they sound good as long as you only use for music but if your using there light weight and i got them because i love bose and they sound GREAT for music but for watching any kind of video there's like a 2 or 3 sec delay. and i'm sorry for 250 dollars then the protection plan on top of that price i feel that's unacceptable. and bose even acknowledges the problem as a problem that they can problem not able to fixed with firmware. they say there hoping maybe the can make it better but there not sure if the can. so i'm returning them

Hi, We are sorry for the experience you have had so far. We’ve heard from some customers who are experiencing audio synchronization delays while watching videos.  We know truly wireless headphones are subject to some latency between audio and video, but the feedback we’ve received indicated the product wasn’t performing how we expected.

A SoundSport Free software update is now available to improve audio video synchronization for most customers and use situations.  You can download the new software wirelessly through the Bose Connect app or by visiting btu.bose.com on your computer.  This update will benefit customers with Bluetooth devices that fully support Audio Video Distribution Transport Protocol (AVDTP) version 1.3 or later.  We have confirmed Apple iPhones and iPads use this protocol and we continue to evaluate other popular Bluetooth devices.  Audio video synchronization may also vary depending on the mobile app being viewed (e.g. Netflix, YouTube).  We encourage customers to use the most recent software for your mobile apps, Bluetooth devices and Bose headphones.

If you have any questions or concerns, we encourage you to contact us directly at our Customer Support Line at 1-800-379-2073. We're open Mon-Fri, 9 AM to 8 PM. Or you can follow us on Twitter @BoseService. Bose

I got this product about a month ago, and I love it! I found the process of connecting them to my phone to be a very easy experience. I used them while working out, and I was amazed at the fact that they stayed in my ears comfortably the whole time. I would also like to share that I am a person who is blind, and I use the voice over feature on my iPhone. The screen reader still sounded very clear when my phone was connected to the earbuds. I also love the range that they have. I was able to go to the basement in my home to do laundry and leave my phone upseairs, and I still had good connection with my phone. I highly recommend this product! Happy listening!

    Best Wireless Headphones out there!

I received these buds and I am so happy with my purchase. The technology packed in them is just awesome! Love the audio quality! The best for me is the Bluetooth connectivity! I use iPhone 7 plus and there has not been a single blip in the connection! I walk around the house doing chores, take it to the gym, at my office, and one earbud in when I am driving! Just perfect! I have used other true in-ear with little luck to serve all my needs. Imagine the two buds connect with the phone seamlessly! I do not know if they use Bluetooth 5 technology. But if this was based on Bluetooth 4, then I am amazed at the wireless performance achieved! Kudos!

I went back and forth for weeks about purchasing wireless headphones because mainly the cost. I finally bit the bullet and bought the Bose Free Soundsport Friday 6-29-2018 and have used them everyday this weekend. They are super comfortable, the sound quality is exceptional. The battery life has not been tested from full to dead yet so I cannot comment on that but I haven’t had to charge them yet since Friday. Bottom line is you cannot go wrong with Bose and don’t wast your money trying to save a couple dollars if you an audio quality nut like myself. You will be glad you purchased these headphones.

Opening sentence.... These are fantastic. I have put these through there paces for a few hours and wow they sound great. The Lows are really nice while keeping the mids and highs. These are Bose and the sound from these lets you know you have purchased quality. Easy to set up and comfortable to use. these are wireless buds that a true to the word. they may look at little odd but they sit in the ear really nice and done move. I went to the gym with mine last night and not to have a wire at all was excellent. If you are looking at getting some truly wireless earbuds that sound great, look great and come with that backing from Bose then you cannot go wrong. I highly recommend.. In fact... Im wearing them now writing this lol

Purchased them because I had a pair of soundsport wireless headphones and was very impressed with the sound. The sales associate was nice and recommended the soundsport free over the soundsport wireless while I was looking for another model. When I took them home the left bud lost pairing. Thinking it might be a charging issue, I placed the buds back in the charging case and tried them after another round of charging. Worked for awhile and then it lost connection again. The following day while accepting a phone call it dropped connection again. Repaired the two device's and tried again, same issue. Wished I had known that this is a major flaw in the product and that Bose is aware of the issue but still sells the product. I looked up all the consumer complaints from multiple sources. Must have been why they were reduced from 249 to 199...Im taking them back. I really like Bose but do not recommend this particular model. I think the idea is great but it needs to be perfected. Lastly, I was sceptical of the poor reviews, but not now since I have experienced the same problem.

