I have used Bose for years and the first portable speaker that I bought from Bose lasted around twenty yes, 20 years! It is a bit heavier than I was thinking it would be but it is a solidly made product. Great battery life too.

The sound only seems marginally better than the Flex, but the cost is 3 times as much. Quite a bit larger than the Flex, but the sound is still good for its size. Playing two of the Flex together is cheaper and a better experience though.

Posted .Hi John, I'm happy you like the Bose sound in general! It's true that some customers prefer the Max, while others go for the Flex. One advantage the Max has is the AUX port, which the Flex doesn't have. Also, the Max can be played for slightly longer before it needs charging (20 hours at moderate volume). I purchased 2 of these speakers. They were a bit expensive. Once you use them, you will definitely see money well spent. You can see and hear the quality of sound and engineering that went into these speakers. Paired up, they are amazing in stereo mode. I would purchase them again hands down.

The low frequency sounds really rumble everything, even when I'm holding it up from the surface. The high frequencies are top notch. Currently using it for my portable desktop setup and it's been a blast!
