I got this speaker about a week ago. I also received a charging cradle which I am reviewing as well. The speaker arrived almost fully charged, but I did put it in the charging cradle and fully charged it before using. Set up was as simple and pain free as it gets. Once you turn it on you go to your phone and pair it with the speaker, you get a verbal confirmation from the speaker that it is paired. Once paired I played some music from my library. This is the only Bose speaker I've ever owned, and I was amazed at the sound quality. This speaker sounds like it is much bigger than it actually is. It is around 8" tall and about 3-4" in diameter, it feels quite substantial, weighs around 2-3 lbs. Deep bass, nice mid tones, and screaming treble give this speaker a sound that will fill a good sized room easily. It's hard to believe so much quality sound can come from such a small speaker, but it does. I have used it to listen to music, audiobooks and podcasts. All of which sound incredible on the Bose. I can't give enough if a recommendation for this speaker. It is worth every penny.

For 2017 BOSE has released a couple new wireless bluetooth speakers. Both the SoundLink Revolve and the SoundLink Revolve+ allow you to wirelessly send sound from your bluetooth compatible device (phone, tablet, computer) to the small portable speaker. For this review, I tried the smaller SoundLink Revolve. Upon opening the packaging, I was surprised how small the speaker is. It's about the size of a can of soda. This lends itself pretty well to its portable nature. I plugged the speaker into the cable and the wall wart for a charge. There is a charging dock, but that item is sold separately. I highly recommend getting the dock if you plan to move the speaker to different locations frequently. Having to replug the charging cable every couple of days becomes a little bit of a nuccessence. After the charging session, I was able to pair the speaker with my iPhone without issue. It wasn't as seamless as devices that including Apple's new W1 chip, but bluetooth pairing is pretty simple these days. I think the days of troublesome pairings are gone for most quality products. First thing I tried was some music from Spotify. I was pleasantly surprised with the sound. It wasn't too bad. Maybe good for a dorm room or an outdoor patio space. The 360 sound was nice but I typically shove my speakers in a corner somewhere, so that functionality is often lost. Sound is very particular to each person and the type of music they listen to, so it's often hard to cover too much of that in a review but this does a nice job in a small form factor. I'm a little surprised in 2017 that BOSE hasn't added WiFi functionality to either of the Revolve speakers. I'm not a huge fan of having to leave my phone near the speaker whenever I want to listen to something. There are other products in a similar price range that play 360 degree sound and can stream music and podcasts from service providers wirelessly over your wifi network. I feel that overall this speaker is really intended for the BOSE fan who needs a portable speaker where there might be no wifi signal. Maybe a beach, a hotel room or a backyard patio far away from a house. The sound and charge life are good, just feel the whole package could have been a bit better.

Real great sound quality. My only complaint is that I don’t think the battery life truly lasts 12 hours. More like 6

ok product for small room recomended for small rooms

Great speaker, until it died 60 days after the warranty expired. I have purchased multiple Bose products over the years - I have a pair of 501 speakers that I bought in in the late 80's and they still sounds great. I do not expect any product to last 35 years, but this speaker lasted 15 months, When it worked, it worked very well. Now, it doesn't work at all, so I have to give it 1 star.

Great speaker, the only con is that the bass is not as strong as other bose Bluetooth speaker same price range.

The speaker sounds great and the price was great on sale. This was a Father's Day gift for my husband and he loved it!

Got this item for my wife. She loves it. But she did mention it becomes not as crispy at higher volumes

It's a good speaker and has a very flexible use. Encountered some problems with Bluetooth connection.

