Bose never ceases to amaze me with their products. I hate to sound like a “fan boy” but man…quality and performance is what counts and Bose takes it to the max with the Soundlink Max! I cannot not believe the range, clarity and bass that bursts from the speakers in the Soundlink Max. I wanted to replace a speaker that I had in my garage for projects due to environmental damage. The previous garage speaker had a critter that stored seeds and made a nest in the subwoofer opening! Ruined! IPX proofing is important on an outdoor speaker! Soundlink Max is IPX6… No critter, no water or dust gonna stop Soundlink from brining the tunes. IPX6 rated protection is extremely waterproof but not submersible. It can take rain, splashes or a spilled beverage! It’s ready for the beach, pool or adventure! NOTE: if you get it wet…let it dry COMPLETELY before trying to charge it usb! No hair dryers either. I don’t like reading manuals…but Bose kept it simple on the app so I would recommend checking it out to maximize your Soundlink Max. It also is usb C for charging which I really love. You can also charge your phone from it but note that it will decrease the 20 hours or play. Bose also makes a mention that if you are using max sound setting the 20 hours is greatly reduced as one would expect. To help with battery, if you leave it on accidently, after 20 minutes it will auto shut off which is nice. I also really love the premium material of skin, It feels soft but slip resistant if you have wet hands. The buttons are responsive. You can turn the volume up and down and play and pause on the speaker itself….BUT NO NEXT/BACK SONG BUTTON! That’s definitely a design misstep or bad design choice but totally forgivable. I use my phone most of the time anyway. The speaker sets solid on anything you set it on…beach towel or beach bag. While looking at the manual in the Bose App, I discovered you can change the handle with ease to different color rope design! I like that little touch. I also like the ergonomic handle… feels good and solid in the hand or to use it to tie on the boat somewhere or a canoe on a float trip! I like the app Bose has. I had the app with my BOSE Headphones and the Soundlink Max synced right up no problem. You can play with the EQ if you want…I found the factory set is the best for me. Back to the sound…Just world class. I love music and I have too many headphones and speakers to be honest but I like having the right device for the right job….For summer fun or out door adventure…BOSE SOUNDLINK MAX is by far the way to go. It completely fills my back deck, garage or any room in my house up with full rich, clear and crisp sound with bass that seems impossible from such a small device with no visible subwoofer or tweeters!!! So easy to transport anywhere you want to go! Loud for a party or soft for ambience….just amazing. Not to mention the rich warm conversations from podcasts. I absolutely love the Soundlink Max!

Without question, the SL Max provides great sound out-of-the-box dominating speakers twice its size and form factor. With very few shortcomings, it will be my go-to speaker for beach/picnic outings due to its space filling soundscape and portability. Performance- Rich, full sound with a great balance of treble and bass. No peaking on high volumes and easily able fill a room and/or cover a space in a mid-size gathering. App based EQ can further implement a specific sound profile to match different genres of music. My overall rating is specifically tied to its robust performance. Size/ Portability- A lot packed into a little. For comparison, it's roughly the size of a Fiji water bottle and easily able to fit into any backpack without hogging too much space. With that, the control panel buttons are sized just right, even for my thick fingers. Another high point. Build- When you first grab the handle, you may be slightly surprised at how heavy the capsule is. With that weight comes confidence in the build. This is a solid, sturdy road companion. I have no issue toss around, getting wet, or placing in the sand. A downside it there are no covers for the power or aux inputs, but there is a warning system for charging. If there is water detected, the led will flash until dry. In any event Bose recommends fan usage for drying/clearing debris, so I can still feel confident in taking it wherever I boldly go. This goes for the handle as well. Very sturdy, without the need to be delicate. Battery- The first 10% of the fully charged battery disappeared after about an hour and some change, which I assumed I was going to get roughly 10% per hour. But, I've been at 80% for well past that metric which gives a solid plus for battery life. Of course, the louder the play, the shorter the battery life, but for sporadic usage, the battery has surpassed satisfaction. Finish- This is where I find one of my main issues. The finish of the Max is a rubber based matte coating. While I know it helps with durability, it is terrible for keeping your speaker looking its best. All knicks, dust, specks, marks, etc. show on the surface and are not easily removed. So, if you're going to put this speaker to hardship, let it be known it will look the part over time. Also, I have known such finishes to not do well over time with oxidation. Only time will tell, but this is/has been my experience. App experience- Easily connected to several BT sources with/without the app. App adds EQ and quick settings so it will be advantageous if you like to tinker with your sound. The app has been improved since my last foray with the S1 Pro. So far, dependable and useful when I choose to use it. A few things to wrap up. The first is the Shortcut button. It is promoted as programmable, but the only choices are for the AUX and Spotify. I'm hoping that can be expanded through a software update at a later date, as of writing this, it is simply a disguised "source" button. I would love to set the button to my preferred music app of choice. Second, there are no in-call options. No mic or speaker output of calls. That can be a hit or miss feature, and they chose to exclude it here. When you take a call, music stops, call is taken through handset. Once call completes, music automatically resumes with no interaction needed. Not an issue, but is one of those features that should be noted. In closing, The Soundlink Max lives up to the boisterous claims and satisfies just about all of my needs and wants in an on-the-go speaker. A worthy companion.

