    Great but can be improved

I wanted to like this as the portability and usability is awesome. The charging cradle is a cool design and the battery last about 5-6 hrs in real usage. It does have good sound but the treble could be smoother/crisper and the mid level frequencies could be more pronounced. It is a bit expensive compared to other bt speakers. This one does have a heavy apple-aluminum esque feel to it so the build quality is fantastic. I just thought the sound is good but not great.

The BEST sounding in its class

I'll start by saying I initially purchased the Beats Pill, what a piece of junk. Talk about slapping something together sticking a lower case b on it and charging you $200. Needless to say I took that back the next day and purchased the Bose. The first thing I noticed was the weight. I guess that's the gift and the curse, you cannot produce this type of sound without large magnets. But I purchased this to be mobile and have great sound, not to walk around with so at the end of the day that doesn't matter much. If you're wavering between which device to purchase do yourself a favor and go into the store. I paired my phone with all the Bluetooth speakers I could and this was the clear cut winner for me. I do not like the proprietary charging cable. That was almost a deal breaker. And this speaker doesn't come with a travel case, they charge you another $45. But I guess you get what you pay for.

    Truly Impressed

I opted for a cheaper option first, and bought a $40 Photive Cyren, thinking that it should be okay as I am not a sound expert. Boy was I wrong. The minute I turned on the cheaper speaker my whole body felt annoyed by the sound it produced. Then I tested out the Bose Mini at my local Best Buy. I was immediately impressed by how deep and rich the speaker sounded in the giant open store. Bought it on the spot and tested in different rooms at home. I listen to both melodic music as well as electronic dance music. The bass produced by this tiny device is truly amazing! I am so pleased by my new purchase and really feel that the $200 price tag is worth it. No wonder this is the #1 best seller on amazon. Buyers, a speaker is something you buy to enjoy, don't save money on this one. Go for the No. 1, you won't regret it.

This is one of the best things I've ever bought. My Nook HD and Droid Razr both had no problem syncing up with this speaker. Now I can listen to XM internet radio and Rhapsody right in my bedroom anytime I want. The sound is simply outstanding. The quality of the speaker unit is top notch, something built to last for years. Every nuance of the music is brought forth, with clarity at all ranges. I love my Bose Mini, and its small enough to bring everywhere you go. I highly recommend this speaker to any music lover. Absolutely no buyer remorse whatsoever, I wouldn't dream of returning this product!

    AMAZED

Picked up this little baby today and I am completely amazed at the sound that is coming out of it. I bought this to replace a Jawbone Jambox (BIG). Went to the store, synced my phone to a few different options - the Beats Pill XL, the new Bose Colorful portable speaker, the Bose Soundlink II and this little guy. The Bose Mini won with overall price/quality/portability. Again, the sound that comes out of this thing is nothing you'd expect for such a small gadget - it's rich and deep, but at the same time crisp and smooth. Beats my significantly larger Jambox by a landslide. You can tell it's well made - there's a certain weight to it and it feels very sturdy. It's a handsome little devil. Totally worth every dollar.

    Best "Mini" on the market

    Posted .

This is the first product I have felt compelled to write a review for. I tried a UL Boom from Best buy, but the sound quality was terrible so i returned it for this Soundlink Mini. I am to this day still impressed with this speaker. Pros -The overall quality of this Bose is better than all the other speakers I have heard. It is the most powerful sounding and has the best base. -The battery lasts longer than I need it to. I tested the battery life once at ~80-90% volume (very loud), it lasted about 6-7 hours before it started blinking at me to charge it. -Portable with the carry case, though the case is expensive, the speaker has been thrown around in my backpack for about 9 months now with no damage. -I like the weight. It has a quality, heavy, feel to it combined with a rubber bottom so It doesn't vibrate itself around like other speakers of its type. Cons -A little lacking in the highs, but not a deal breaker -No speaker phone feature -No carry case included -Proprietary charging cable -High volumes or overly complicated sounds can make the speaker pop and crackle. This doesn't happen often, but it is very annoying when it does. -Pairing between devices is difficult to say the least. The speaker always seems to prefer my computer (even when my phone was the last to pair with it and the computer is asleep). Clicking the pair button usually makes it re-connect to the device I don't want, and yes, I know what I am doing. I am 22 years old an not a stranger to computers/bluetooth by any means. -Will un-pair from phone to pair with computer while playing music sometimes.... This is very annoying and happens often. I just turn my computer's bluetooth off, but this should not be an issue. I hope Bose puts out a firmware update for these pairing woes. Summary I use this speaker instead of my TV speakers when playing video from my computer. I carry it to school with me, I use it multiple times per day and would definitely recommend to a friend. I'd like to see a feature like UE where you can connect multiple of these speakers to each other and have multiple devices connected to it.

