Amazing little speaker. It has people doing a double take when they hear the big sound and pounding bass and see it’s coming out of a cute little speaker. It’s heavy, compact and once you get a case for it, it’s easily taken on the go as needed. I love the yellow color and found a matching case for mine. I really like how everytime you power it on, it tells you the battery percentage. I was also able to adjust the EQ in the app to suit my preferences which is always important to me.

This speaker is really good. The sound quality is clear, loud for its size, and has good bass. Battery life is solid and lasts long enough for daily use. It’s easy to carry, lightweight, and perfect for home, outdoor use, or travel. Definitely worth the price and I would 100% recommend it.

For fans of Bose products, they have another great offering in the wireless Bluetooth speaker category. And for those not familiar with Bose but are fans of bass in their music, the new Bose SoundLink Plus will be sure to please. In their SoundLink series of four speakers, the new Plus slots in next to the top offering in size and price. The SoundLink series offers the ability to sync together two compatible SoundLink speakers to play either in “Party” mode (same output from both speakers) or “Stereo” mode (left and right stereo sound from the pair of speakers). The SoundLink Plus contains two powered drivers and two front facing ports and two rear facing ports that enhance the bass output of the speaker. The case of the unit is covered in silicone rubber except for the metal front panel and the rear panel which appears to be a hard plastic. Bose states that the speaker meets IP67 standards for dust and water resistance. The first number (6 in this case) is solid particle resistance, which ranges from 0 to 6. The second number is water resistance (7 for the Plus), and ranges from 0 to 9. The SoundLink Plus lends itself well to a life spent outdoors and on the go for those people that spend time at the beach, on the lake, or at the pool. Please note that after exposure to salt water or chlorinated water (pools), the Plus should be rinsed with clean tap water and allowed to dry before it is hooked up to charge. I find it interesting that while other water resistant speakers I have seen all have had a rubber door or cover over the charging port to keep water out of it, but on the SoundLink Plus this port is out in the open and Bose recommends simply that the port be allowed to dry before connecting the cable to the port. Speaking of the charging port, the SoundLink Plus is able to send current the other way through this USB-C port and charge your phone or tablet with up to a 15 watt output. This is probably not enough to charge your laptop, but should be sufficient to charge your phone when you are away from AC power availability. Bose provides a USB-C to USB-C charging cable, but it is only 18 inches long which can make it inconvenient in some situations depending on the location of the AC power outlet you are going to use to charge the speaker. There is no power supply (adapter, block, whatever you want to call it) supplied in the box. It is interesting to note that the owner’s manual states that there is only a charging cable supplied while on Bose’s website it states under “What’s In The Box” that there is an included “USB-C power supply (U.S. only, Not available in all regions)”. My unit did not contain a power supply. Bose also states that it takes 5 hours for the SoundLink Plus to fully charge, but there is no mention as to the wattage output of the power adapter used for this spec, or what the maximum charging accepted by the speaker is. And for what is included in the box besides the speaker and the charging cable is what Bose calls a “Safety Sheet”. A small booklet in 17 languages and contains what I suspect is information that is required by law to be included. The full owner’s manual is available on Bose’s website for viewing or download and the English version is 43 pages in length. I long for the good old days of paper manuals being included with products. I find reading long documents with small print on my phone tedious, so I use my computer and would find a physical version to hold in my hands more pleasurable. But, the electronic version does have the handy search capability. Another interesting “feature” or more accurately lack thereof, is that the SoundLink Plus does not contain a microphone and thus is unable to be used for phone calls. This is probably a non-issue for young people that rarely talk on the phone, but I thought it merits mention since every other Bluetooth speaker I have had contact with offers this function. This is a good time to also mention that not all of Bose’s wireless speakers that carry the “SoundLink” moniker are able to sync with and play in unison with the SoundLink Plus. We have a SoundLink Mini II and a SoundLink Color in the house and neither of these older Bose SoundLink speakers can sync with the Plus. I have included a picture of the SoundLink Plus and our SoundLink Mini II to offer a comparison of size for those Bose owners that may be considering an upgrade from an older product. There is an app available simply called “Bose” that gives you the ability to customize the SoundLink Plus to your liking in that you can adjust sound quality through an equalizer function, make adjustments to the “Auto-Off”, “Bluetooth Connections”, “Shortcut”, and the “Voice Prompts” features, update firmware of the speaker, and access “Technical Info” and “Common Questions”. It is also possible to make additional colorations to your music by adding the EQ settings in the app you are using to provide content through your phone or tablet. The SoundLink Plus comes with a carrying loop made of braided nylon which makes for a comfortable way to carry it with a finger or two through the loop and also gives you a way to clip it onto something using a carabiner. At 3-pounds 6-ounces the Plus can be a bit of weight to carry around or have clipped to a backpack for any length of time, so it might be better suited for carrying to the party rather than going along for the ride on your skateboard. Currently the speaker comes in three colors, Black, Blue Dusk, and a limited edition Citrus Yellow. I found the black silicone covering to be a virtual dust magnet and it always looks “dirty” and is hard to wipe clean without leaving lint behind. The sound quality of the Bose SoundLink Plus is of the excellence that fans of Bose have come to expect from the company and their products over the years. The Plus is of a size than can fill a large room with your favorite music and minimal distortion even when pushed to very loud volumes. The size of the SoundLink Plus is deceiving in that it is capable of producing a much deeper and richer bass response than seems possible when you first see it. Sound quality and preferences are very subjective and vary from person to person, so best to listen to a demo first if you can. Bose suggests the battery can play up to 20 hours, but like anything “your mileage may vary” with the volume you are extracting from the device. The Bose SoundLink Plus should provide years of service based on the quality feel it imparts and from my past experience with their products. A standard 1-year warranty is provided along with the option to purchase additional coverage.

