And, you must download an app to use thru Bluetooth, which is annoying. I prefer aux plug-in portable speakers, not one where one must download an app. Enough already.

Posted .Sorry to hear of your disappointment with the SoundLink Micro speaker, Dawn. Please make sure your connected Bluetooth device is turned up high, in order to deliver plenty of volume to the speaker. Also, while we recommend using the Bose Connect app, the app isn't strictly necessary - you can just use your phone's native Bluetooth if you prefer. Warm regards, Fiona M. - Bose Customer Support

I also connect the speaker to my TV for Gaming and is very loud Big Sound on small package so far loving it.

Also the holiday price of $79 was a double bonus. Bose is a great company and I'm sure that it will work great. Previously I had bought a JBL and returned it because it was not loud. This one definitely has more volume.

I was a little concerned when I saw the low price, expecting the quality to be lacking but it was not. My daughter was leaving for college and wanted something to play music on when she was in her dorm and this was the perfect size for her for the perfect cost.

However, within the very short time and few uses, I found the speakers to become distorted quickly and permanently. The sound cracks at just about every volume and distorts the sound. I never played these close to loud enough to damage the speakers and have kept the volume about middle at most. These are just terrible quality and I do not recommend them at all. I have had my replacement for only a few days and maybe put about 10 minutes of sound through them before they went bad. I will not be getting a third.
