Customers enjoy the SoundSport Free True Wireless Headphones for their excellent sound quality, comfortable fit, and long battery life. The charging case is also well-received for its convenience. However, some users have experienced connectivity issues, find the design to be bulky, and feel that the price is not justified by the product's performance.

I work out everyday and run everyday , I already own a pair of Bose soundsport pulse wireless and I love them but comparing sound quality and style this model beats my old headphones.
The quality of sound is amazing you literally hear every single note and sound . Love that they are very comfortable and the best part is that they got perfect and they don’t come off my ear.

Great Wireless Buds

I have had my Sound sport for about a month now and am very pleased with everything about them. I use them primarily for running and working out and have had no issues with them since I bought them.
The fit is great and they stay in place even on longer runs. I sweat pretty heavily so we will see about durability, but I replaced a pair of Bose Sound sport that I had for 2 years without issue. I put the extended warranty on all my electronics so if they go out I'll just get a new pair on Best Buy, or see what is best at that time. Thus far, the Bose have been the most reliable brand over the longest period of time. I went through 3 pairs of Beats wireless headphones, I had a pair of jaybird, techz (?) the bone conduction ones. ( Sound was okay but I didn't like the fit) and I have been most pleased with the Bose buds.
I don't expect studio sound quality like some of the reviews I've read, they're buds for crying out loud. That being said, the Soundsport Free have the great sound that I expect from a Bose product.
I am very pleased with the product, the size, the case, charging..everything. Unless your some kind of audiophile or something, I can't find anything wrong with them.
Hope this helps you make your decision.

Great for working out

I work out several times a week with these new Bose headsets, and overall, they are your typical classic Bose: great sound quality above all. Comfortable fit thanks to the stay hear tips. Feel solid and robust and water/sweat proof. Nice Bose Connect app to configure and update as needed. Ingenious carrying combo charging case. Could use a more intuitive on/off method (need to let them time out on their own or put them back in their case to shut them off) so the battery life could be preserved. They are a bit wider than other buds out there, the sound quality is clearly the benefit relative to other smaller sports buds, but they do stick out more than most "buds", so they can get caught up in clothing and have been knocked out of my ear a few times, so far they haven't fallen into a puddle or a gutter...
Bottom line: great wireless sports buds from Bose. Sound quality is second to none. And for working out, that is what I want most.

