I'm not a Bose fanboy at all but this speaker is fantastic. I think at one point I owned 15 Bluetooth speakers so I have a good idea of what I want out of a speaker over a wide range of sizes. Everything about the Max is perfect. The bass is solid. I can't believe they fit all this sound into such a small package. The build quality is perfection. The Bluetooth is rock solid. It connects instantly every time. Handles multiple devices no problem. The price is steep so maybe wait for a sale in the future. But even if you pay full price I don't think you will have buyers remorse. I would love if the app EQ was 5 band instead of 3 band but I would not change anything about the speaker itself. So tempted to get another one once they add stereo pairing.

I love this thing. Great sound quality, really loud for the size and the bass is crisp and clear. Highly recommend. Battery life is impressive and can even charge devices using port.

Rock solid sound. I love this Bluetooth speaker. Have great range and connectivity. Sound is very pleasing. I compared this with Sony and Sonos. Sound wise I like this one better. May be the personal preference but with Bose you can never go wrong. Super portable and feels very good in hand.

Pleased with this purchase. I own several portable Roland sound systems with great sound, but they are heavy and take up a lot of space. This Bose Bluetooth speaker is small, lightweight, rechargeable, and sounds great. I chose to use the Bose over the July 4th weekend because it is fully capable without the bulk and weight of my other sound systems. I may buy another to have stereo. Worth the investment, would buy again.

This speaker is loud. It doesn’t have its own volume, but it has volume buttons you can use on the speaker. The bass on the speaker is amazing! It works for everything. I’m going to buy a second one so that I can sync them up and have more sound. It’s extremely durable, easy to use, light weight, and it even hangs on stuff. I’ve used it while fishing, driving, watching shows on my laptop, and working on my vehicle. They also have a great app you can use as a remote, although it’s not beneficial if you’re playing stuff off your phone. I hesitated at buying it because it’s so small, but it’s definitely worth it!

The SoundLink Max bolsters Bose’s reputation that “If it’s a Bose, it sounds awesome.” A three-band equalizer is included in the smartphone app. It has a few presets, but also allows manual setting of bass, midrange, and treble. Once pairing has been established, it connects automatically on power-up. A second device can be paired, and you can switch between the two. The thick, comfortable carrying handle just barely kept the speaker from fitting in the space I had intended. The handle is easily detachable, so that wasn’t a problem. The sound quality is unbelievable for a device this size. The downsides are few but not severe: FIRST: The only instructions actually included with the unit is inside the box. As you can see in photo 1, you are instructed to 1) charge the unit (without telling you exactly how you know when it is fully charged), 2) press the power button, and 3) connect to the unit with your smartphone and download an app for it, using the QR code. In my experience, Bluetooth devices need to be connected fairly quickly, before the pairing times out. This is exactly what happened to me, as I had to sign into the newly downloaded application, go back to my settings to select the unit, etc. Download and set up the app FIRST. SECOND: There is no owner’s manual. There was a 24-page booklet with regulatory information in seventeen languages. At the top of the first page, there is a QR code linked to Bose’s support website. [see photo 2] The website has everything, but you have to follow at least a couple links for every piece of information. Fortunately, it is not terribly difficult to find the link to the 40-page Owner’s Guide, but a link to that would have been very useful without having to chase it down. THIRD: When powering-up, the speaker “thumps” and announces its battery level. It is annoyingly loud. The announcement can be disabled in the Bose smartphone app, instead playing just the “thump” on power-up. It is still loud, but not as obtrusive. Overall, the SoundLink Max is an incredible speaker. Typical for Bose, the sound quality is unmatched in any other device in its class.

The sound quality out of this little speaker is right on par with the Bose brand name. It is small, lightweight, and very portable. There's a soft clip on the back that makes it easy to secure the speaker to my backpack or camping gear so it stays safe and out of the way. Seems like such a small thing, but I also really like the surface texture. It's smooth but not glossy (no part of this speaker feels like plastic), and the texture makes it much less likely to slip on surfaces. Overall a great buy for the price, and I'm really happy with this purchase.

I own many Bose speakers and this portable speaker is awesome. For the size, the sound quality is clear, loud, battery life is good and indicator tells you the battery life. Would recommend purchasing a carrying case for easy travel. We took it on our Hawaii trip, excellent purchase, do recommend.

This is my second Bose speaker of this same model. It's not cheap, but the sound, battery life, and the fact that it's waterproof and the materials are of very good quality make up for it. So, I recommend it.

I tried many speakers before landing on this one and I was not disappointed! I absolutely love the Bose SoundLink Max. The sound is powerful, clear, and the bass hits perfectly without being overwhelming. It fills any space—indoors or outdoors—and the battery easily lasts all day. It feels premium, rugged, and worth every penny. This is hands down one of the best portable speakers I’ve owned.

I was torn when i was in the market for a party speaker which one i should get. The Bose SoundLink Max or the JBLPartybox 110. I listeend to both speakers in Best Buy and decided the Bose sounded a lot better. Its smaller and more portable, but still packs a punch. The battery life lasts for an extended period of time and its water and dirt proof where i feel like i can take it anywhere. Woild 100 percent recommend this speaker to anyone.

This is probably my favorite speaker I've ever purchased from Bose. The highs are crisp and the lows are thunderous. This speaker honestly takes every party to the next level. I mostly use it as background music at family parties but its really convenient having this speaker get as loud as it does. Super versatile and I really LOVEE the top handle. It is made of such great quality and it feels so comfortable to carry this speaker around with the top handle. Battery life is also pretty amazing. Used it at a family party for over 5 hours and only got it down to 70%.

Lets get the elephant in the room out of the way. This BT speaker is stupid expensive. But…. If you can afford it, it sounds amazing given its size. Its has a smaller footprint than the JBL Xtreme and it blows the JBL out of the water (as it should for $150 price premium). I’ve seen some Amazon reviews saying bass response is disappointing. That’s ridiculous. Bass is nice and tight. The entire soundstage is linear. It not bright and its not boomy. Yes, some bass is lost if listening outside. But thats the case with just about every BT speaker except JBL boombox. Hoepfully with time some deals will come out. I’d say its a deal at $325 and a bargain if it ever falls to $299.

I love this device. Sounds good and long battery. Very portable with the strap that is very strong.

Full sound in a variety of settings and awesome battery life. This unit has worked great in hotel rooms when travelling, and did a great job at the beach. I like how light weight it is also. Easy to carry to the beach and back, easy to fit ina backpack.

This is the perfect speaker for on the go. We bring it to the beach, on the pontoon, outside during yard work, and throw it in the suitcase during travel, and never have to worry about it breaking. The case is very durable and waterproof. The sound is amazing for such a small speaker and even has decent bass. Another added perk; I also own a Bose Revolve speaker and the two can be paired for surround sound which sounds great.

I Love, Love, Love this speaker...Bose knows how to make it's products sound incredible...I bought this because I needed something light weight to use at work, this speaker is perfect...It's loud, the sound is clear, it provides me with what I need..Has a strap, I hook it on my apron...the battery life is Strong, I use it off and on all day at work between 10 & 12 hours...since I strap the speaker on my shoulder I only need the volume at half or less, that holds the battery life longer...

This is my 2nd Soundlink Max I've purchased. One i use on my ATV and the other was a gift for my father. We both love them and have found superior quality of sound with Bose. If you want loud quality sound with extremely long battery life at max volume, this is what you want!