Since getting this Bose SoundLink Plus speaker, I’ve been listening to music in the evenings and mornings. It’s a portable speaker that is just right in size - big enough to be powerful and small enough to be portable. The battery life has been great. I charged it fully for 5 hours (with the included charging cable) before the first use 7 days ago. I’ve used it for probably 9 hours total so far and it’s currently at 60% - which adds up because it’s supposed to last 20 hours. The sound is clear and I really like that it’s loud enough to listen to from other rooms. It’s great for active listening or ambiance music. Volume/loudness is very important to me because I use a portable speaker to listen to audiobooks and podcasts when I wash my hair. I am happy that the SoundLink Plus speaker gets loud enough to overpower the shower noise and a hair dryer. If you want to hear bass, I suggest using the Bose app to adjust the EQ settings. The bass is audible or noticeable up until around mid volume. Beyond mid volume, the bass is hardly noticeable in my opinion. This is a little bit of a bummer especially since “booming bass” is one of the main features listed. Bluetooth connectivity was very easy and you can connect up to two devices so both me and my husband are connected to the speaker. The speaker itself has a good weight to it. Most of the speaker housing has a soft rubber feel to it - which in my experience may degrade and turn sticky after a few years. I can’t wait to use it for pool day later this summer! The speaker’s ingress protection makes it so it’s water / dustproof and would survive being submerged up to 3 ft. Good to know in case of an accident. The Bose app will also let you know the moisture level of the speaker and when it’s safe to charge again. My only real complaints about this speaker, which I mentioned above, are the bass and the housing material. For the bass, at least it can be tinkered with on the app with Bass boost. And for the soft-touch rubber coating, nothing is actually wrong right now, there’s just the possibility that it may degrade in a few years - I hope not though! It’s honestly been so much fun to listen to albums and playlists this whole week. I’m satisfied with it and will definitely continue to use it at home. Reading more about the features, I like the possibility of creating a system by connecting it to another Bose speaker. I think that would be great for future parties.

      Hey, Sophia!

Thanks for sharing how much you're enjoying using the speaker, particularly when you're on-the-go in the mornings and evenings, and that it's providing you with clear, loud music. While the SoundLink Plus speaker features premium portable design, you can rest easy that the soft-touch casing will provide many, many years of use. The speaker is IP67 rated, meaning it's water and dustproof, enabling it to withstand all weather. It will survive all the survives fumbles, tumbles, and falls as you take it on your adventures! In addition, it's shock and rust resistant. We hope you continue to enjoy the speaker, and get to trial out Party or Stereo mode with another compatible Bose speaker soon!