Sound is better than my first generation Bose sound dock. light and fits in the palm of your hand. Bass can be felt throughout the room. Easily connects to multiple bluetooth devices (ipad, iphone, etc.) without any problems. Never had conflicting connections or interference. Once again Bose has solidified their standing as one of the best music choices out there.

    Simply incredible

I read all the reviews from Best Buy and other web sites. I decided to take the plunge and try a wireless speaker system. I was skeptical about these small systems. I really wanted something that could deliver good sound. Anyone can buy a battery operated radio for 30.00 and listen to music. I wanted the music to sound good! I've had other Bose products before. I knew the quality the name carries. This little speaker lives up to the Bose name. The sound is simply incredible. There is actual bass!!! No it doesn't boom like an amp'ed up car stereo. But there is noticeable base to the music. The sound actually does a good job of filling up the room too. I'm really impressed by this little thing. I struggled to come up with a "con" when writing this review. The closest thing I could come up with is the weight. The speaker isn't much longer than a standard brick you'd find in your house (slightly more slim). When you pick it up, you know you have something substantial in your hand. The aluminum case is nice. I don't know why anyone would want to buy a skin to cover it up. But to each their own. The charging base is kinda tricky to get lined up because it's like rubberized. So that makes moving the rubber bottomed speaker a little tedious at times. But that's trivial compared to this thing's performance. It is nothing short of incredible. Buy one and try it for yourself. Oh and since we're taking this speaker camping and on vacation I highly recommend the carrying case. Which IMHO should be included.

I attempted several times to use this cover. I even Googled it to see if maybe I was doing something wrong. I guess I don't have enough strength in my hands to tug & pull. I thought it looked really cool and would adequately protect my Bose wiresless speaker. However, because I couldn't get the darn thing on, I gave up and returned it for a refund. I thought...."geez, if I ever get this thing on, at some point I'll have to take it off to clean it and then I'll be faced with struggling all over again". That's it....it's going back to the store. I've had enough!

FIRST PRODUCT FROM BOSE I RECOMMEND

Up until this arrived, there was no doubt in my mind which small Bluetooth speaker got my vote: The "JBL Flip". The BOSE MINI SOUNDLINK is hands down, the best small Bluetooth speaker out there. Sound quality, build quality, utility. Look, go ahead and search the market, at $100.00 the "Flip" cannot be beat, but if you are gonna move beyond that, this is where you will land. Battery life is right around 6-7 hrs! I had the SOUNDLINK II, not impressed; returned it. Finally, a BOSE product that truly ROCKS! Good work, folks, you have put the rest of the industry to shame, and it truly does fit in a Back-Pack or Briefcase.

Outstanding Sound in a Compact Speaker

Like many other reviewers, I did a lot of research before purchasing this. I narrowed my choices down to the Bose SoundLink II and the Jawbone BIG JAMBOX. I went to Best Buy to try them out. I felt the JAMBOX was kind of "tinny" sounding - not a full rich sound, and I couldn't stand the way the buttons made audible sound when you pressed them (including volume). The SoundLink II was a little muffled to me - not very clear or bright. Then I tried the SoundLink Mini and was blown away by the richness of the sound (it has bass!), the clarity, and the volume range. I LOVE the dock - easy to grab it and bring it to another room without fumbling with cords. It paired easily (in the BBY store and at home) with my Samsung Galaxy S4 and my Lenovo laptop. I'm using it primarily to listen to Spotify and other content (videos). I also also bought the Bose travel case, which was overpriced and not very attractive, but I know I will want to take this little gem with me when I travel, so I bit the bullet. I don't often write reviews, but I am so impressed with this speaker!

Portable Bose With Great Sound Louder Than JBL

Purchased this Bose speaker as a gift, and has been not disappointment. Was looking for a speaker that was portable with good sound quality. Purchased Bose products in the past and this speaker met all expectations. It's much louder than the Sony and JBL mini speakers. It looks sleek and was made with good quality materials. It has a charging dock (non-bulky) that fits perfectly under the speaker. Even the charging cable is small and sleek looking. Would highly recommend this speaker over other brands.
