Bose SoundLink Plus Bluetooth Speaker
V Bose SoundLink Revolve
Summary: Awesome Bose sound - on the go!
Use:
We frequently listen to music in places where we don't have speakers installed. We always have our phones, just not speakers. Well, not until we owned our first Bose SoundLink Revolve portable speaker. The audio from that unit was stellar and we used it everywhere we could while doing things out and about. For me, that meant working in the garage and in the shop. Sometimes that meant doing chores in a room where I don't have an audio setup. Sometimes that means while out on a picnic enjoying some food while relaxing to some favorite tunes.
We skipped generations mainly because these are at a price point where we don't just scoop up extras. Plus, we felt we should allow our present unit to live out its service life. And it has. The unit now has a bit of trouble holding a charge. This makes using it as a portable music solution impractical. So now, it has a permanent home on my workbench in the garage where I can build things, fix things, or work out to great tunes.
This is what the Bose SoundLink Plus has to live up to, this is Bose's reputation.
We've only owned the Bose SoundLink Plus a short few days. We did extensive playback comparisons between it and the Revolve. We do have a speaker that is used exclusively in wet spaces and that can play a mean beat, so we tested that too.
Up close and at maximum, the sound feels crisp. It's loud. The bass is overwhelmed by the treble and mid range sound. Almost shrill. This is something you can make minor adjustments to via the Bose app. Position the speaker at a reasonable listening distance, and the unit truly shines. The highs and lows blend better and you get great audio for a portable speaker. At first, I didn't think it outdid its much older cousin, but side by side it became as crystal clear as it's audio.
The unit is designed with a soft powder-coat and soft-touch silicone. It's an interesting feeling as the material is similar to other products, but with a larger surface area. The buttons are responsive and the LED is bright to easily indicate status while pairing, and charging.
The unit is also IP67 rated. That means it should be dustproof and water proof. It allegedly floats! While we haven't tested that specifically, the instructions say that when it is wet, drying is simply a matter of patting dry with a towel and allowing the units internals to dry. You can assist with a fan (non-heated) or some such other device.
One thing that surprised me was the weight. The speaker is 3.3 pounds! For its size and form factor, I shouldn't be surprised. The USB-C port that you use to charge the device (adaptor itself is no included), is the same port you can use to provide a 15W charge to compatible USB devices. The documentation says up to 20 hours of playback on a single charge. We haven't tested a full 20 hours. But we have played a few playlists that were definitely several hours of uninterrupted listening.
Connectivity boasts a range of compatible Bluetooth codecs for pairing and also pairs with other Bose speakers via Speaker Link to create stereo pairs. The controls are nothing to write home about. They respond well and include a shortcut button that can be used for a few functions such as Spotify Tap, something featured in other Bose products lineup (we have also a pair of earbuds). This makes starting up music fast - just tap and Spotify begins streaming music. Its a feature worth checking out.
Pros:
* Audio quality. This unit does its job well! It does the SoundLink family of speakers justice and we're glad to have selected it.
* Practical. The unit is water proof, dustproof, provides powerbank capability and, OH - right, the device floats! So if you are listening to it and falls into water - it won't sink out of sight.
* App. The Bose app is the standard app you see for configuring devices in an ecosystem. We have a few devices and its the same app. The app isn't required except if you want to make some adjustments or visually view some details.
* Controls. The controls work well, they're responsive, and feel nice courtesy of the soft-touch silicone.
* Build. The steel provide heft. The unit is visually attractive, and the included rope/loop makes carrying this big unit it a breeze. True to the Bose brand, the unit looks and feels well made.
Cons:
* EQ. The adjustments for the EQ for bass/mid/treble are a bit weak. The preset screen is also a bit weird. But after you play with it, it makes more sense and easy to use. My settings are bass +5, mid -3, treble -8 that seems to deliver the audio the way my ears want to hear it. It is a bit weird that the adjustments seem so extreme considering I seldom need to touch EQs.
* Due to the above EQ, I have to say that for the heft and size, I find the subwoofer a bit underwhelming. Don't get me wrong! The audio is still superior to the Revolve and to the devices family members use to play beats on-the-go.

Wow this is one EXCEPTIONAL sounding portable speaker! As always, Bose is known for high quality and this is no exception. I own a few other portable speakers but in all honesty this beats them in sound quality. I like the rope handle on the right side too. It arrives wrapped in a white cloth type bag and boxed nicely.
When I first received it I had to charge as the power light was pulsing white. It took about 4 hours and there is a USB Type-C cable included but no charger. When I saw the light was solid white I knew it was fully charged. I pressed on the power button and a female voice announced in English the battery life was 100%. On the Bose app you can change the Voice Prompts to other languages including Spanish, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin and Cantonese. English is the default. If you don't want to hear voice prompts you can disable them. To get all the features utilized you will want to download the Bose app, especially for the Equalizer. It does shut off after a preset time of 20 minutes if not being used, and the timer can be adjusted in the app.
The equalizer offers preset BASS BOOST+ up to +10, TREBLE BOOST (same +10), BASS REDUCER and TREBLE REDUCER which are down to -10. You can also scroll and use your own desired settings anywhere from 0 to 10 if you don't care to use the presets. Personally I thought the factory defaults - straight across 0 - sounded great but I also liked hearing the extra bass by putting the BASS BOOST setting to 8, the Mid to +6 and the Treble at +8. It all depends on what type of music you're listening to as well. For my own recorded music I used the BASS BOOST preset and my vocals were crystal clear with lots of life. The equalizer truly is a wonderful addition to this speaker as it adds richness, especially to music.
Across the top panel there are speaker controls which include on the right side a Volume Down button, Play/Pause button and a Volume Up button along with the Power, Bluetooth and a Shortcut button on the left side. If you want to skip forward double press the play button. Skip backwards triple press the play button. For volume up just press the + but to quickly increase the
volume press and hold +. For volume down press and hold the - and when the minimum volume is reached the Bluetooth light blinks 2 times.
I realize this speaker is weather resistant and that's why Bose has the rubber texture across the top and sides but I found the black color to be quite the fingerprint and dust magnet. I find myself wiping it off gently just to keep it looking decent. These speakers do come in a Citrus Yellow (which I would love to own) and a Blue Dusk. I'm sure the Citrus Yellow would not show all the dust or fingerprints plus it's so pretty. Might be a lady thing but I truly like that color.
Included in the settings you have a Speaker Link which will play music on two speakers at once. There is also a Multi-Point Connection where you can connect it to 2 devices at once and switch between them. Turning off the Multi-Point will disconnect the Bose SL Plus from the 2nd device.
I highly recommend this Bose speaker! It's well built, sounds terrific and you won't be disappointed. I LOVE MINE except just not crazy about the black but I am enjoying every second I use it. The battery holds a charge well too. Want everything you listen to sounding absolutely awesome?? Then buy this Bose Soundlink Plus! It truly rocks!