Bose Quality Sound, Incompatible with Windows 10
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
I've been buying Bose products since I was in middle school (a long, long time ago) and this is the only disappointing Bose product I've ever bought. Overall, the SoundSport Free headphones have good audio quality for a totally wireless headphone, but I think the flaws outweigh the benefits (if it was compatible with Windows 10 my rating would be at least 4/5 stars).
These headphones are completely incompatible with Windows 10 because of a bug which Bose was made aware of in November 2017 (if not earlier) and has failed to fix. The first time you connect these headphones they will work perfectly in both ears on Windows 10. The second time - every other time you try and use them on Windows 10 it will not work. If you're lucky, the right headphone will play audio when connected to Windows 10. But usually neither headphone will work when connecting to Windows 10. I have updated the headphones to the latest firmware, all my computer drivers are up to date, and I've tried every suggested troubleshooting tips on Bose's troubleshooting guide and Bose's community forums, in addition to playing around with Windows 10 bluetooth settings. If you want to read more about this issue (it's a widespread issue), just google it. From this issue alone, I want to return the headphones and if I am unable to return them I will probably not purchase a Bose product again.
In addition, the first time I used my headphones with Windows 10, there was a solid 1-2 second lag if you pause/resume, skip, adjust volume, etc. At least Bose publically acknowledged this issue and are trying to improve it, unlike the Windows 10 general connection issue.
I have not had a single problem connecting to bluetooth on my iPhone. There is a slight lag when you change the volume, pause/resume, etc. but it is not bad. As far as calls from my iPhone, everyone I spoke with said they could hear me well. I could hear everyone well too. However, I wish there was an option where you can play audio from both headphones while on a call instead of the right one only.
As far as use of the Bose Connect app on my iPhone it is buggy. It is functional when it comes to updating the firmware, but I have trouble connecting the app to my headphones. I will be listening to Spotify from my iPhone via the SoundSport Free's with no problem, but then it will tell me my phone is not connected to the headphones even when I am listening to the music. Then, it will take 2-3 connection attempts before it will actually show it is connected to my phone on the app. The "Find my Buds" feature on the app is nice, but the location could be more precise. It would be a nice if you could adjust how often to update the "Find my Buds" location for battery conservation. Would be nice if there was a "Find my Charger" setting in the next version.
Battery life is not the best. According to Bose, they last up to five hours. In my expirence it is more like four or less without blasting the headphones at a high volume. However, if you don't listen to your headphones nonstop for four hours you can throw them in the case for 15 minutes and it'll greatly extend the battery life. If you frequently listen to your headphones for hours on end, I'd recommend getting a second pair of headphones or buying a different headphone.
As far as audio quality for a wireless headphone they are outstanding. Audio is crisp and clear. Plenty of bass to help you power through your workouts. Definetely Bose quality audio from a wireless headphone.
These are the best in ear Bose headphones I have had in terms of fit. However, I don't think they are sturdy enough to run with on a treadmill or any type of high intesnity, agility workout, etc. I can easily see them falling out of my ears on the treadmill and breaking. They are sturdy enough to do just about any type of weightlifting exercise.
As far as the battery case, it charges well. The indicator lights for both the headphone charging status and case charging status are a nice feature. I like how you can tap the button on the case and it displays the charge level. Easy to operate. The charging cord is way too short (shortest charging cord I've ever seen). Adding even six inches to the charging cord would make a world of difference. If you want to plug the battery case into a wall (wall adaptor sold seperately), most of the outlets in a standard home are too far off the ground for the charger cord to be plugged in them unless you want your case to dangle in the air messing up the port becaus the cable is too short to reach the floor. You need a table or counter within 5 inches of the outlet or forget about using a wall adapter to charge the case and plug it in your computer instead. Wish the case was water resistant. It is a sleek looking case, but it would be nice if it wasn't engineered in the perfect shape to slide out of your pocket at the gym and lose. Would be nice if there was a clip like other Bose headphone cases so you won't lose it.
Lastly, I read someone said people call them Frankenstein at the gym because of how far these headphones sit outside your ears and how big they are. It is true they look ridiculous in your ears when you wear them. First time I saw them in my ears I immediately thought people will think I have giant black guages in my ears from far away. But I don't see much bose could do about this unless they came out with a version that wrapped around the back of your ear. They are a comfortable fit though.
Overall, great sound quality, incompatible with Windows 10, and okay battery life.
Recommendations to Bose for your future release (or perhaps maybe a special edition or SoundSport Free+): fix windows 10 compatibility issue, improve battery life, heart rate monitor (they are "sport" headphones after all), more secure fit for running, and a red color.

Great sound quality and durable. These earbuds blew me away with the idea of a great manufacturer and awesome features. Once you figure out the size of the ear attachments, it will be smooth sailing. These are great for travel and having a charger that will charge the earbuds without being plugged in is great for those long airplane rides.

I was looking for truly wireless earphones ever since I started training for my marathon. Wanted to try these as I was always a fan of Bose's sound and build quality. They were just what I was looking for. They fit well and sound amazing. There were no connectivity issues whatsoever through my long training sessions. I would highly recommend them!

Extremely Comfortable for Wireless In-Ear!

When I first received the Bose SoundSport Wireless Bluetooth Headphones, I was very impressed & pleased with the design & size of the neat charging case & the earphones themselves. However it did take me a few moments to figure out how to sync them & fit them in my ear properly. It's nice that the case has R & L indicators for which goes in what ear. The noise cancelling works wonderfully - I couldn't hear anything while listening to music. I did have some issues with connection/interference where occasionally one would cut out momentarily for no apparent reason when I wasn't even far from my phone (which is what they were connected through. Even after troubleshooting there was no clear explanation for why it occurred, but it wasn't a chronic or frequent enough problem to change my opinion of them. Overall they're great wireless Bluetooth in-ear headphones & I would definitely recommend them!

I've been wanting a nice set of wireless earbuds, but they are expensive. I've been waiting for a price drop some & finally pulled the trigger on these Bose SoundSport Free. I already have a set of Bose headphones, surround theater system, and 2 Bluetooth speakers... so I am familiar with the sound quality & what to expect from Bose. I'm not an audiophile at all, but do enjoy good sound quality & these delivered. Good, deep bass with clear vocals. Could use a little more highs, but that's with all Bose products. Still much better than other popular earbuds that only advertise the bass.