The first thing I noticed was the weight coming at over 3lbs. and is felt when hanging on a backpack or carrying it on one hand by the fabric braided handle. I would have liked a shoulder strap option to make it a bit more portable. The rubberized finish around the speaker feels great in the hand and provides excellent grip and protection (within reason). The water/dust IP67 rating makes it an ideal speaker for enjoying sound outdoors without worries. Fast pair on Android is smooth and having the companion app makes it even better. Having Bluetooth 5.4, the speaker maintains a good connection at decent distances, and the multi-point capability is very much appreciated. The app is a bit simplistic but provides some customization such as choosing/editing connections, shortcut, and EQ, as well as updates and battery life. The product can also be linked with other compatible speakers for extended audio coverage, or as a stereo set. The sound quality is very good for the most part. On default settings, and with AptX active, the bass has impact and where needed there is plenty of sub-woofer depth. The midrange is a bit recessed but not to the point of being overshadowed. The treble adds much needed clarity. The EQ helps, but one must be ready to mess with it often when changing genres or songs. The sound can get a bit distorted at above 80% volume in my testing, but I doubt it needs to go that high since the speaker can get extremely loud. In casual or social situations, such as backyard cookouts, poolside, or at the park, the listening experience is quite enjoyable and fun. I just would not listen critically expecting high-end audio. The battery life is very good. It lasted for 2 full workdays, roughly 18 hours, at about 30-40% volume at the office. It takes almost 4 hours plus for it to charge via USB-C. I really like the fact that the speaker also doubles as a portable battery bank. For the price, I would’ve appreciated a few more features such as phone call capabilities, a more robust EQ, lossless audio via USB-C, an AUX input, and a charger. Having said that, I believe this speaker provides that undeniable premium Bose audio experience, and I for one would not regret the purchase.

    Bose Speaker...Simply The Best

This Bose Soundlink Plus is the best portable speaker I own, by far. Out of the box, the speaker has a loop carry handle with the product heft that speaks to Bose quality. Click on the box QR code link and it will take you to a full online instruction booklet. I own an android phone and quickly connected via bluetooth. This speaker allows 2 devices to connect to it. Finally ! Why do so many companies allow only 1 device connection? Thank You, Bose. This multi device connection function allows you to smoothly change between devices. The speaker has a shortcut button for the multi device function or to use as a one touch spotify connection button. From the factory it is programmed to operate the multi device function. This speaker can connect with a number of other Bose smart speakers as well, to create use between them for parties and more. Just another quality feature. The speaker operates by voice prompts and can do so in a multiple of languages. Don't like voice prompts? You can turn off that feature. The sound quality is the exceptional sound quality you would expect from Bose. Amazing. Used it last weekend and was phenominal. Great Bass and terrific balance. You need to hear it to believe how goid it is. Think the Bose quality you have heard of for years and years. The speaker charges by usb-c cable and takes a few hours to fully charge. Bose says it can play about 20 hrs on full charge. I have used it several days and haven't had to recharge it yet. The speaker is waterproof and durable. Great for the yard, house, beach and more. This speaker will surely last me for several years. Bose still is the leader in sound and product design. This is a must buy portable speaker. Bose has done it again...

    Bose SoundLink Plus is Excellent!

This Bose SoundLink Plus speaker is an excellent speaker. It’s very robust, seems incredibly durable, and I really like the feel of it, especially the little rope handle. It makes it easy to carry, and it’s not that heavy. The only issue with the exterior is that the rubberized texture all around it gets a bit dusty and is kind of difficult to just brush off with your hands. But it’s a very attractive speaker with good portability and doesn’t take up too much space. I think the sound and bass are amazing, as always coming from Bose, you can’t go wrong with the sound. It’s fantastic all around. You can change the EQ settings from the app, but I really don’t think it needs to be changed. The battery lasts a very long time, and I like how you can set the voice to tell you how much battery is left from the app or turn that feature off. 20 hours of battery is an incredible amount of time. I’m not sure if I’ll ever need it that long, but it’s great to have. Another feature I like was that you could charge your phone in an emergency with the USB-C on the back, while it also being how you charge the device itself instead of a separate port. It connects fast to my device. As soon as I turn the speaker on and press play, music starts right away. Overall, this is a great Bluetooth speaker from Bose, but the only thing is it’s just a speaker, no microphones, so it doesn’t do phone calls, but that’s fine with me. This is a great option not quite a Bose Max or Flex but a perfect in-between option.