Love this little thing. I was surprised with the amount or power this speaker has. When I first held the box I was kind of curious to how it was going to work out. I have other Bluetooth speakers. I've always kind of gone with the bigger the better approach. By even just the package I could tell it wasn't going to be bigger... it was heavy. Still not bigger. Yet, it turned out to be 100% better. I seriously mean that. Sturdy and powerful. It charged pretty quickly. I like that it doesn't have to stay connected like most speakers. Making it possible to tote wherever I go. Even came with its own charger but the charge port is pretty universal. I still didn't risk charging it with anything but the charger that it came with. Like I said. It charged quickly. Maybe an hour and a half to 2 hours. Oh and this thing is a beast!! Perfect 360 sound. Perfect. I have played everything from Classical music, rap, and country all the way to Rock and many more. Literally, all kinds of music. Easter Sunday we had a nice little kick back and my mom was washing dishes dancing and singing with me. Just making memories. I love taking it wherever I go. Since its water resistant, I felt comfortable hanging out in the hot tub with this sitting next to me. My daughter listens to her music on it as well especially since It is incredibly easy to use. Power button, volume up and down, button for aux or bluetooth, and the multifunction button. Press once to pause, twice to skip forward and 3 times for back. Also if you are in the kitchen and your phone isn't in reach, you press once on the multifunction button, wait for a beep and ask whatever you need to know. For example, "how many ounces are in 1 cup?" Then get a clear "8oz are in 1cup" response. Simple and practical. I love that I can carry such powerful sound with me. Not matter where I am or what I am doing. Playing catch with my boys. Bam. Relaxing in a bath.. bam. Oh and I have a meditation app that I have used through the speaker. I cannot explain how phenomenal this speaker is. Bigger isn't always better. I was wrong. Do not judge a book by its cover or a speaker by the box. The charge seems to last me all day and even through the night as I use it for a clean noise while I sleep. Perfect. Absolutely perfect. The quality is beyond measure. I no longer need multiple speakers for many rooms. Not when you can carry it to whatever room you want to be in. Better than all of my big speakers and nothing about it is a hassle. I even love using the Bose connect app. I have it for my earbuds and have now connected it to this speaker. Super easy!! As a picky person. I have to say that I highly recommend it to all music lovers or anyone who watches movies... scratch that. I recommend it to anyone and everyone.

the speaker was purchase to go way with my Mac. the speaker lacks the Bose bass that I have come accustomed to, and as far as linking the speakers for the surround effect forget about it. you have to connect thru Bose connect app and they don't have a desk top version yet. it works with my iPhone however I have problems connecting it sometimes to the other speaker.

I unpacked the speaker and it still had about half a charge, so it was ready to try out. I have the cradle too, so I went ahead and set it up to charge while I read the brief manual. There's not much to it, power it up and it was already set for English, so I held the select button and it was good to go. I had the Bose charge app already installed on my Google Pixel, since I have the Bose wireless earbuds. I fired up the app and it saw and paired the Revolve speaker. I was just going to test the speaker with a Stephen King audiobook. I ended up listening to 7 chapters. The sound is rich and I'd like to say more than I expected from such a small unit, but it being Bose, I'd expect nothing less. I enjoyed the time I spent with the trial run and I look forward to what else I can do with it. I don't believe it works with a pc, but I'll be reading the reviews as well as research what this little thing can do.

Sadly, when I attempted to connect two of these speakers to my iPod I could not get them to switch to stereo mode. When I called the people at Bose, they sympathized, but could not offer any answer to my problem. On the surface they are good speakers. They just won't work as I want them to with my iPod.

The Sound Link Revolve is a great speaker. It produces clear and amazing sound. The volume capabilities and deep bass make listening to music very enjoyable. The speaker was very easy to set up and only took a couple minutes. The size of the speaker is perfect for listening to music anywhere and an added bonus of it being water resistant is great. It charges super fast and tells you the battery level when holding down the power button. While it does not play phone calls through the speaker, it does let you know who is calling. All around a great speaker for any music lover.

Sound is good but for Bose product I think the product falls short.

I am an audiophile and I love music. I have been around BOSE and their products since I was a child. Let me start off by saying that there is nothing on the market that is even close to this product. If you know nothing about Bose, you are in for a very pleasant surprise. This speaker may look small, but the sound quality is absolutely awesome. Both at high and low volumes there is virtually no distortion. You will not believe the clarity, sharpness, the lows, the highs, and the amazing sound that this little power-house puts out. The unit easily paired with my laptop computer, portable headphones, as well as my Iphone 7 plus. The unit is completely portable, so feel free to bring it into any room of your home, or play your music outside. I have played the unit for several hours and still had battery life. No complaints here. I do have the "cradle" that Bose sells as an add-on. I usually keep the speaker on the cradle to charge. The speaker has a built in handle on top of the unit, which makes it very convenient to move the speaker anywhere your choose. Bose definitely has a winning product. Delightful to own.
