Customers enjoy the SoundSport Free True Wireless Headphones for their excellent sound quality, comfortable fit, and long battery life. The charging case is also well-received for its convenience. However, some users have experienced connectivity issues, find the design to be bulky, and feel that the price is not justified by the product's performance.

If you primarily use headphones for talking on the phone.....don't buy these. The sound is only in one ear piece when using the phone.

Bose throughout my life has been a great "speaker" company. These earbuds were average @best. Difficult to fit, sound below what I would expect from Bose.

Hello DoubleB, thanks for your review.
Sorry to hear that you're experiencing issues with fit and sizing - this is certainly highly unusual. The SoundSport Free headphones come included with three differently-sized StayHear+ earbud tips, in Small, Medium and Large sizing. We recommend taking the time to test using all three different sizes to find the most comfortable fit as this will not only enable easier fitting of the headphones, but also improve audio performance and quality as this will ensure that audio can be heard correctly through the headphones.
Thanks once again for your continued support in our existing products!

Has Potential

These are some of the most unique headphones I have ever used. That being said, they are targeting a specific group of people in their current stage. I would not recommend these to anyone using them for casual wear when trying to use the connected device with them. There is a massive 1-2 second delay from audio/video synchronization. However, these headphones have amazing sound quality. When working out (running, cardio, weightlifting, etc.) they produce incredible sound quality to keep you determined and focused on the workout. The headphones are extremely light and often I forget I have them in. There are some few crucial parts about these headphones that draw back from their full potential--
1. Left headphone connectivity: Sometimes when listening to music, the left headphone will disconnect and not reconnect. I have learned to resolve this issue is to replace the headphone back in the case to reset connection. After a few attempts of this, the headphone no longer lost connection.
2. Audio/Video Synchronization: This is the biggest drawback of these headphones. Although Bose stated they released an update to correct this, it has not fixed the issue at all. Watching a video with these headphones is near impossible because of the delay. I use my headphones for everything such as working out, watching videos, and taking calls. If you are not intending to use these headphones for videos, then these are the headphones for you!
3. Taking calls: This is not a major issue, however, when receiving calls on these headphones, audio will only come from the right headphone and not the left.
Besides these few issues, the headphones are phenomenal. If these cons can be fixed, these would be a slam dunk for Bose. Amazing quality and comfort for the price. The battery life is outstanding as well. with the case, they last me throughout the week averaging 2-3 hours of use per day. If you are a training athlete, go to the gym, or like to listen to music when studying then get these headphones! you won't regret it.

Hello Chip,
Thanks for providing a review of the SoundSport Free wireless headphones. We're sorry that you're disappointed. The headphones were designed for single earbud usage during phone calls only. This is a limitation of Truly Wireless Technology where right earbud is unable to send call audio the left.
We appreciate your feedback, and if you ever need our assistance, please feel free to reach out to us again!
Take care,

Big upgrade over the competitors

My first impression of these were that of, these are no different than the competitors, then the reality set in. Bose has more use time than any of the competitors. 5 Hrs vs 1 to 2hrs with others. The only drawbacks so far is that they are more geared towards Iphone users over Android, and the Bluetooth connection is good but not great. But once more gadgets and upgrades with Bluetooth 5.0 are in abundance then its great.

Can't turn ambient mode off - amplifies wind/noise

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
Ambient mode is necessary and great to have, but other Bose wired products (e.g. my quietcomfort wired) allow you to turn on/off ambient mode where it passes external sound through to your ears. With these you can't turn it off, so if there is any noise (airport) or wind (outdoors), the external sound is amplified and dominates. Essentially useless unless you are in a quiet place with no wind. I reported to Bose right after purchase with no response.

Best True Wireless earbuds yet!

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
I am not a huge fan of Bose since I find their audio to be quite flat. inside the box you get earbuds for large and small, Micro USB cable and a case which also charges your earbuds for 2 whole charges which means you get 15 hours of total playback when you include the earbuds last 5 hours on one charge plus the 2 extra from the case. These are also the longest I believe that I have tried with others reaching only a top of 12 hours of total playback. You can also download an app on the Play store or App Store called Bose connect which will easily pair the buds to your phone instead of going through pages of settings to do it.
As far as sound quality goes these aren't bad at all and I actually do enjoy them. The bass is there and they don't really bleed into the mids and the treble isn't screeching.
If you want true wireless earbuds or buds to work out with I would totally recommend these to anybody.

Hey Brent! Sorry to hear that. You should get 5 hours of wireless audio listening from these headphones on a full charge. Are you not experiencing this? I'd recommend trying a different cable for charging, and to also reset the headphones as shown at https://bose.life/2tgvKtu. Please reach out to Bose directly at https://bose.life/38Q1vZs, if things do not look to improve. Thanks, Sam - Bose Customer Support