Being a Bose speaker, I was expecting great things. That's exactly what they delivered. I have used their QuietComfort noise cancelling ear buds for years and love them. We've had and used several cheap portable speakers for beach trips and in the garage and they've done reasonably well, but nothing compares to the sound quality and room-filling sound of Bose. Out of the box, the battery level was very low, so I charged it in the kitchen. While it was charging, I paired it with my phone and the Bose app. I initially used my phone's EQ settings to make adjustments, but it wasn't quite right. I then used the Bose app's EQ settings and was able to find the perfect balance. I listened to a few songs that I know very well and they sounded great. I then turned the volume up and was able to hear it clearly throughout the hose. Even being behind a few walls, it still filled the house with sound. For as compact as it is, it has a great volume level without distortion. There are several buttons on the top of it. Power, Bluetooth, Shortcut, Volume Down, Play/Pause and volume up. You can pair more than one speaker together and a nice feature is that you can also pair it with a Bose soundbar. That's great if you have a "dead spot" in your room with your soundbar. The default for the "shortcut" button is speaker link to link two Bose speakers together. The only other option is Spotify. One press resumes Spotify and another lets you discover music. I wish there were more options for the shortcut button. I don't use Spotify, and I don't have any need for additional speakers, so that button is useless for me. Maybe in the future they will add more options for it. It does have Multi-point connection so that more than one device can be connected to it at once. That's perfect as my phone can be connected as well as my wife's and we can switch back and forth between them. The EQ in the Bose app has four presets. (Bass Boost, Bass Reducer, Treble Boost and Treble Reducer). You can also set Bass, Mid and Treble independently with a slider from +10 to -10. The USB-C port is not only for charging it, but it can also be used to charge your phone. They say that if the battery is fully charged it has a life of 20 hours (this is reduced significantly if you're using it at max volume). As loud as this speaker can get, I doubt many people will use it at max volume for long. Charge time is about five hours. You can hold the power button and it will tell you the battery level. If you press the Bluetooth button it will tell you which device is connected. If you connect another speaker, there are Party and Stereo modes. In Party Mode, both speakers play together. In Stereo Mode, one speaker plays the left channel and the other plays the right channel separately. This speaker is rugged. It's quite heavy and has a rope loop for carrying it or attaching it to something. They claim that it can take a fall and is dust and waterproof as well as shock resistant (IP67 rated). Overall, it's a great speaker that can stand up to the elements and go where you go. I definitely recommend it.

WOW! This little new Bose Speaker is full of surprises. It’s a perfect balance between price, performance, features, battery duration and quality. The sound is very pleasant, and the sound quality is as good as hearing the song from a recording studio. Bose fills the gap between the Flex and Max, both award winning by CNET and Rolling Stone. The Plus is quite similar to the Soundlink Flex on the front, but the Plus is deeper, heavier, and that obviously makes a lot of improvements in terms of sound power and quality. It’s louder and clearer with higher sound definition. The packaging and presentation look very professional and makes you feel confident that you have made the right choice. What is in the box: Bose Speaker, USB-C to USB-C Cable (20in long), and the Safety Guide. The user manual can be downloaded from the Bose website. Esthetically speaking the shape and texture is elegant, it kept the design of its predecessor, and comes with three color options, Black Matte, Blue Dusk, and Yellow Citrus. The coating is made of silicon so that when you grab it does not slip from your hand. It has a nylon rope on the side to carry by hand or hang it. It is rated IP67 water resistant, which means it can be submerged up to 3 meters down the water for 30 min. It also has the capability to float on the water. So if you accidentally drop it in the water, it will be easy to find without being worried of potential damage. The specs states that the Battery last 20 hours. I haven't had the chance to test the Battery duration for that long, however it took 4 hours to fully charge. There is a voice prompt that will tell you when the unit is fully charged or when it is close to minimum charge, as well as the BT connectivity alerts. There are also light indicators that will tell you the status of the Battery, Charging, SW update, or errors. But if you prefer not to have the voice prompts, there is an option to disable them. A difference between the Flex and the Plus, is that it doesn’t have a mic incorporated, so it wont work to answer phone calls, or give commands to use it with google home on the android phone or Siri on iphone. And the difference between the Max and this one, is that It doesn’t have any external port for audio playback like a 3,5 mm stereo jack for a headphone audio connector or audio output, so everything will be Bluetooth audio streaming oriented. The sound is generated by one Subwoofer, one tweeter and 4 passive radiators. From what I tested on my home, It doesn’t matter if the room is large or small, the quality, sound definition, vocals, are clear and steady. There is obviously more bass center but not as much as its predecessors. I played music on the device at 100% sound power for about 2 hours without any distortion no matter which kind of music, Classical, Rock, Heavy Metal, etc. I have read some blogs from audiophiles that don’t like the way Bose processes the sound. I don’t know much about the design or technology involved, but at the end what matters is how you feel, and what you will hear on the Soundlink Plus is high fidelity reliable sound. It really feels like a Sound stage concert. I also want to experience the surrounding sound effect which is something BOSE is very well known for. I was moving around the room and clearly perceived all the instruments and details that I didn’t notice before with other speakers. Sometimes with other Bluetooth speakers I needed to equalize the sound. On the Soundlink Flex I didn’t need to equalize anything, the default settings were good enough. My Bose came with enough power to work right away; however, you will still need to connect it to a power USB adapter (not inclued) using the included USB-C cable to activate the Battery. On the top you will find 6 buttons for the basic operation, Power, Bluetooth, Shortcut button (Multifunction), Volume down, Play/Pause, Volume up. Skip Forward/Backward are available by pressing the Play/Pause Button Twice/Triple. All these functions can be found on the Bose app as well. In the Back you will find the USB-C Charging port, but that port can be used to charge other devices like your smartphone or any other usb device up 15 watts which it makes it a very fast charger, which is a very handy feature. You don’t need to install the Bose app if you want to enjoy the Bose Soundlink Plus right away, just power on the Speaker, connect the usb-c cable with the power adapted to activate the Battery, sync it with your phone via BT and that is it. You can store up to 6 devices in the Bose Soundlink device list, and the speaker can be actively connected to up to 2 devices at a time, but you can play audio only one device at a time. However, the Bose app offers a lot of other features that you will enjoy as I did. The box has a QR code where you can download the Bose app, it is available in the apple or google store. Once you have the Bose app installed, the step by step instructions will guide you to: connect to your wifi and internet, and sync with the Soundlink Plus. Actually it is very intuitive to use. Create an account or if you already have one, login in. Once you are done there are many options you can customized/setup, like the equalizer, for middle, bass and treble, but for me the default settings are fine. You will also have the chance to update the firmware of the device if it is required, and one that I really like is the Multipoint connection, which allows you to connect multiple speakers, so if you have another Soundlink Plus, you can setup the 2 of them to play in stereo which is something really cool, or set up as "Party Mode", playing the songs on different Bose devices in serial mode. These features can be set up through the app and activated with the shortcut (the default is Multipoint feature) button located on the top of the speaker. This button can also be configured to for spotify. These features can be all set up in the app. To recap, Bose never disappointed with its products. The Soundlink Plus is easy to manage, simple, but with a great quality sound, for me there was no need to equalize because it doesn’t need to, the sound is neat, reliable steady, truthful, deep and powerful.