Truly Wireless Earbuds

Pros:
- Truly wireless earbuds that look and sound great
- The find-your-headphones feature is helpful when you misplace them
- Initial setup via the Bose app is simple to use
Cons:
- Can only talk on the phone with the right ear instead of both sides
- The charging case does not have an on/off feature
- The headphones do not feel as fitted as previous versions of the Bose SoundSports
Coming from the previous SoundSport Pulse, the sound is excellent for in-ear headphones! I use them daily for bike rides and while working out at the gym and so far they have been great. They are just as comfortable as the SoundSport Pulse that I own, and it’s especially nice not having to worry about a cord getting caught and getting pulled out of my ears (or losing the small plastic clip). However, I do wish the case had an on/off button so that the earbuds weren't always charging.

It’s a good product but here are the drawbacks I felt. When I received a phone call only one ear piece would work (the is designed as such and not a malfunction). The design itself seemed like a bit off as it’s sticking out of the ear.
I did appreciate the way it held on to the ear even while running (my AirPods would fall while running).
The battery life deteriorated after about four years or so. Now it works for just about 20 minutes before the battery is drained out.

Does not pair with Windows 10 devices

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
First let me say that I Love Bose products and I actually do like these Wireless headphones. However, When paired with my Android phone they work great. But when I pair them with any of my Windows 10 devices (laptop, Surface Pro 4) they will not stay connected for Music/media as stereo headphones. They remain connected as a headset, but not for playing movies, music, etc. I contact both Bose and MS support and Bose says that it has to be MS's driver. MS has tried a few troubleshooting steps with me but they could not find the issue either and suggested I provide feedback on their app so an engineer might take a look. So with no solution in the near future, I will continue to use these with my android device. I will mark the recommend friend question as no but only for those wanting to use it with a Windows 10 device. All others I would say it's a recommended buy,

Thank you for your review! We’ve heard from some customers who are experiencing audio synchronization delays while watching videos. We know truly wireless headphones are subject to some latency between audio and video, but the feedback we’ve received indicates that the product is not performing as expected. Our engineers have identified the cause for this issue and are currently working on a software update that will be made available to customers by mid-December. This update will substantially improve audio video synchronization for those using Bluetooth devices that fully support Audio Video Distribution Transport Protocol (AVDTP) version 1.3 or later. We have confirmed Apple iPhones and iPads use this protocol and we are currently evaluating other popular Bluetooth devices. We’ll provide an update to you as soon as it’s ready. You may follow us on Twitter via @BoseService for updates.

After about two weeks using my new Bose SoundSport Free headphones, I can safely say I am in LOVE. I thought I loved the original SoundSport headphones and then I got these... Great sound, very comfortable and stable in my ears even when working out, also holds a great charge due to the charging case. Highly recommend!

Bose Soundsport Free wireless earphones feel secure and have a great comfort fit. I have small ears and this is the first set that feels very comfortable with the fit. The sound does not disappoint at all.
I do find that they work great for listening but when using to talk on my phone I have had others complain they can't hear me well and my voice has an echo making it difficult to hear me speak.
I like that the Bose Connect application makes access simple, but did find at times one earphone would need charged sooner than the other or it would cut out.
Found the distance that I can stay connected with bluetooth was quite good.
For comfort and sound this product works very well and I would recommend it for the gym and listening to music or movies and the charging case makes it easy to access quickly - no zippers just pop it open and go.

The StayHear+ tip design from Bose has always been one of the most comfortable and stable earbud designs, and the SoundSport Free is no exception. The earbuds go in with one swift motion, and with no need for adjusting, they will “stay here” (haha). However, I found it strange that my ears become slightly sore after roughly two hours of continuous wear. I have used the StayHear+ eartips for many years on my Bose QC20 earbuds with no comfort issues, so I swapped the eartips and that solved my problem. It turns out, the SoundSport Free uses a slightly different “StayHear+ Sport” eartip, which is identical in design but slightly stiffer than the standard StayHear+ tips for increased stability. (The softer, standard StayHear+ tips cost $10 for a pair). I stuck with the standard StayHear+ tips because they were plenty stable for all of my gym, and track & field sprint workouts, and allowed me to wear the earbuds indefinitely… for as long as the battery lasts, of course.

