It was a little more than the others, but worth the price. I had a comparable speaker from another manufacturer that I used at home, but wanted another small speaker so I could listen to music at work. The Bose speaker makes the other sound so bad!

I think bose gave up bass for clarity with this one. If you are into bass, this may be a little thin for you, if you just want something portable and somewhat loud, this will be a great choice.

Also the holiday price of $79 was a double bonus. Bose is a great company and I'm sure that it will work great. Previously I had bought a JBL and returned it because it was not loud. This one definitely has more volume.

One thing I look for is weight so when I fly I’m not exceeding baggage weight limits. For the size and weight this Bose speaker has amazingly full and clean sound. I haven’t experienced any distortion. It has balanced sound through the range.