This BOSE SOUNDLINK PLUS portable Bluetooth speaker is packed with rich, full, room filling sound. It was packaged snug and securely for shippings bumps and bruises, arriving ready to fill my home with sweet music.
Unboxing and set up were a breeze. Paring the BOSE SOUNDLINK PLUS to my iPhone was super quick. I will note at the time of the review, the speaker was not listed on the Bose app, but appeared in the app after pairing to my phone. The Bose app is a great companion to aide in the set of the sound levels in SOUNDLINK PLUS speaker. The app will let you EQ your speaker to your preferred bass, mid, and treble levels. The BOSE SOUNDLINK PLUS definitely has some weight to it, but doesn’t take up too much room on a counter or a shelf.
I love having music playing in my home throughout my day, especially when I’m doing some cleaning around the house and I definitely love hearing all my sweet tunes coming out of this speaker. I’m not kidding when I say this small mighty speaker sends clear, rich, full, room filling sounds. So far I have been quite happy with the audio quality it produces.
The speaker comes with a USB-C cable for charging, but BOSE doesn’t provide a wall wart. (Who are we kidding, we all probably have way too many of those around the house.) I quite enjoy listening to my music on this BOSE SOUNDLINK PLUS speaker and would recommend it.

I’m very impressed with the Bose SoundLink Plus. The sound quality is clear, powerful, and well balanced for its size, with deep bass and crisp highs. Battery life is excellent and lasts all day without issues. It’s easy to pair via Bluetooth, feels very solid and well built, and is perfect for both indoor and outdoor use. Definitely a great purchase and highly recommended.

To start, this is a very uniquely built, Bluetooth speaker and Bose learned a lot from the sound link Maxx as this speaker sounds much better than the mid range is tremendously more clear and pronounced. I think it is super unique that Bose decided to include four small oval passive radiators for base output, and that the Twitter is curved off to the side as to help the higher frequencies escape before filling the sound stage.
Next, I would like to say that this yellow is actually really nice in person. I never would’ve thought a yellow speaker would be cool and I thought it was kind of crazy. That’s what was chose next, but seeing it in person I can see the allure. Also, I had bought a black version of this, and you can see straight through the speaker grill and see all what’s going on on the inside. I’m not sure if the yellow one has smaller holes, the powder coated front fills in a little bit, or there’s an illusion due to the scattering of light. I just don’t like that you can see straight into such a “Premium” speaker on the black model.

I have the max, and the flex. The max is definitely the best base. I use for talk radio. This speaker sounds great, EQ is very good. This is my favorite Bose speaker. Easy to sync Bluetooth. Long battery life. Compact , light weight. As usually always on Bose, the speaker sounds great.

This Bose portable speaker works great in our small space as our multiuse speaker. We won’t test the louder volume, but for the level we sre using, lower settings, our movie and music sound details don’t get shorted. We can actually hear sounds we could not hear from TV at low volume setting. The sound is rich and clear, So far no confusion for the device auto connect. (We have found our portable bluetooth speakers can jump from one device to another, on their own) which can be frustrating for family members who need simple.

The SoundLink Max delivers powerful, balanced audio with a focus on clarity and bass depth that outperforms many competitors in its size class. Powered by three transducers (two 89-mm full-range drivers and one 23-mm high-frequency driver) and two racetrack radiators, it produces loud, distortion-free sound even at high volumes. Vocals are crisp, acoustic instruments have warmth, and the bass is punchy without overwhelming the mids or treble. The default sound profile is well-tuned, but the Bose app offers adjustable EQ settings for fine-tuning bass, midrange, and treble. Compared to the SoundLink Flex, the Max offers significantly more bass and volume, making it better suited for larger spaces or outdoor gatherings. Pairing two units in Stereo Mode or Party Mode (via a firmware update) elevates the experience with richer, more immersive sound. However, audiophiles may find it lacks the ultra-fine detail of high-end wired systems.

Fills the room with quality sound. I bought my daughter the sound link but it didn't go as loud as I wanted so I purchased the sound link plus for myself and I love it.

I’ve been eyeing the Max for a bit now but that price…I already had a Flex but it wasn’t quite cutting it. Bought the Plus yesterday and while it’s not exactly sufficient for my taste, when paired with my Flex in party mode it’s perfection. So now I have two speakers I can use for different purposes or together when I want to rock out. The Max is pretty big and also expensive so this was the perfect solution as I literally thought there was a pretty big gap between the Flex and Max.

Great sound and volume. Easy to connect. All the quality you would expect from Bose. The only issue is it is a little heavier than I would have expected.
