The Bose SoundLink Max is a dense, yet very portable speaker. The sound is room filling, customizable in the Bose app, and out of the box provides a great experience. The speaker is not small, but not as big as you might expect. It is approximately 10.5” x 5” x 4”. It has a grippy rope and rubberized carrying handle. The handle gives it a playful look and is extremely practical. The blue color is really nice and subtle. Easy pairing on Android devices with Google Fast Pair worked great on a Pixel phone. It uses bluetooth 5.3 and supports high quality steaming on Android devices. It also paired easily with an iPhone and an iPad and sounded great. The battery life is stated at 20 hours, and I’ve been getting just over that, guessing it can vary a bit depending on steam quality and/or volume. You can also use the USB type C port to charge a device. There is also an aux port that could be used to connecting devices. The sound is really incredible. The bass is unreal from a device this size. Mid tones are clear and full, and upper tones are bright but not tinny. It fills a rather large room easily, and is great to have poolside. It also support IP67 with durability from splashes and short submersions. This is a portable powerhouse of sound in a premium product from a well known and trusted speaker brand. I easily recommend getting this if you are looking for a portable speaker.

When I first ordered the speaker, I didn't realize how tiny it was. So when I pulled it out of the box and realized , I wasn't expecting too much from the speaker but because Bose make great products, I thought it would sound good. I did not think it would sound like this! I have larger speakers that I've had for quite some time and they don't sound as blended as these! The speaker is so small and convenient and can go anywhere you go! If I decide to go to a picnic I no longer have to transport that huge speaker and place it outside in the area we are sitting. When is time to go, it's so much easier to grab the little handle and be on my way! My only negative is that for the app, hopefully they updated to add better EQ features than the ones that they have already. Bluetooth connectivity was extremely easy and fast that even though person who has the most problems with electronics Will easily be able to Connect this! I wish I could've gotten a black one, but the blue is a really nice color. If there are any Bose people who love their products, you would definitely love this speaker, and it is worth every penny!

Beautiful little boom box speaker. Doesn’t get super loud but stays clear to its top end. Perfect for in the bathroom for shower music and getting cleaned up. Also great for light music on the deck outside enjoying a drink and grilling. Battery life is fair.

This is the newest Speaker in the Bose Portable speaker segment and is a great speaker with a few issues. Inside the box: You get the speaker itself Manuals USB type C to type C cable and AC adapter As for the speaker itself it's easy to setup you on Android and iPhones. This speaker as far as I know is the first product that supports multi link so you can have two phones connected to it at the same time and switch between them both. The only problem with this is that it has no microphone so you can't use it as a speakerphone. Also this supports snapdragon sound so it supports Apt X adaptive but not the older apt x. So you can get only AAC, or SBC on the major Android phones out like Samsung or Google. Of course you can only get AAC on iOS devices so this isn't an issue if you own an iPhone or iPad. Onto the battery life they say it has a 20 hour battery life and about 3 hours if you blast it. I like that Bose gave us that number as well . As far as sound goes it gets loud and the bass is decent . I wouldn't say it gets a ton of bass tho .it's also IP67 rated so you don't need to worry about bringing this outside though. .my issue with this speaker is the MSRP of $399. I have heard speakers that just sound as good if not better for under $200. At MSRP it's hard to recommend this speaker unless you don't mind the premium for the Bose name.

As with most Bose stuff, its quality sound. Clarity, sound, etc is great. But $399?? Nah.. it's price point should be $199 at best.

so, i currently have the Jbl boombox 3 and wanted a speaker a little more portable..so i asked my father to purchase this speaker for me and i’d pay him back…but when i got it and played some music, the bass was actually pretty decent until about 60-70% or higher volume..the bass starts to get kinda messy and pretty bad when going above these volume levels..and for 400$..? i’d suggest you save up an extra 100$ and get the Jbl Boombox 3. Im sure most of everyone will enjoy this speaker tho..but if you’re a bass-head, like me and really want that “thump” in every song, i suggest saving up for the Jbl boombox 3, or wait until the boombox 4 realeases…

Perfect portable speaker. Sounds amazing of course because it’s a Bose.

I wouldn't waste my money. It can start to have distortion! Might try to take this back or mail it back to my mobile company. I'm sure a jbl xtreme 4 would be way better. I know I'd perfer my jbl flip 6 ($89 when i got it and its way smaller) over this even.
