    Battery not charging!

    I have many Bose products in my home and for travel so am a fan of the brand and products. I purchased the mini sound link II in January of 2016, it's Oct. 2017 and suddenly the battery won't charge. Solid red light. Looked it up online, seems to be a pervasive issue. I tried a hard restart - did not work. I then tried going to the Bose site, plugging the unit to my computer and updating the software "to prevent premature entry into battery shipping mode" so from V1.1.3 to 1.1.4...but the irony is I get an error message saying I don't have enough battery power to perform the software update! I called Bose and the first person I spoke to said I could pay $75 for a new battery, and when I explained the unit won't work even when plugged directly into the wall he just kept repeating the original idea. I asked for a supervisor, waited on hold for 20 minutes and the "supervisor" was clearly empowered to deal and offered to have me ship the unit back for repair free of charge and included a shipping label. She said I would have a full year warranty when the unit is repaired and returned to me. Much better, but I don't understand why this wasn't offered at the outset and have concerns as to if this new unit will last. The jury is out of the repaired unit will last more than 1.5 years, I will update. In the meantime, be aware of this issue when purchasing this product, a serious design/manufacturing flaw.

    Overpriced and inferior sound

    I bought this and the JBL Charge 2+ at the same time and the Bose sounded horrible side by side with the JBL. The Bose is bass heavy but it lacks treble and the mids sound odd. The other dealbreaker for me was the Bose had some distortion when it was cranked. There are much better and cheaper alternatives so look elsewhere.

    I bought this as a gift for my boyfriend! He literally called me to tell me he uses it while he takes a shower! This gift was meant to be used when he goes out to tailgate!! He loves it!

    The reviews that I read of this product were so good that I felt like I was making a good choice in purchasing it for my partner. He hasn't used it yet but the product came in perfect condition. Shipped well and on time. Happy with my experience overall and I hope the speaker doesn't disappoint.

    Incompetent bluetooth linking to Macs

    If you have MacBooks or Mac desktops, the Bose Mini II Soundlink may drive you nuts. The sound is just as good as you expect from Bose, but this unit is absolutely incompetent at connecting and staying connected with the chosen Mac unit when there are others in the room. We had another unit from a different maker that didn't sound as good, but was FAR better at linking and staying linked. Bose's online instructions tell you how to get paired initially, but say nothing about the on/off flipping that drives us nuts.

      1. We offer the Bose Connect app which is designed to help with switching between a multitude of devices for different customer needs.

      2. In general, it is best practice to turn off Bluetooth on devices when not pairing. The speaker may be inadvertently connecting with a previously paired device that has Bluetooth on.

      3. For Mac-specific connection issues, adjusting the bitpool can improve this greatly. Here is how: Open the Finder. Double-click the Applications icon on the left menu bar. Double-click utilities in the Applications folder. Double click on the “Terminal” icon and a new window will open with the title “Terminal – bash – 80x24”. Type the following into the Terminal window, all on one line, including the quotes (Case sensitive):

      defaults write com.apple.BluetoothAudioAgent "Apple Bitpool Min (editable)" 48

      Press return. Quit the Terminal application. Restart the computer for the changes to take effect.

    I was given the speaker as a present on 11-11-15. Here we are 11-19-15 and the speaker shuts off while in use. Went to return it at the BestBuy on Manhattan Blvd. Harvey, La. and was told I could not return it because I did not have the receipt. IT WAS A GIFT. THE PERSON THAT GAVE IT TO ME PAID CASH AND DOESNT HAVE THE RECEIPT. I JUST WANTED TO EXCHANGE IT. Please don't waste your time with this item. Checked online and this is a common problem with this speaker.

    unsyncs and lights dont work after 1 month

    First time buyer for bose , I'm highly disappointed in it. Reason being that i purchased it brand new and after 3 weeks it started to unsync from my devices randomly. Now 1 month and 2 weeks later , the lights for the power and bluetooth are not working! So i called best buy , they said "do i have warranty on it ? ", here's the messed up part, I WAS NEVER offered best buy warranty on the time of purchase!!!

We can certainly understand the frustration when a wireless speaker is not staying connected to the audio source. We'd like to suggest some troubleshooting steps to get you back up and running.
      You can reset the speaker. To do so, press and hold the Power button for ten seconds. The system will turn off once it has been reset.
      There is also a software update for this speaker that would be beneficial to run. You can find that update here:
