used flat, hung up, or on its side and still have great volume.

Lightweight, plenty of sound, fast charging
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The package contains a USB-C to USB-A cable and the speaker long with standard documentation. It is a nice size and slipped easily into the side pocket of my backpack/laptop case. I was able to run for 8 hours without any problems and it charged in less than half that time. The speaker is well built and although light, has some heft due to the metal content - it feels like a quality piece of electronics, as one would expect from Bose. The unit is supposed to be water tight and float for half an hour but I don't intend on testing it! The programmable shortcut option to connect to Spotify was handy as I listen to podcasts regularly. I haven't had the need to use it for a phone call yet, but that is also a nice feature to have. The setup using the Bose App and the installation and use of the app in general was easy and intuitive. It took me only a few minutes from start to finish - very nice. I would recommend this for people who need a quality sound and call option when travelling or when listening out of doors.

Terrific portable speaker that can go anywhere!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'll admit up front- I have a big Bluetooth speaker and headphone problem. I have a huge collection of headphones and Bluetooth speakers made by a number of various vendors. I'm constantly trying out new models in search of that perfect look and sound. I'm approaching my review of the 2nd Generation Bose Soundlink Flex speaker as a long time user of the 1st generation model. I've owned the 1st gen since 2022 and have become a very big fan of it. The sound on the 1st gen was terrific, the build was solid, and it quickly became one of my favorite Bluetooth speakers out of my oversized collection. I was looking forward to what Bose had in store for the 2nd generation. The design of the 2nd generation Flex has not changed much. It's basically the same dimensions and weight. It's the same weather resistant rubber like coating with a handy strap attached. The only port on it is for the USB-C charging connection. They moved a few buttons on the top around, replaced the multi-function button with a new shortcut button, and added a dedicated bluetooth button but, this 2nd gen unit definitely followed the followed the old adage "if it ain't broke, why fix it?". It is nearly identical to the 1st gen unit, which is a plus. That's a good thing as the ergonomics of the 1st gen was great. The unit connects to the Bose App so you can configure the sound and reprogram the shortcut button. I thought the sound out of the box was great, so I didn't spend much time messing around the app configuring things. The shortcut button comes preset for stereo pairing two Bose units, but you can configure it for starting Spotify (which I don't use) or kick off your voice assistant. I didn't play with this much either. As for the sound, it continues to be outstanding for a speaker of this size. It has very rich sound, with perfectly acceptable base. The unit gets LOUD too without too much distortion. I've used it for indoor parties, outdoor parties, and as a speaker near out hot tub. It performed great in each location. I especially appreciated the weatherproofing on it as it has been rained on and accidentally dipped into our hot tub and kept on going. Do I have any disappointments with the Flex? A few, but they are very minor. I wish it had a 3.5mm input jack for hardwiring in sound sources that lack bluetooth. Not a huge issue for most people, I have some older equipment I would have liked to have connected to the unit. A 3.5mm jack may have made waterproofing it harder though. The only other issue I had was with the stereo pairing. You can pair two Flex (or a number of other BOSE speakers) together into a stereo pair. Great option to have, but I was unable to pair my 1st gen Flex with the 2nd gen Flex. This wasn't too surprising as I suppose the technology has changed over the years. It ws disappointing though. As an owner of the 1st gen, I don't want to get rid of it, have to buy a second 2nd gen unit to get stereo pairing when my 1st gen is still working perfectly. Again, small nit. Overall you can't go wrong with the Bose Soundlink Flex. It's got great sound, is rugged enough to take almost anywhere, and works great in the Bose ecosystem.

Good chore music
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Bose SoundLink is a great portable speaker! Holds a charge fairly well and has good sound quality for a portable speaker. Way better than just using the phone for Pandora. I use it when outside working on cars or projects to have some bumps and a little creature comfort while getting things done. The lanyard comes in especially handy for my purposes.

Pint Sized Party
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As someone who pretty much listens to music for a living, this speaker is FANTASTIC! Not only is it a super quick charge, easily portable, and very durable, but the sound is also phenomenal. The speaker is well protected in the box and neatly packed, along with a brief instruction manual and charger. It requires a USB-C type charger, so even if you don't remember to bring its charger somewhere, it’s super easy to find a replacement. Connecting the speaker to my phone was probably the easiest Bluetooth pairing I’ve ever had. I turned on the Bluetooth on my phone and turned on the speaker. It automatically popped up as a recommendation to pair. After pairing it offered me to download the Bose app which is super easy to navigate and can be used to set shortcuts for the speaker and edit the sound equalizer. It even suggests cool nicknames to call your speaker! (Mine is named Pint Size Party!!) The sound is so rich it fills up the whole room with sound. I highly recommend investing in one of these speakers, it’s fantastic!

Smaller package, bigger sound!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Bose Soundlink Flex 2 is a wonderful sequel for our ears to enjoy. How did Bose improve upon something already sensational? By being Bose, they improved the sound, lightened the package and kept it affordable. Charge time from zero to full took about 4 hours as advertised. Battery life was stated at up to 12 hours on a full charge. I found that this all depends on how loud you listen to the speaker. At 50% volume I averaged 11 hours and 27 minutes per charge. Sound quality was amazing and I expected that coming from a Bose product. The App was seamless and gave plenty of control options. The Bose Connect app allows you to tweet your music sound to however you desire, it has a built in EQ that has preset adjustments and personal options. This is also how you would perform any Firmware updates. The Soundlink Flex 2 can function as a speakerphone, you can connect it to another Bose bluetooth speaker for complete emersion in your playlist with stereo sound. I would absolutely recommend this speaker.

