Great Speaker, But Needs a Big Red Toggle Switch

Switch often does not engage, and battery status is often garbled. Disappointing that this small glitch makes a return likely.

The speaker's physical controls are designed to be easy to operate; however, if you're finding the power button difficult to operate, pushing down with a fingernail or thumbnail should help. Was a little short on base sound. Somewhat overpriced but the sales discount made it acceptable Would not buy without this discount.

The charging brick isn’t included as part of our commitment to reducing environmental impact most customers already have compatible chargers, which helps minimize waste. The great news is that your SoundLink Flex (2nd Gen) includes adjustable Bass, Treble, Boost, and Reducer settings, so you can fine-tune the sound to your liking.
To use the Equalizer:
In the Bose app, select your product then tap on the EQ button in the lower-left corner; or within the Sound section of the Settings menu, select Equalizer. Bass, mid, and treble level presets can be chosen buttons below. Graphic EQ changes can be made by pressing and sliding the white circle up or down. To return to the default EQ curve, tap Reset in the upper-right corner.

Decent but needs a tweeter!

While the sound stage is wide it is not well defined. The bass over powers any highs. It's all mids and bass. I initially love the speaker until I compared it to the beats pill which was actually a real shocker since I am not an Apple fan at all! But Apple definitely nailed this product. I was also extremely disappointed in the Sony Ult Field One. The bass (which I absolutely love on Sony's headphones) sounds horrible choppy and The passive radiators sound like they are going to pop in not a good way. So close Bose.

Great sounding and durable

The sound is very crisp and detailed with a slight bump in bass and clear highs and vocals when using the adjustable app eq settings. I found the default Bose setting a bit flat. It gets very loud only showing slight eq rollback on the low end frequencies at near max volume. This isn’t an audiophile sounding speaker but the sound quality is outstanding especially at this price. I have owned many and this is the best for my ears anyway. I imagine if you pair a second one the sound would be amazing. The physical controls are easy to use and understand. I also have a Bose portable home speaker which had held up many years so I expect the same from this one. It's rugged and great that it can be clipped to something for travel. As far as charging and runtime through 3 charges it has matched and slightly exceeded the Bose listed calculations. It can lay flat or upright. I think it sounds more full upright but it's nice to have options. There are so many portable speakers now it really comes down to sound and value and I can't imagine getting better than this at a sub $200 price point.
