Customers enjoy the SoundSport Free True Wireless Headphones for their excellent sound quality, comfortable fit, and long battery life. The charging case is also well-received for its convenience. However, some users have experienced connectivity issues, find the design to be bulky, and feel that the price is not justified by the product's performance.

Hello, and thank you for taking the time to share your review of our SoundSport Free headphones!
We're sorry to hear that you were unhappy with these, and that these didn't work with your Smart Watch.
These headphones are IPX4 rated, meaning that they are water and sweat resistant, and will continue to operate when exposed to water. We would not advise using these in conditions where you expect to be expose to large volumes of water for prolonged periods of time, and these are not designed to be submerged.
These headphones run Bluetooth version 4.1, on the AAC and SBC Bluetooth Codecs, meaning that this is compatible with most devices that run this. If this did not pair with your Watch, we would recommend that you try and pair this to the phone instead and play to the headset this way.
We hope this helps, and have a great day! bose

    Missed The Mark

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

This was my third wireless earbud I tried out. Unfortunately Bose really missed the mark on these. These don't filter out any background noises. When using them on chats and phone calls the people on the other end can hear everything in the background making them impossible to use for anything except listening to music. As someone who wanted something versatile to be able to listen to music, take phone calls and use them on things like Face time, Ventrilo, Discord, Skype and such they become worthless. Another issue is the fact that only the right ear takes calls/skype so in other words you can't use the L one while the R one charges up, you are basically stuck using both and charging both at the same time. Sound quality? What I have come to expect from Bose the sound far surpasses competitors like Gear IconX 2018, Beats Powerbeats3 HOWEVER; there is little sound quality difference when compared to Apple AirPods. Apple hit the mark on the sound quality accompanied by the excellent background noise cancellation and icing on the cake is they are $100 less than Bose. If Bose had worked harder on making these better equipped for talking I would have chosen these over the AirPods for the very slight sound quality but moreso for the fact that they have the ear grabbing support that makes one confident that they won't fall out, something AirPods lacks unless purchased aftermarket. I think if Bose goes back to the drawing board for the background/noise cancelling I would be interested in trying them out.

      Hi Patricia,

Thank you for providing your review of the SoundSport Free wireless headphones. We are sorry to hear about the trouble you've experienced with your headphones! The StayHear+ Sport tip lets the earbud rest comfortably and securely in your ear.

The tip wing fits just under your ear ridge.

      1. Insert the earbud so the StayHear+ Sport tip gently rests in the opening of the
      ear canal.
      2. Tilt the earbud back and tuck the tip wing under the ear ridge until it is secure.

    Truly Wireless

Traded my wired Bluetooth JBL headphones for these Bose wireless headphones yesterday, and I have to say, I have not found one bad thing about it. I have found myself wanting to keep them in my ears since I don’t have to worry about pulling the wire to one side because the mic/controller + the ear bud weighs down that side. These definitely define True Wireless headphones. Definitely loving this pair compared to all the “wireless” headphones that I’ve previously owned.

These are like an alternative to airpods. They are 2 individual earbuds with great sound and a case that will give them a recharge before searching for an outlet. I really think they sound better than my beats but they kind of press in my ear so they are not the most comfortable. Also I am worried I may lose them. They do have a find my bose feature but not sure how well that workd and would not want to find out. Setup is simple with an easy to use app like all other Bose bluetooth products and you can name them which is nice. Overall I like them but your comfort may vary.

    Overpriced

If it were not for a couple flaws these may be worth $200. First, if you plan on buying these, update them before you use them with the Bose Connect app. This solves many issues people are having. I came into Best Buy looking to replace my Airpods as they are an original set from almost 2 years ago when the Airpods were released. The batteries are not holding like they used to. These Bose Soundsport Free buds caught my eye and being an owner and adoring my Bose QC 35 over the ear headphones I decided an extra 40 bucks might be worth it. COMFORT - These take some hours to break your ears into them. You need to use a big enough rubber earpiece to maintain a proper seal as that gives you the best sound characteristics. By doing this you will no doubt experience uncomfortable feelings from your ears but it will pass. They are bulky but after hours of use you won't notice them. Not once did I have one fall out. SOUND QUALITY - I will tell you the sound quality is better than my Airpods. This statement only applies if you use the proper rubber insert for your ear as I noticed a big difference and degrading quality with inserts that did not fit as well. The bass on these is fantastic and when I say fantastic I mean it's just enough of that Bose warm bass you are used to without over doing it like Beats tends to. My biggest gripe with these is the sound delay from the source. This makes videos unwatchable. My understanding is only the right bud is paired with your device and the left bud pairs with the right bud so it makes sense the time discrepancy with all of that business happening. However others are doing it with no delay for much less money. I watch a lot of YouTube and this completely shatters your ability to watch videos, the delay is a full second or more... I might recommend these for $100 to $150 but absolutely not at $200. I knocked 2 stars off for the items I mentioned above. I took mine back and exchanged them for another set of Airpods that I use with my iPhone XS Max and Note 9.

