The sound echos a bit, even after adjusting the sound on the app.

It would have been a perfect speaker with a tweeter. While the sound stage is wide it is not well defined. The bass over powers any highs. It's all mids and bass. I initially love the speaker until I compared it to the beats pill which was actually a real shocker since I am not an Apple fan at all! But Apple definitely nailed this product. I was also extremely disappointed in the Sony Ult Field One. The bass (which I absolutely love on Sony's headphones) sounds horrible choppy and The passive radiators sound like they are going to pop in not a good way. So close Bose.

Wonderful sound but somewhat hard to turn on and off due to its heavy rubber cladding. Switch often does not engage, and battery status is often garbled. Disappointing that this small glitch makes a return likely.

Bose portable speakers have always been a strength of the company. The Flex 2nd Gen is no different. Overall you are getting a reasonably priced, good sounding, portable bluetooth speaker with good battery life and some weather resistance. It makes a great device for work or play, inside or out. This speaker makes a great speaker for playing music with friends when you want something much better than a phone without a bulky less portable setup. The Flex 2nd Gen comes in small packaging with some basic paperwork and a short USB A-C cable for charging. The speaker pairs quickly via bluetooth you can also use the Bose app as a companion to the speaker. The app opens up additional functionality such as EQ adjustments, but the speaker can be used without the app if desired. You can also pair two speakers together with the "shortcut button" for stereo sound or what Bose calls party mode where two separate speakers play the same thing. Sound quality: Bose speakers virtually all have a pleasant sound without significant objections. The sound is clear with better bass than you'd expect for the size of the speaker. The volume can get quite loud. Vocals are clear and in general the sound is better than you'd expect for a speaker of this size. The speaker is also water resistant which makes it great for outdoor use. Overall easily recommended for its portable speaker use case.

I already own another speaker like this one. This is for a christmas gift, you can be wrong with this speaker.

Good sound and the expected Bose quality, not very loud

High quality performance for outside indoor and common spaces

The Flex is the best BT speaker in its class. The sound is very crisp and detailed with a slight bump in bass and clear highs and vocals when using the adjustable app eq settings. I found the default Bose setting a bit flat. It gets very loud only showing slight eq rollback on the low end frequencies at near max volume. This isn’t an audiophile sounding speaker but the sound quality is outstanding especially at this price. I have owned many and this is the best for my ears anyway. I imagine if you pair a second one the sound would be amazing. The physical controls are easy to use and understand. I also have a Bose portable home speaker which had held up many years so I expect the same from this one. It's rugged and great that it can be clipped to something for travel. As far as charging and runtime through 3 charges it has matched and slightly exceeded the Bose listed calculations. It can lay flat or upright. I think it sounds more full upright but it's nice to have options. There are so many portable speakers now it really comes down to sound and value and I can't imagine getting better than this at a sub $200 price point.

Love these apeakers but I'll admit, I like the stye of Bose products more than other companies.

The Bose Soundlink Flex 2 packs big sound in a small package. Very solidly built and ready for just about anything. With its IP67 rating you get dust proof and waterproof protection. Also, it floats in case you happen to drop it in water! With its tough silicone body you also get protection from drops. I love the sound of this speaker. Everything from jazz to hard rock sounds so good, and this speaker produces some impressive bass for its size. I’ve used plenty of other similar sized speakers and I must say the Soundlink Flex 2 is great. Amazing battery life and quality you would expect from Bose. Another thing like to mention is the Bose app. It works great and it was super easy to get the Soundlink 2 up and running. With just about everything being app-connected these days, it’s nice having a quality app to work with. There are a ton of speakers out there to choose from. If you get the chance, I recommend going to your local Best Buy and giving this speaker a listen. You definitely won’t be disappointed with this one. I definitely recommend this speaker!!