Decent sounding highly mobile speaker
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Bose Soundlink Flex 2 provides good sound quality for its highly portable form factor and good battery life. Only one unit was sent for testing and review, so two-speaker pairing was not tested, but the availability of this option as a product feature was considered in my rating. [ Sound Quality ] To my ears, the sound profile seemed quite ‘compressed’ out of the box. Using the equalizer in the Bose mobile app to increase the Treble balance partially corrected this. Mid to low bass is very noticeably lacking compared to, for example, the Bose Revolve+, but that’s understandable and expected from this form factor. While the sound quality is good for the form factor (once corrected), some cheaper competing products have similar sound quality. [ Product Design ] In my opinion, the external product design is clumsy. This speaker is designed to stand up on its side, but the backward tilt pushes back the center of mass without proper compensation, making it fairly easy to tip over. While the overall product is water resistant, the USB charging port is left exposed with no protective flap or plug. This can lead to accidental damage if attempting to charge while moisture is present (which can be hard to notice). Apparently, no consideration was given to the eyesore factor of the carry strap sticking *straight* out of the side. There are multiple ways this could have been done better, but I would have preferred a recessed anchor bar with an attachable (and replaceable) strap or lanyard. This speaker does not have a 3.5mm stereo input jack like some competing products (and other Bose portable speakers) have. [ Ease of Use ] Pairing the speaker with an audio source over Bluetooth is quick and easy, with a nice bonus of Fast Pairing on Android devices. The speaker did a good job of automatically switching between two different audio sources which were simultaneously connected. The one gripe I have here is that the multi-purpose ‘shortcut’ button, which by default is used to pair two speakers, can only be reconfigured using the Bose app, which is a downright silly requirement. I should be able to press and hold the button and press a volume adjustment button (as an example, among other possibilities) to cycle through shortcut modes. [ Battery ] The battery usage feels on par with what’s advertised (3 hours at max volume, 12 hours mixed usage), adequate for a highly portable speaker and serving my use cases. The 4-hour charging time seems a bit harsh, but if a charge lasts through the day, then it probably isn’t an issue.

Portable, decent sound, easy to use.
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Bose SoundLink Flex is a respectable portable BT speaker. I like the size of this speaker. I picked it up primarily for two reasons. 1. I have an old vehicle that doesn’t have BT, and I wanted to be able to listen to my playlists on the road. 2. I do a lot of fishing in a remote area. While my boat has a radio, there are only a couple of station options, and I don’t like them. This speaker lets me listen to my lists while on the water. It serves these purposes quite well. I found the speaker very easy to connect. I already had the Bose app. This speaker uses the same app as some of the other Bose BT equipment that I already own. Even if I hadn’t had it, it’s simple enough to download. I had no trouble locating the speaker in the app and completing the pairing process. The app itself is simple. You have a little EQ that you can use to dial in a sound you like. It’s a very simplistic EQ. You essentially just have Low, Mid, and High. Three sliders. There are some presets, but they are vanilla. I’m OK with that. It’s a small, portable BT speaker. You shouldn’t expect too much in the way of high-end sound tweaking. That about all you need the app for. You can pause, skip, etc, but I’m not sure why you’d ever do that in the Bose app rather than on the device or in your media app. The sound is pretty good. I didn’t get super excited about it, but I also didn’t really have much to complain about. I knew it was small, and therefore I had reasonable expectations. I’d say it met my expectations, but it didn’t do anything to blow me away. I guess I was hoping to be pleasantly surprised by a big name like Bose. I wasn’t. That said, it has a decent sound for it’s size. Overall, I’m satisfied. It’s feels well built. It’s heavier than I expected, but nothing you can’t carry around in a backpack. I don’t know how long the battery will last, but I’ve never run it dead, so it’s fine for my purposes. It works well as an auxiliary speaker when watching movies on a laptop. It’s a pretty good portable BT speaker. Just understand what you are getting, and I think you will be satisfied.

Always clear
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a SAHM, I use it to clean the house or listen to my podcast, usually I take it room to room. However I have used it for out door movie nights with a lot of people talk and the volume doesn’t disappoint! My best memory with the speaker had to been at my daughters (outdoor event) school trunk or treat party the sound didn’t travel far, but in my close proximity it was CLEAR even at its highest volume. PERFECT for small gathering with lots of screaming children. It’s powerful but not very loud or muffled.

It's a Bose!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have the Bose micro sound link, and it has worked well for many years, along with many of my other Bose products. I have been looking at this one for a long time, and I tried out a demo at a Best Buy store. I was blown away, and the price was good. I have had it for a few weeks, and it sounds great. It works very well with my Samsung tablet, and Chromebook when I'm listening to music or watching videos. I would absolutely recommend this wireless speaker to anyone looking for a great Bluetooth speaker, that isn't too expensive.
