I purchased the speaker for my husband for Father's Day. He loves it!

The Revolve feature, the multidirectional distribution of sound, that helps it to fill a room with sound also results in a bit of reduced crispness as the sound ultimately bounces off opposite walls and such.

So you're looking for a quality Bluetooth speaker to take with you to a party, use outdoors, or simply jam in your listening space. Well, the Bose Revolve+ Soundlink Bluetooth speaker can certainly do all of those things, but can it do them well? BUILD: First off, the build quality is no less than what I expect from a Bose product. They definitely know how to balance durability, weight and aesthetic. The Revolve+ is a great example of this. It takes a minimalist, elegant approach to its design that doesn't make it look like it belong's to a teenager. Rather, I'd say anybody can enjoy the aesthetic of the Revolve+. The fact that it's water resistant is also great, as it should be safe it you splash it water. That being said, DO NOT submerge it in water—it's not water-proof. The included handle is also excellent, as I can comfortably carry it from one room to another, or even hang it up. Alternatively, I can set it up on a 1/4 -20 tripod mount. FUNCTIONALITY: The Revolve+ is very easy to use. You can pair it with multiple devices and switch between those devices at a press of a button like many of Bose's recent products. I can't confirm how many can be paired in memory, but if it's like other Bose products, you can have 8 stored in memory and 2 paired simultaneously. There's also a 3.5mm jack in the unit so you can connect devices via wire if you like. You can also use the device for phone calls if you like. The last interesting feature here is that you can get an optional charging cradle that will allow you to charge the Revolve+ by sitting the unit on top of the cradle. It works pretty well, and I haven't compared charging via standard microUSB versus the cradle, but I imagine that they're no different in speed since it uses metal contacts instead of qi wireless charging. It's a slightly more convenient, but for most, you're better off without it. SOUND: So here's where the Revolve+ falls short. This thing gets louder than my other Bluetooth speakers, but at a cost. From what I've observed, the Revolve+ has dynamic post-processing that essentially performs some equalization, compression, etc. What this results in is a sound signature that changes as the volume increases. At 50% volume, the clarity is acceptable, but as you start to get around 75%, you'll notice that songs that have a "hot" master and no dynamic range will be battling against themselves. The bass frequencies will sometimes cut through vocals, and sometimes the vocals will tear away at the bass. THE GOOD NEWS is that if the Revolve+ is anything like its other recent products, the Revolve+ should be capable of firmware updates, which could alleviate these issues. But overall, this product runs on the bassier/warmer side. If you listen to acoustic music or music without hot masters that are more "spacey", you may actually enjoy the Revolve+—but only if you enjoy more bass. While I cannot currently give a recommendation for this product at the moment, Bose does listen to its customers; I believe the issues I have with the sound signature can potentially be alleviated through a firmware update.

sometimes the volume buttons don't work on the device... not sure if it is a setting issue. But for the price I would hope for a little more volume & a little better sound.