    Best I've Had!

I had low expectations for these. I have tried 10+ running headphones with all sorts of technology. Wired, wireless, even the cheek bone conducting audio. For about two years I had been using the Jaybird X2, but while training for a marathon, I finally got tired of a poor fit and having to adjust them so frequently. I bought these Bose headphones on Saturday with my marathon the following day. I had full intentions of being disappointed and returning them on Monday. After finishing my marathon, the only way I'll be returning these is if they just flat out stop working. Pros: My goal was to find headphones that had great audio, were comfortable and I could put in and forget about them. These were flawless in all three areas. The audio is great. The comfort is 10/10 and I never once during my 26.2 miles had to adjust them in the slightest fashion. Honestly, sometimes I touched them just to make sure they were both still there. The battery did run out at about 4 hours even at 100% volume, but that is plenty for me. The charging box makes these perfect for weekly gym use etc. Unless you're going to be out and about with constant audio for 5+ hours, these will do the job. Cons: Really not much negative to say. The initial firmware update took quite a while, so if you wanted to just take them out of the box and go, you might reconsider. There was some minor interference during my marathon. The funny thing is that every time (maybe 3-4 times for just a few seconds) I noticed i, I saw someone else within 5-10 feet with wireless Bose headphones. Final statement: If you're looking for running headphones that will go the distance and you will forget they are there, give these a shot. They are on the expensive end, but are worth every penny knowing the quality, reliability and comfort you're getting.

These earbuds are amazing! The sound is absolutely fantastic for these types of headphones! They connect easily and best of all, the battery life is fantastic compared to other models! The one issue I’ve found, using and iPhone X and an iPad Pro, the only video service with audio lag issues is YouTube. No a big problem for me, but could bother others. If you’re using it with Nextflix, Hulu, Vudu, Prime Video, any other service other than YouTube, there’s no lag at all. Just wanted to let everyone know that if YouTube is not a big deal to you, these are the wireless earbuds to get!

I've read all the reviews before buying. Some say these suck for fit or lack of athletic abilities. I don't know what they consider athletic but I'm int he gym 3 hours plus per day. I'm a avid bodybuilder and sweat a lot. These are the best ones on the market. I'm a bigger man maybe that is part of it. The medium size ear pieces fit fine. I haven't tried the large yet but might just for kicks. I was very hesitant trying these beings they are bigger but you'd never know it. Way better sound and fit that airpods and any others I'd tried.

I got these yesterday. The sound is on point. If you're a fan of Bose, get them. Depending on the size and shape of your flappers(ears), they wont stick out or look as bad as people are making them out to be, other than that, they sound pretty awesome

These headphones are a great idea. The sound is amazing -- they're Bose, so of course. I love the idea of wireless, in-ear Bose. However, they really make my ears hurt. I have the smallest plastic thingy, but after 20 mins, my ears hurt. They also don't always stay in my ears when I job. That's a yucky thing. I love the finder app and they seem really durable. I just wish I could figure out how to answer the phone with them

These wireless earbuds will give you the sound quality you expect from Bose and I had no issues with connectivity and functionality but for smaller ears they are bulky and not secure at all. I returned them for that reason alone. Went with the Jabra 65T which fit more flush in my ear, are very comfortable and sound great.

Great sound when the left bud actually works.