First off, like all Bose products, this doesn’t disappoint. The sound quality, waterproof and battery life make it a home run. I know it’s pricey, but this Bose speaker delivers high quality and premium sound. You can make some tweaks to fit your style, but I was impressed with its out of the box performance. Best of all is that its portable design allows you to take it anywhere! You can download the Bose app and really control its base and treble settings. I recently had a bbq at my home and it was nice knowing I can control everything like the volume from my phone. It’s rather loud, so I’ll probably use this mostly outside when I’m doing yard work or entertaining. I have a camping trip coming up, so I’m debating taking this with me. I’ve used this a handful of times so far and have only had to charge it twice. I havent really kept track of the hours, but I’d say it’s averaging 12 hours per charge. I think that alone is fantastic! It’s a new product, so I’m sure Bose or someone will make one soon. But this’ll definitely need a travel case for those taking hiking or using it outside. It’s durable. But that doesn’t mean you want to drop it from 10 feet in the air. It’s a tad heavier than I would’ve expected for a portable speaker. You can decide if that’s for better or worse. Too light and it might not be as durable as it currently is. Pros: Sound clarity Bose app connective portable Durable Light Battery life Features Waterproof C port out feature! Cons: Price Protective case? A little heavier than expected Overall: This Bose speaker delivers high quality sound and gives the traveler peace of mind with its durable build. Oh, and if you need a quick charge? Plug in your phone’s c charger and charge up! The price might deter some folks, and that’s ok. I love that I can take it with me wherever I go!

The new Bose SoundLink Plus Portable Bluetooth Speaker (Black) is the BEST speaker I've ever owned! My previous Bose SoundLink Revolve+, which I purchased back in 2018, has been serving me well, but I was really excited to try the latest version of SoundLink. I really appreciate that this model has a better charging system via an enclosed USB-C (C to C) cable (and not a cradle). I would have preferred a longer cable and also A to C instead (my pic is with an adaptor) but these cables are so common and I already own a longer cable, so not a big deal but still wanted to make a note. The initial charging took several hours (left it plugged in overnight) but each full charge is supposed to last up to 20 hours, according to the spec sheet. But enough about these minor details - the most important feature, of course, is the sound quality and it is SUPERB! NEW Soundlink Plus has a very clean and crisp sound and you can hear the vocal and each instrument so clearly that you almost feel like you are right there in the recording studio! I even did a sound test between my old Bose SoundLink Revolve+ and the NEW SoundLink Plus by listening to the same music and couldn't believe how the sound was so much better on the NEW Soundlink Plus - absolutely no contest! I am not a fan of the loop handle (liked the actual handle on my old Soundlink Revolve+ better) but it's better than not having one at all. The loop is hefty but soft enough and it seems durable and sturdy enough to last for a very long time. I didn't download the app, but it works just as well without it, and connecting to my devices via Bluetooth was super easy. So, if you are a music lover and expect a topnotch sound quality in your speaker, Bose Soundlink Plus is a solid choice. I highly, highly recommend it!

