This is my second Bose Soundlink Mini (I had the first generation) and this speaker keeps getting better! The sound is absolutely amazing, which is expected from a Bose product. The bass on the previous model was a little much, but it seems like Bose has perfected the sound. Now you can charge this with any micro-USB cable (instead of the previous Bose proprietary cable) and the battery life has improved. Even better, Best Buy delivered this speaker to my door the next day for free. Overall an excellent Bose product, and I would definitely buy this again.

Purchased this (even though pricey) expecting quality sound. When it wasn't cutting-in-and-out....it sounded good. However I ended up returning it due to this issue.

The reviews made us think the sound from the smaller version would be better. But if your using it outside, it does not meet expectations. More like an item for indoors or a small space, not filled with loud people.

The sound is decent but the real issue is that the unit will often not power on unless it is hooked to the cord. The unit is fully charged but if unattached from the cord it will not power on. If you hook it up to the cord, you can then turn it on and unplug it. With this issue you cannot take it anywhere that it cannot be plugged in, just so that you can turn it on. The battery will work for several hours once you have the unit turned on. Bad news for anyone wanting portability.

It's hard to get a feel for these while testing them in the store as the wide open spaces and background noise are not the same environment you will have at home. That said I spent a lot of time in several stores listening to the various bluetooth speakers and finally decided on this one. I'm very glad I did. The sound from this little guy is superb! I travel on occasion and it's easy to toss in my carry on and it provides more than enough sound to fill a hotel room at normal volumes. Put it in the bathroom (with all those hard surfaces for the sound to bounce off) and it really shines! I use it at home as well when we have guests over for dinner and want some background jazz and it works great. I don't think you would want to use it to replace a home stereo system but the quality of sound you get for the price and the size and the portability makes this speaker superb! Tip - I've found that placing it near a wall will really give you the best bass response.

I had gotten the Bose speaker to hear lectures from my computer which was pretty good at first. But then it stop charging after a couple of months about 11.

Two years ago I won a Jawbone Jambox Mini at work. It was a nice, little Bluetooth speaker that put out decent sound. At the time, it was selling for about $150 if I remember correctly. My wife is using that speaker in the kitchen with her cell phone. It does have quite annoying start-up and shutdown sounds, which can sometimes be suppressed - if the button presses work correctly. I wanted a small, quality Bluetooth speaker for the office. I quickly found out on the Internet that the Bose Soundlink Mini II has set the current standard for all such speakers. It's fine to read reviews, both professional and consumer, but when I went to Best Buy and heard this little gem, my mind was made up in an instant. The sound is phenomenal. The bass is especially enhanced when placing the speaker about two or three inches away from a wall as the bass sound exits the rear of the speaker. I played a song for my 24 year old daughter, then for my 21 year old son and they both immediately said, "I know what I want for Christmas/birthday! All of that sound is coming out of that tiny little box?!" So, the Jawbone Jambox Mini sells anywhere from $90 to $190 online - go figure. Don't even waste your time. Buy the Bose and you will not be disappointed. The Bose Soundlink Mini II is most definitely worth $200 in my opinion.

I returned my speaker shortly after buying it. Initial thoughts were it was great. I took it to the gym and noticed a background noise. Purchased a ue boom 2 and I'm far more pleased.

Had to return the Bose Soundlink mini Bluetooth speaker as it wasn't loud enough for my Zumba class in a racquetball court. Great product, just not for my intended purpose.

I am a semi-pro musician and an unrepentant audio snob who spends thousands of dollars a year on extreme quality audio and acoustic guitars. I've been tracking the Bose bluetooth systems for several years and this is my third variant. I debated it because of its very small size and significant price, but I have to say: For what it is, it is amazing. Just to give you an idea of how OCD I am about my audio, I have an audiophile preamp, 220w per channel power amp, and Anthony Gallo Classico IV speakers hooked up to my mac. All my music is ripped lossless in iTunes and I can hear the difference between asynch USB and synch USB. (You can too actually, but that's beyond the scope of my message.) My point is that I'm very very picky about my audio, and this little Bose system continues to make me gasp even though I've had it for six months now. Here's the details: What amazes me most is the full range of sound and impressive volume this tiny little speaker system delivers. It uses the entire enclosure as a resonating enclosure much like an acoustic guitar uses the full body of the instrument to produce quality sound (the better ones do this anyway). So this little micro speaker that cost more than I initially thought it should when I looked at it in the store just kicks royal butt. I use it for watching movies and youtube vids on my mac. If I'm going for full-up audio enjoyment, I go for the $6k audio system (of course) but for everything else I use this little micro Bose system that sits perfectly under the monitor of my iMac. And I chuckle and shake my head ever time it produces sound ten times larger than conventional wisdom would allow. Highly recommended.

I don't feel as the base or loudness is comparable to other brand and the charger is very in convenient and has to be lined up perfectly or else it won't charge.

I needed an outdoor speaker for my spa. This one is not loud enough to overcome the noise of the spa itself. I returned the item to the store.

I've had 7-8 of these and am SO happy I bought the warranty, because i had problems with every one until i went with a different brand.

Sound is good except loosing connection. At times the Bluetooth does not connect, my IPod is brand new 128g with over 10000 songs

We purchased a Bluetooth speaker set when we purchased a new computer. This speaker would not stay connected to the PC via Bluetooth continuously and would beep when resting on the charging cradle. It was returned. It may be a good speaker for infrequent use but it is not suitable as a permanent speaker for a home PC.

Bought this for my daughter's iPod classic and it is nowhere near the sound quality as the last one she had.

Sound isn't what one would like because it has too much base and one can't adjust the treble or base on this speaker.

Bad sound, not able to adjust and audio level such as bass and tremble. Sound at max wasn't very loud. A waste of money

Range of speaker is good, connectivity works well but the speakerphone performs poorly, not up to Bose quality

I didn't expect the sound to be so poor. Poor build and overall not satisfied. Returned to the store same day