I was very happy to see these coming out. I waited to order so I could get the blue. My wife surprised me with them for my birthday and I couldn't believe how great they sounded and they stayed in my ears without a problem. I noticed the left bud would cut out during my first workout, but it would reconnect within a couple of seconds. It started getting worse, but I found a new update and thought that would fix it. I updated them and the Bose app but I still experienced the cut out issue in the gym. Tonight I tried to go for a walk with them and they were useless, the left side did not work unless I held my hand near it or if I hung my head down. I chatted with bose support, followed their advice and tried again, still useless. I am very disappointed that Bose would release this product without more thorough testing. It is a shame because they sound great when they work. ...just don't try to go outside.

Fabulous! But *only* after firmware update

    Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

I hate to admit this but I bought this item and promptly returned it because of the video-audio lag and the bad phone sound quality. I posted a review on Bose's website and someone from Bose replied that a firmware update had been done to fix these issues. So a few days later, went back, got a fresh pair. Bluetooth would not connect so went to the support site and it said, hold down the button on the left earbud and a voice will say, bluetooth memory erased. After that it connected fine. Then for the latest firmware update: near impossible by cell phone. After quite awhile it got to 24% then froze. So back to the website, where it said, go with your desktop or laptop to btu.bose.com, download an app, hook up the case of the earbuds, case open, earbuds securely in place, to the computer. Took 10 minutes, done. Whew. Now was it worth all this? Answer is a resounding YES! These are absolutely the finest earbuds I have ever owned! I have a SoundTrue Ultra wired earbuds and this is surely better. I also own two Soundlinks, a Solo Soundbar, and a computer Companion 3 speaker system by Bose. If you just take a bit of time to go the way I did, you won't regret it. I just love these earbuds. I pulled out (gently) the medium ear pieces that came with it and put in the small, and now I even forget they're in my ears! I looked at myself in the mirror, and hey, they don't make me any more ugly than I normally am! :) :) :)

    Youtube & Instagram Apps Lag

I love the sound of these headphones. Major upgrade from my powerbeats 2s. One major issue is the video to sound lag using Instagram and Youtube apps. Doesn’t happen on Netflix or DirectTV apps. I’m debating on returning them and waiting for the Powerbeats Pros to come out. Apple has gotten true wireless connectivity down, just dont know if the sound quality will match.

Great product but has some issues still

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

As usual, these Bose headphones provide excellent sound quality. I am never disappointed by that! However, there are some kinks in this product that still need to get worked out. The sound in the left bud would sometimes go in and out during use. I was pleasantly surprised to have the buds easily stay in during workouts and running, etc. I was not worried about them falling out at all. The only other thing about these is that when I went to the gym, for example, I felt like I couldn't take them out without fear of losing one so if someone I knew came up to chat, I would take one out and hold on to it as opposed to hanging it around my neck. That may just be a personal preference. I love that it has an app associated with it and the "find my buds" feature is great! Bose is one of my favorite tech brands because I think their sound quality is great but this product isn't quite up to par with the rest of their products. However, I do believe that it is probably the best on the market right now and if some small adjustments were made, it would improve the product greatly.

While these earbuds are a little large and do slightly stick out, that can be easily overlooked for the amazing sound you get! They are comfortable and easy to put in. Once they are in, they stay in place. The sound is AWESOME as is the connectivity. The charging case stays charged for quite a few days with regular use before needing a recharge.

I like that they are small and unobtrusive. The sound quality is great, however, I did have an issue with the left one not having sound come through. It was easy to set up on the app. I was also able to pair it with other phones via Bluetooth. I felt they cancelled outside noise well. The battery life also lasted surprisingly long.

Audio lag for about 1 - 2 seconds for video

I got the earphone today and like the sound. I thought I could finally replace my qc 30. Not so fast. I got 1 - 2 seconds audio lag whenever I watch video on 3 platform, iphone, MacBook Pro, Windows 10 laptop. Later on I check the posts on Bose Community, I found that everyone has the similar issue and Bose insists it's by design and suggested every who want to watch video should buy Soundsport wireless but not Soundsport free. This is deal breaker for me because I want to watch view (like youtube, etc), not just listen to the music in the gym. I'm returning it in the morning.