The Bose SoundLink Plus is a fantastic option for anyone looking for a high end, high quality, portable Bluetooth speaker. Its sleek design and build quality really make it stand out. I picked up the unit in black, but it is also available in a deep blue dusk or vibrant citrus yellow color. A style to fit every taste! The SoundLink Plus seems durable for everyday use. Its IP67 certification means it’s both dustproof and water resistant, making it perfect for beach days, park picnics, hanging out by the pool, or handling accidental spills or splashes. Battery life is another highlight. Bose claims up to 20 hours of playtime on a single charge. Getting through a day and lasting through long gatherings shouldn’t be a problem. I’ve used plenty of Bluetooth speakers over the last 10 years and this one might be the best yet. Bose delivers on incredible audio, crisp highs, balanced mids, and BOOMING bass in even my largest living area. In my home, we play everything from bright pop and jazz, to metal – even with the default flat EQ setting no one is complaining. The Bose SoundLink Plus combines style, durability, and exceptional sound in a way that few portable speakers I’ve used can match. Highly recommended!

As someone who has an ear for sound and a love for detail, I have to say this Bose SoundLink Plus is a beast in a small body. From a sound engineering perspective, the low-end response is impressive for a portable unit. The bass extension dips surprisingly deep into the sub-bass region (~55 Hz), giving you that warmth and body you normally expect from larger drivers. The passive radiators do a fantastic job maintaining clean low frequencies without introducing mud or distortion at higher SPL levels. Even at max volume, there’s no noticeable harmonic distortion — the THD feels well below 1%, which is excellent for a speaker this size. The mids are balanced, vocals sit right where they should, and the highs are crisp without being harsh. It’s tuned with Bose’s signature curve — slightly boosted lows and highs for that lively, full-bodied sound that works across genres. Build & Design: The Citrus Yellow finish pops! It feels premium in hand, with that soft-touch silicone exterior that gives it a grippy, durable feel. It’s IP67 rated, so we can take it outside without worrying about a splash or two. The physical buttons have a nice tactile response, and the overall build screams quality without being overly heavy. Ease of Use: This is where Bose really shines. My wife and I love sitting in the backyard to unwind, and this speaker makes it effortless. We both stay connected to the speaker at the same time via the multipoint pairing feature. When I power it on, the voice prompt immediately tells me which devices are connected, so there’s no guesswork. Switching between devices is instant — no fumbling with Bluetooth settings. Just hit play on Spotify, and it picks up right away. Battery & Connectivity: Battery life lives up to the claims — easily over 20 hours on moderate volume. Bluetooth range is solid; we can leave our phones inside while the speaker stays outside without any dropouts. Final Thoughts: If you’re after portable, premium sound with a strong low-end and absolute ease of use, this is the one. Bose nailed the balance between portability and audio fidelity. Perfect for backyard sessions, travel, or even as a stylish indoor setup. Highly recommend!