The Bose SoundLink delivers exceptional sound quality for its size. The sound is clear, crisp, and balanced, with rich bass that you wouldn’t expect from a portable speaker. Whether you’re playing music with heavy beats or more acoustic tunes, the speaker adapts and provides an immersive listening experience. There’s little to no distortion even at high volumes, which is a testament to Bose's engineering. Design and Build The design is sleek and modern, with a premium feel that you’d expect from a Bose product. The speaker is compact and lightweight, making it easy to carry around for trips, outdoor activities, or simply moving from room to room. It’s also made with durable materials, so I feel confident using it in various environments without worrying about it getting damaged. Battery Life Battery life is impressive, offering up to 12 hours of continuous playtime on a full charge. This makes it great for long listening sessions, whether indoors or outdoors. Charging is quick and easy, and the speaker also features an easy-to-read battery indicator, so you always know when it’s time to recharge. Connectivity The Bose SoundLink pairs seamlessly with my devices via Bluetooth, and the connection is strong and stable even at a distance. It also supports voice prompts and can easily switch between multiple devices. For hands-free operation, the speaker includes a built-in microphone for taking calls, which works well during calls, offering clear audio without distortion. Water Resistance One of the standout features is its water-resistant design. It can handle a bit of splashing or rain, making it a perfect companion for outdoor activities like hiking, beach days, or poolside lounging. Conclusion Overall, the Bose SoundLink is a top-tier portable speaker that combines high-quality sound, durability, and portability. It’s ideal for anyone looking for premium audio in a compact, versatile package. Whether you’re listening at home, outdoors, or on the go, this speaker is sure to impress. The price point is definitely justified by its performance and build quality. If you’re in the market for a portable speaker, the Bose SoundLink is an excellent choice.

We all have come across multiple small portable speakers and am sure everyone owns a few of them. Bose soundlink micro is a small portable speaker but with a difference - excellent sound. The packaging itself is as simple as it gets. The box includes speaker and a micro usb charging cable. The chaging indicator has 5 leds that turn solid when the speaker is fully charged and lasts around 6 hours of playtime. The speaker has a built-in strap that works really well when attaching to a bag or to a bike handlebar. It is really good quality that seems will last. The top has 3 buttons - dedicated volume up, volume down and a multifunction button that changes function based on what you are using the speaker for. WHile playing music it can be used to skip forward or go back and in call mode it can be used to answer calls. The side of the speaker has the bluetooth pairing button as well as the power on/off button. The speaker itself is rated at IPX7 waterproof and works well. The sound has excellent base that does not fade at high volume. The audio quality is crisp and makes this speaker a no brainer. This little bose speaker has raised the bar for all micro speakers.

Best all in one portable sound system for fidelity, quality, durability, esthetics. Heavy, built like a tank. Really want 2 for the stereo sound. AMAZING sound. Very long lasting battery for multiple days of constant use for needing to recharge. You can charge over devices via USB-C port. Paid under $300 and it's currently selling for $340-400 which SUCKS. Need this at $300 or less. Took it all over puerto rico on vacation. Heavy! Again but better than most home systems by itself

Huge sound from this tiny speaker!

I am so impressed that a speaker this small can produce such great sound! This speaker blows away any other mini speaker I have ever owned. The sound is rich and the bass sounds great. The speaker is waterproof and encased in rubber so it will hold up to picnics and pool parties but I like to listen to it in the house too. It's the perfect bathroom speaker and it's great in the kitchen while I'm making dinner. It's very lightweight and has a stretchy rubber strap on the back so you can hook it on almost anything. The app lets you name the speaker, check the devices it's currently connected to, pair two speakers in Party Mode and set auto timers. You can control the volume from the app or directly from the speaker. When the speaker is paired to my smartphone it acts as a speakerphone and the sound is very good. There are two buttons on the speaker, on/off and Bluetooth. When the speaker is first turned on it tells you how full the battery charge is and what devices it is connected to. It remembers the last two devices it is paired to and you can clear devices and keep them in memory for next time. With the amazing sound quality and compact size, I use this speaker daily and in many different places. Definitely recommend this little speaker for its great sound quality and portability.