I would 100% recommend these headphones to anyone who enjoys jamming to music while working out. My workout routine typically consists of running, lifting weights, and HIIT style cardio workouts. These headphones stay put in my ears and don't move at all; I hardly realize that I have them in because I don't feel anything. The sound is amazing, in typical Bose fashion. My only complaint would be the price but I still feel as though these headphones are worth the price.

You might be like me and believe Bose would never put out a bad product. Well, that's far from the truth. Just Google bose soundsport free left ear bud and see the results. I wish I had. The Bluetooth connection is not stable on any of my devices. It drops in and out depending on the position of my head. If I put my phone in my left pocket forget about the headset working. Treadmill? Better keep that head locked in the forward position. Move your head left or right and good bye sound. Seriously, they are junk. Do a Google search. My review will be backed up by countless other people that got taken. Also, why do they stay on when you put them in their case. You get a phone call and the ear buds pick up the call. Ugh, poor product testing. On the bright side, when they work, they do sound great.

I love these headphones, they have a great quality of sound! My music sounds amazing in them. I really love that they are wireless, it has made working out at the gym so much easier. I don't have to worry about dropping my phone and getting tangled in wires anymore while working out. It gives me the freedom to go all out with my work outs. Excellent Headphones

I really enjoy using these headphones. The sound is well balanced and clear. The headphones sit well in the ear and very comfortably. After a while, you forget you have them on. The unit does not block out all sound around you, but then again, it's not supposed to. My only negative on the unit is the battery life. 5 hours is just too short. Granted I can use them in the morning at work, charge them up during lunch and use them again in the afternoon. The charging case really helps with this as it gives you more time when you need to charge on a whim, but that charging case is just one more thing to carry around. This is the only reason I give it 4 stars (really more like 4.5 stars). If the battery life was at least 8 hours, I would give this 5 stars without blinking an eye. I recommend this headset to those that want a comfortable fit and feel in the ear, and great sounding audio. you'' learn how to deal with the battery life.

    Sounds Amazing, But...

These absolutely do not disappoint as far as sound is concerned. Not only was the quality amazing walking around NYC but it was equally matched in the noisy subway. I was amazed at how I could almost be in my own little sound world with these on. Battery life is great and the cool charging case is a very nice plus. These were incredibly easy to pair up with a few of my Bluetooth devices and the app is easy to use. I loved the option to have the app name your buds. Mine became "Skillet Boy" which I found amusing and kept. Now, the negatives: No matter which size earpiece I tried, these were simply too big to stay in my ears, securely. I had several instances where I was worried that these would fall out and I'd lose one or both. Also, they stick out too far to be discreet. In fact, I made the joke that I looked like Frankenstein and that was not that far off. I loved the idea of not having wires pointing the way to my device, especially while navigating the city but, these buds were so big they defeated the purpose of keeping my valuables hidden. For me, personally, these were a no go but, the sound being completely unmatched, I'll definitely keep an eye out for a smaller version, in the future.

    Left Ear Sound Loss

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

STRONGLY URGE TO READ THIS SOMEWHAT LENGTHY REVIEW Bought my earbuds in August 2017 and enjoyed them very much because the sound quality is exceptional. They’re not noise cancelling (I’ve seen many people buy them for this reason). Their not the loudest headphones I’ve had but they still get the job done. The reason for the three star review is because recently the left ear bud has turned off during my bike rides. The left continues to work but the left plays no sound. I press the Bluetooth button on the earbud and it has difficulty to connect. Usually when it turns on it only stays on for a few moments before disconnecting again. A simple solution to this problem is to connect it to the charging case, but I mostly use the earbuds during bike rides and workouts so this is extremely inconvenient for me. If you are interested in buying them for a similar use then I would recommend buying a different product.