The Bose SL (SoundLink) Plus came with a 20-inch USB type-C cable. You will need to have or purchase a charger block if you want to plug into an electrical outlet for charging. I used the charging block from our SoundLink Mini Bluetooth speaker II Special Edition with the 20-inch USB type-C cable. The SL Plus does not come with a manual; you will have to go online to download a manual. I am using the Bose app, on my Samsung Galaxy S25+, for our Bose 700 soundbar and 700 headphones. Upon receiving the Bose SL Plus I turned it on, prior to charging, and a connection link appeared on my phone. When I pressed the connection link it took me to my Bluetooth setup and just that quickly, I connected. Then it opened the Bose app on my phone and I added the SL Plus in seconds. The setup was that simple. After connecting to my phone, the SL Plus displayed a 20% charge. I charged the SL Plus and had a full charge within 2 hours and there was no heat to the charger, the cable, or the SL Plus. The SL Plus also boasts being able to charge your phone. I unplugged the SL Plus from the charger and I plugged my Samsung S25 phone into the SL Plus and charged my phone from 72% to 100% in approximately 54 minutes. The SL Plus still displayed 100% charge, another neat feature of the SL Plus. The downloaded manual does state that you need to “connect to a power supply prior to use in order to activate the battery”, however I did not have the manual at the time that I chose to turn on the SL Plus. In review of the manual, I believe that quick connection to my phone was what they refer to as “Fast Pair”. You’ll have what you need for great sound by using the Bose app on your phone, however the downloadable manual has more information for additional setup and/or short cut procedures. Plus, the manual will explain what the different flashing/solid lights and colors mean. Battery time appears to be excellent. At 100% charge and approximately 55 % sound volume. After 3 hours of music, I noticed it was down to 90% charge. I turned the sound volume down to approximately 45% and 6 hours in and the battery is only down to 80%. The manual states that at full charge, the SL Plus will run up to 20 hours. At maximum volume the battery will last up to 4 hours. In my opinion you would have to be in a large area to operate the SL Plus at maximum volume. When you turn on the SL Plus a voice will tell you how much battery power you have remaining. The manual states not to charge the unit if it is wet, the unit is waterproof however the USB-C port must be completely dry prior to charging. This is where the blinking light, on the top, may indicate moisture has been detected. The Bose SL Plus is a good-looking piece of equipment with the usual phone connection to music, phone calls, etc., and has incredible sound. Like all Bose equipment it is well made and weighs approximately 3.4 pounds and is approximately 3.25 x 4.2 x 9 or 11.2 with the carry loop cord extended. I added some pictures that may give you a little idea of the size of the Bose SL Plus next to the smaller Bose SoundLink Mini Bluetooth speaker II Special Edition. As with all Bose equipment, you have good control over your choice of entertainment and sound. And the Bose SL Plus has the same quality sound that all our Bose equipment has, clear crisp highs and clean solid bass. We travel a great deal, when flying we’ll use the SoundLink Mini Bluetooth speaker II Special Edition due to its small size, and great sound, however the SL Plus will be our new choice when travelling by vehicle.

Super clean sound from a very tiny package

In the world of battery-powered Bluetooth speakers, the diminutive Bose Soundlink Plus stands alone. It is not the biggest or the loudest or the most feature laden gadget in this universe. But it may well produce the cleanest, most accurate and most balanced sound of any speaker out there. Which is more that a little surprising for a Bluetooth speaker this small. At a smidge over 9 inches wide and 4 inches tall, this is one of smallest "party speakers" on the market. Most companies producing these things make them big, with big speakers, and put more of an emphasis and bone-rattling bass than accurate music reproduction. Bose seems to think differently, which is an interesting approach in an era when the heavy thump of the bass beat is what most buyers gravitate to. This is not to say the Soundlink Plus is incapable of producing decent bass. It does just fine in that regard, despite its small size. But the real magic is how this speaker balances that bass with super clean mids and soaring crystal clear highs. Some might even consider this speaker a bit too bright in terms of the sound it produces. If so, you can tone those down highs using the equalizer in the somewhat limited but adequate Bose app. In running this speaker through its paces, I have to admit to being a bit stunned at hearing sonic details in some of my favorite songs that I have never heard before. The output from the Soundlink Plus is that bright and clean. It is hard not to be impressed with the technology that went into this thing. Bose has long been a leader in high-end speakers and the Soundlink Plus is but the latest example of that artistry. That being said, it probably is not for everyone. If you are one of those people more inclined toward blasting bass-heavy dance tunes at the beach or pool deck, the Soundlink Plus probably would not be your first choice. It can't get nearly as loud as the much larger party speakers out there. And it and can't match those bass levels either. But if you are more into listening to music than feeling it, the Soundlink Plus is an excellent choice. It's easy to move around, given how small it is. There is a small finger-sized carrying loop on one side (Although it is surprisingly heavy, a testament to the heft of those speaker magnets) Bose claims it is waterd and dust resistant, able to survive even being dropped into a pool.(IP 67) It will float, supposedly. And also survive a sand bath. Just rinse it off and dry it off and you are good to go. Supposedly. Not sure I would try that. The waterproof claims are little surprising since there is an open USB C port on the back for charging. (Those are usually hidden behind a waterproof door on competing all-weather speakers). But Bose advices against trying to charge the speaker right away after a water bath. Let it dry out first. Alternating white and amber lights on top warn if it is wet inside and needs to dry out. Otherwise, expect about 20 hours of life on every charge, less if you opt to charge your phone, using the aforementioned USB C port, while it wirelessly feeds tunes to the speaker. The Soundlink Plus is mono only but if you have the bankroll to buy two of these things, you can pair them and get stereo, as well as a much wider sound field. It also is supposed to support a mono "speaker link" mode with other Bose speakers but I never could get that to work with an older Bose speaker I own. As for other features, well, there are none. It does not support wi-fi (Bluetooth only), has no bass boosters and lacks the fancy light shows many competitors have. Bose apparently decided they would shine instead via stellar music reproduction. And that works for me.

