Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.so, i currently have the Jbl boombox 3 and wanted a speaker a little more portable..so i asked my father to purchase this speaker for me and i’d pay him back…but when i got it and played some music, the bass was actually pretty decent until about 60-70% or higher volume..the bass starts to get kinda messy and pretty bad when going above these volume levels..and for 400$..? i’d suggest you save up an extra 100$ and get the Jbl Boombox 3. Im sure most of everyone will enjoy this speaker tho..but if you’re a bass-head, like me and really want that “thump” in every song, i suggest saving up for the Jbl boombox 3, or wait until the boombox 4 realeases…

It's true that the sound can begin to distort if the speaker is used at very high volumes, e.g. above 70%. Might try to take this back or mail it back to my mobile company. I'm sure a jbl xtreme 4 would be way better. I know I'd perfer my jbl flip 6 ($89 when i got it and its way smaller) over this even.