    Not Your Average Ear Buds

The Bose Soundsport Free headphones come in sturdy packaging like Apple and Logitech's high-end products. The ear buds themselves are stored in an enclosure that is a charging station--and the metal contacts line up and a light comes on by each side to let you know they are properly placed for charging. A provided USB cable connects to the exterior of the case and there is a progressive LED lights system to show the charging progress. It took less than 3 hours to recharge. The little quick-start instruction book tells you to download the app for your phone or other device and walks you through the Bluetooth setup which was pretty simple. The app has the ability to control volume, auto shut-down time, etc. and also has an equalizer for tweaking the sound.. Now, for the ear buds themselves. There are controls on the right headphone for the basics like volume up, next rack and so forth--but the controls are much easier through the app or the music playing app on the phone. (The Bose Connect app doesn't have it's own music player.) The ear buds have small, medium and large soft rubber-like interchangeable ear-pieces to fit every size person. When I switched the default medium ones to the "large" I discovered that I now had much deeper, richer bass that escapes your ear if you aren't using the right one for your ear. The earbuds were very comfortable, even after 2 hours of solid listening. The sound quality is fantastic. You can tweak your sound spectrum with the equalizer with preset sound schemes to suit your ears or your music (Live Stage was nice) or adjust as you see fit. I was amazed at how even Motorhead sounded so rich and textured. The app has a "find my ear buds" component which shows on a map the last place the software knew they were connected, and also has the ability to chirp tones through each ear piece for finding them in your house if you have forgotten where you left them. At retail of $249 these may be on the high end for some people but if you enjoy music with headphones and want truly wireless, comfortable ear buds with big quality sound these shouldn't disappoint you.

I have gone through many headphones in my life, including earphones. I have never liked any as much as I truly love these! They are super comfortable. Pro tip: Check the sizing! I had to switch to the small, because the large ones were far too big and hurt my ears. User error for sure. As soon as I switched down a size, they were amazing. The noise cancelling feature mixed with the clarity and balance of the audio was incredible. I have had many headphones and none of them have come even close, even my big, bulky, expensive ones. I found myself using these at night getting ready for the next day, at the grocery store, traveling in public transportation, and so many other places. They easily lasted me a day or two with moderate use. (I'm a busy person.) One relatively small problem: I can not lay down on my side or sleep with them. It's really just not possible - whatever side you are on makes that very uncomfortable. It isn't a dealbreaker for me because I also have a soft headband type headphones set that works for that specific purpose. It isn't the same level of quality, though. I would buy these again. They are consistent to the Bose brand in quality and comfort. They are way better than other true wireless earbuds (and I've tried all the major competitors) and definitely worth the price.

I really enjoy these ear buds. Yes they are large but they aren't falling out of my ears. Even with all the head banging I do. The sound quality is great. I love I can charge them so easily in the case. And charge the case to take on the go if I don't have access to a wall plug. The only issue I have is they are giving me a slight headache from the pressure in my ears. That takes some getting used to.

I recently acquired a pair of these amazing earbuds. I love the charging case and the overall concept. My initial reaction to the product is typical Bose: quality packaging, easy set-up and beautiful design. The earbuds are easily connected via the downloadable Bose app. This model actually has a feature to locate a lost earbud, which is amazing! The app also works for other newer Bose Bluetooth devices, so no need for multiple apps. Importantly, the sound quality is powerful, rich and detailed. It's not only great, but even better than most wireless earbuds that I’ve tried. The buds also work for calls and the clarity is good. Phone calls are only heard in the left earbud, so for some this may take some adjustment. Not really a problem, but different than some other wireless headphones. I really like the secure design of the earbuds and find that they are great for all activities. The isolation/noise reduction factor is perfect for music and phone calls. Different sized silicone ear inserts are included to insure a perfect fit. They fit snugly in the ear, so risk of them falling out is minimal. In conclusion, I can highly recommend these awesome earbuds. Some might be hesitant because of the price tag, but quality doesn’t come cheap. Try them out. Bose has a great warranty and wonderful customer service, so no worries. Returns, if needed, are easy when purchased from authorized dealers. Give them a try!

While the Bose name is known for being very high quality, I live in the middle of no where and my needs were a little bit more unconventional. I needed headphones that could stand up to being jostled and shaken hard. I work and train horses as a hobby. Its a personal preference to like to listen to music as background noise. If I'm in the saddle or round pen, my phone is strapped down tight and cords are an extreme hazard. This has caused other headphones to cut out and have problems keeping connection when things get bumpy. Not only did these headphones keep connection with my Android phone, but they kept in my ears even with a heavy workout, small jumps, and even a moment of having to become a sprinter when a horse broke loose. The sound is crisp, even at low volume. My selections are mostly instrumental, very little base to test it, but I am in love with the quality. No overheating (I have had a cheaper pair do this to the point of being unwearable). Comfortable for hours of wear. My one complaint would be that it did take a little while to connect the first time. Could have been user error though. Just took a while to get the my Note 8 and this set to like each other. After that it was smooth sailing. I would recommend these to anyone who needs a set that can hold up to a strenuous activity. They aren't the cheapest set but dust and sweat wont break them down in a week.

I was attended to by Carlos who needs a special mention who helped me choose, had in dept knowledge of the product (unlike most of the reps) and helped me select. I was actually going for a more expensive pair and he encouraged me to save and but the right one. Thanks Carlos (hope the people at Best Buy show you this review am indebted to you for this).