Awesome Bose sound - on the go!

Bose SoundLink Plus Bluetooth Speaker V Bose SoundLink Revolve Summary: Awesome Bose sound - on the go! Use: We frequently listen to music in places where we don't have speakers installed. We always have our phones, just not speakers. Well, not until we owned our first Bose SoundLink Revolve portable speaker. The audio from that unit was stellar and we used it everywhere we could while doing things out and about. For me, that meant working in the garage and in the shop. Sometimes that meant doing chores in a room where I don't have an audio setup. Sometimes that means while out on a picnic enjoying some food while relaxing to some favorite tunes. We skipped generations mainly because these are at a price point where we don't just scoop up extras. Plus, we felt we should allow our present unit to live out its service life. And it has. The unit now has a bit of trouble holding a charge. This makes using it as a portable music solution impractical. So now, it has a permanent home on my workbench in the garage where I can build things, fix things, or work out to great tunes. This is what the Bose SoundLink Plus has to live up to, this is Bose's reputation. We've only owned the Bose SoundLink Plus a short few days. We did extensive playback comparisons between it and the Revolve. We do have a speaker that is used exclusively in wet spaces and that can play a mean beat, so we tested that too. Up close and at maximum, the sound feels crisp. It's loud. The bass is overwhelmed by the treble and mid range sound. Almost shrill. This is something you can make minor adjustments to via the Bose app. Position the speaker at a reasonable listening distance, and the unit truly shines. The highs and lows blend better and you get great audio for a portable speaker. At first, I didn't think it outdid its much older cousin, but side by side it became as crystal clear as it's audio. The unit is designed with a soft powder-coat and soft-touch silicone. It's an interesting feeling as the material is similar to other products, but with a larger surface area. The buttons are responsive and the LED is bright to easily indicate status while pairing, and charging. The unit is also IP67 rated. That means it should be dustproof and water proof. It allegedly floats! While we haven't tested that specifically, the instructions say that when it is wet, drying is simply a matter of patting dry with a towel and allowing the units internals to dry. You can assist with a fan (non-heated) or some such other device. One thing that surprised me was the weight. The speaker is 3.3 pounds! For its size and form factor, I shouldn't be surprised. The USB-C port that you use to charge the device (adaptor itself is no included), is the same port you can use to provide a 15W charge to compatible USB devices. The documentation says up to 20 hours of playback on a single charge. We haven't tested a full 20 hours. But we have played a few playlists that were definitely several hours of uninterrupted listening. Connectivity boasts a range of compatible Bluetooth codecs for pairing and also pairs with other Bose speakers via Speaker Link to create stereo pairs. The controls are nothing to write home about. They respond well and include a shortcut button that can be used for a few functions such as Spotify Tap, something featured in other Bose products lineup (we have also a pair of earbuds). This makes starting up music fast - just tap and Spotify begins streaming music. Its a feature worth checking out. Pros: * Audio quality. This unit does its job well! It does the SoundLink family of speakers justice and we're glad to have selected it. * Practical. The unit is water proof, dustproof, provides powerbank capability and, OH - right, the device floats! So if you are listening to it and falls into water - it won't sink out of sight. * App. The Bose app is the standard app you see for configuring devices in an ecosystem. We have a few devices and its the same app. The app isn't required except if you want to make some adjustments or visually view some details. * Controls. The controls work well, they're responsive, and feel nice courtesy of the soft-touch silicone. * Build. The steel provide heft. The unit is visually attractive, and the included rope/loop makes carrying this big unit it a breeze. True to the Bose brand, the unit looks and feels well made. Cons: * EQ. The adjustments for the EQ for bass/mid/treble are a bit weak. The preset screen is also a bit weird. But after you play with it, it makes more sense and easy to use. My settings are bass +5, mid -3, treble -8 that seems to deliver the audio the way my ears want to hear it. It is a bit weird that the adjustments seem so extreme considering I seldom need to touch EQs. * Due to the above EQ, I have to say that for the heft and size, I find the subwoofer a bit underwhelming. Don't get me wrong! The audio is still superior to the Revolve and to the devices family members use to play beats on-the-go.