I've had these for about a week now and am extremely impressed. This is the first pair of earbuds, wireless or otherwise, that haven't fallen out of my ears! I've done yoga, I've gone running, I've used my elliptical, I've lifted weights, I've had to snowblow, and I've danced around the kitchen with a teething baby. Not only have they stayed put, but true to Bose form, the sound quality is amazing, especially when using the snowblower. All I could hear was my music. The only reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars is that I've noticed there's been a few time that the sound starts to go back and forth between the ears. It doesn't last long, so it hasn't been a huge issue. Oh! And then case they come in looks super cool.

I love Bose but this is not a perfect wireless product. The headset comes with 1.1.0 version of software. After so many bad user feedbacks, Bose put an updated software to 1.3.2 to help audio/video synchronization. I heard some people had 2 seconds delays with 1.1.0 version. I gave it a try. I went to Best Buy to buy this product as my own Christmas gift.I opened a package and updated to 1.3.2 version right away. It still has 0.6 - 0.7 Second delay while watching YouTube on both iPhone and MacBook. Very disappointing. Good thing about this product is its sound quality and it seems to work best to listen to music. I returned the product after testing it with multiple youtube video and some movies on my laptop. Pray for Bose wireless headset with no delay in the near future. If you are looking for a headset to work out at the gym. YES YES YES. If you are looking for multi purposes headset ( watching video on your phone, listen to music on airplane - no noise cancellation), it will disappoint you.

Great Sound but connectivity/noise iso issues

Firstly, I enjoyed these headphones but I am giving it a 2/5 stars for several reasons.
Coming out of the box, the packaging was something that you would expect of a BOSE product. Very well packaged and well presented. Has all of the different eartip sizes and manuals/warranty info and such.
Trying them out for the first time the sound is the best of several wireless earbuds that I have tried over the past couple of months. Great, clear sound with good bass. You can almost feel the bass in your ears like you would in your chest when you listen to music in your car. That being said, they stick out of your ear quite a bit. Kind of looks like a bluetooth earpiece initially.
After about a week of using it, the left earbud was lose connectivity very briefly; however I brushed it off thinking that maybe it was my body blocking the bluetooth connection to my phone. However, within a week of this happening the left earpiece lost connectivity to my phone randomly. I reset it by putting both them back in the recharging case (which is very nice BTW) and that cleared the issue up. The next day I went for a run with them on and connected to my watch for music. The left headphone lost connectivity after about 10 minutes of using it. It went out for about 5 minutes and then somehow reset itself.
Side note: running in the wind with these is awful. Because of the way that the eartips are shaped they don't block out any ambient sound so you get the full force of whatever is being noisy in your area. The wind was so loud at some points that I could not hear the song being played.
But early today, I was attempting to connect the headphones to my watch which I have done in the past and only the right one would connect. The reset did not work this time, THUS, I returned them and received my $250 back. I'm giving this product a 2/5 because I expected them to work much better for being a BOSE product and for costing so much money.
Truly wireless earbuds still have a ways to go before they're very good.

PROS: you will be like wow when you hear them. the feel of them are nice, the wings are the best wings ive seen on any buds, find my buds integration is pretty sweet and that's pretty much it.
CONS: where do i begin, these buds are totally a miss,, bose should be ashamed, i trusted the brand for years and this thing is the biggest let down. tons of people did warned about these buds but i bought them anyways. so let's begin.
you hear static sometimes, buzz bizzz really small noises which can ruin your experience.
random disconnect. in a period of 10 mins the left earbud disconnected 3 times. bad!
the right earbud is the master, the right earbud serves the music to the left , so if there is any kind of interference you get disconnection on your left bud, it happens a lot,
the controls are nice integration but having physical buttons BUT who on hell can click these. these are EXTREMELY HARD to click. and when you do, you dont know you did until you notice the music volume change. usually in buds you hear a slight beep when changing volume these dont have that.
MY DEAL BREAKER IS: the left buds simply does NOT work during calls, i thought mine is defective but nope, they by design dont work during calls, which is absolutely unacceptable given their price and brand.
Jabras, powerbeats, sennheiser, galaxy buds, all have working left buds during calls except these.
so i think noone should get these, they actually need to remove this product from their lineup because it's simply trash. i would give minus stars but these sounds AMAZING that's why they received two stars. However, there are way too many problems with it that i could not live with it and ended up returning these within 72 hours. thank you best buy have their 14 days return policy