Bose micro is one of the smallest portable speaker that I have owned so far and I think this is the one that has impressed me the most. The sound is just amazing (it's actually comparable to it's big brother Soundlink Revolve). I didn't hear any distortion even at loudest sound settings. It has a very useful, tear-resistant carry-on strap which allows you to strap it practically any where. The "bass" port is at the bottom so you will get the best bass performance if you put it on a flat surface. It's IPX7 certified that means it will survive a drop and full submersion in water. It's small enough to fit it in your pocket (it's a bit on the heavy side though). I am using it as speaker in my home office and have paired it with my Dell XPS desktop and I am very happy with it's performance.

The sound quality is decent. I use with my iPhone and I never put the volume above 80 percent or you will lose the base when listening to music. Much better with spoken word listening like podcasts and talk radio. Not the biggest fan of the strap as it has already started to lose elasticity after only a couple of stretches. Also the hook doesn’t hold that well without really hard tension and comes loose on its own. Definitely not the most secure like the carabiner on other speakers. Also it took damage pretty quickly on the back grill, not even sure what cause the damage. Good small speaker but definitely wait for sales.

I just got this new Bose portable speaker and it was designed to go with you everywhere. Main portability features are 1) small built with great sound, 2) weather/waterproof, and 3) excellent battery life. Don't be fooled by the size, it has a good sound for portability. It is not heavy and easily straps to any item, my kids love to carry it strapped to their backpacks. Note that this speaker only has a Bluetooth connection and it doesn't any aux connection. This could be a problem if your device doesn't have Bluetooth. This shouldn't be a major issue since most consumer high-tech electronics are being made with it. Also, you must download an app to be able to use the speaker. So if your phone doesn't have enough memory to download another app you might have an issue. One great option that the speaker has the ability to use any mini USB connection to charge it. I just hate it when a power cord gets misplaced but this speaker can use any mini USB charger. The kids truly enjoy this portable speaker.

I've held off on acquiring a Bluetooth speaker for quite a long time. After seeing the pros and cons of those owned by friends, I decided to give the Bose Soundlink Micro a try. I'm really pleased with this little guy. It has the sound quality we've come to expect from Bose. Nice midrange, highs that aren't tinny and decent bass (actually exceptional bass for its size). IThough sized for personal use, the volume has enough oomph for others to enjoy it while at pool party or hiking/biking. You can control the volume via your source (phone, computer or other Bluetooth origin) or via two indentations/buttons on the Bose. The Soundlink is covered in a satin silicone coating for resilience and waterproofing (IP7!) This means you can have it outdoors in the rain, or accidentally drop it into a puddle, ice chest or your drink (you know you have!) and it comes out like a champ. Of course, you shouldn't drop it because it has an integrated flexible strap allowing you to wrap it around a handlebar, backpack strap, etc. Another cool feature is that the Soundlink has a microphone so you can use it as a speakerphone. It looks good enough for an office environment. Pretty cool.

This Bose speaker absolutely blow me away when first using it. I was very surprised by the sound based on the size of the speaker. I was a bit unsure how it would sound before the speaker arrived. But it sounds absolutely phenomenal. The bass is quite noticeable and there is a good thump to it. But it could be a little stronger overall. All treble and mid sounded very clear and crisp. Even when taken to the max volume the speaker did not sound crackly or raspy. The build quality is very good, everything feels really nice in your hands and it has a nice weight to it as well. I also really liked the silicon rubber strap on the back. It made it very useful when riding my bike. I felt safer because I was able to listen to music while being aware of the surroundings. Also, the IPX7 water resistant rating came very handy. This is the first speaker I was able to bring into my shower and not worry about it getting little wet. So, overall this is a very powerful little speaker that you can bring almost anywhere without the worry of destroying it. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a nice sounding speaker in this price range.

Bose SOUNDLINK Bluetooth speaker may be small in size but its big in sound. Standard micro USB charging port (Li-ion batteries). Charge indicator LED s, and voice annunciation of charge level when you unplug the charging cord from the unit. Great features: * Deep bass sound, clear timber, excellent for music listening and speech. (Sample: DIDO 'here with me') * Waterproof ( I'll take BOSE's word for it!) * Palm sized unit, with rugged strap to hang it from your bike, umbrella, lawn chair, tent pole, whatever. * Quick charge with option to auto sleep through app settings. * Bluetooth connected phones can be answered and unit used as hands free speaker. * Effortless Bluetooth connectivity. CONTROLS: * Connect to Bluetooth * Slight depression so you can find the control buttons quickly without looking * separate up-down volume buttons * Center button to skip forward or backward in you music play list. * On/Off button My unit asked for a software update, which finished fairly quickly while it initially charged. Final word, I am truly amazed by the sound!
