Customers enjoy the SoundSport Free True Wireless Headphones for their excellent sound quality, comfortable fit, and long battery life. The charging case is also well-received for its convenience. However, some users have experienced connectivity issues, find the design to be bulky, and feel that the price is not justified by the product's performance.

Just like Bose, the sound is great but they do not stay in your ear when you are active. The battery life is not great either.

If you have used Bose headphones in the last and liked them and are wonder if it’s worth cutting the chord i’d say the answer is yes. The headphone for similar to other Bose products and also ship with 3 different sizes to help you find the right fit. I have never had any issues with them falling out, with exception of when i’d try to wear the hood from my sweatshirt, when I did that and turn they’d occasionally come out. I must admit the size does creat an awkward feeling at first, but once you get used to it, it’s great not to have any wires. I did not use it much for video so I can’t not review that aspect too good, but for listening to music or podcasts r work great.

At first I was hesitant about these wireless headphones that didn't have a cord attachment. After my first workout I was hooked! I did a cardio workout and they were comfortable and did not move the whole time! I highly recommend this product.

Left earbud won't work during calls

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
For wireless calling I'm giving this prodult the lowest score since only the right earbud is working, the left earbud is totally useless.
For listening to music, I will say it is above average. Sound quality is good. The bass is unimpressive, surprisingly uncharacteristic for Bose.
Comfort is okay, battery life is average, value for money?.... just okay since I bought it at 149usd, had i bought it for 199 then i would say it's not worth it.

The Left side WILL lose signal ~ and not simply drop signal, but literally STOP working and all you hear is sound from the right ~ trust what EVERYONE is saying about this ~ BOSE says "we're working on it" *really?* Don't ya think you should have fixed that BEFORE rushing them to market?
C'mon now, you guys are better than this. I own BOSE headphones, earbuds, desktop speakers, sound bar .... but these? So Disappointing.
The sound WHEN IT WORKS is great, BUT GUESS WHAT ...... it should be. THAT is a BASIC expectation (no?) the 2nd BASIC expectation is that BOTH SIDES should stay connected AT THE SAME TIME ~hello? Not happy that now I have to spend time going back in to return this pile of garbage. BOSE, honestly, you guys should be embarrassed

These look good and sound good. They stick out from your ear a lot though so if you work it tight places they tend to get hit on things and get pulled out.

I got the Bose SportSound Free Wireless for my gym workout. I like the fact that I didn't have a wire connected to the other earphone of my old Bose SportSound wireless. Everything was working fine at first. Only use it at the gym and walking around. When I decided to watch YouTube on my phone, I would get a half second delay. I'm using iphone X iOS 11.2.2. Try other video apps Netflix, Hulu and video on facebook but all have this issue. It seem like the only time the audio and video were sync was with using a browser on my MacBook Pro 15 2016. But that didn't always the case.
I did update the firmware to 1.3.2 or 1.3.3 but the issue was not fix. Also when I charge the earphone it does not always register that it's fully charged and I would have to put it in the case and pull it out to get 100% register in the earphone. This happened after 1.3.2(3). The left ear would drop off a few times for a second if I use it everytime. I decided to return it at 45 days of using it and switch to the IconX 2018 and hope I get better experience out of them.
I believe these issues Bose have with the SportSound True Wireless is a hardware issue that a firmware can't be fix. Bose community forum is all upset about this issues this product have and the latest firmware that Bose says it would have been fix didn't fix it.
If you do get this product you will not be able to watch video with them. Bose can't fix this problem with a firmware update.
2 Stars for good sound and bass and fit in the ear.

Hey Feinburg!
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with the SoundSport Free's. We're happy to hear that you like the way they fit.
In regards to the lack of improvement from updating to 1.3.3, what we've found is that this update will benefit customers with Bluetooth AVDPT protocol version 1.3 or later. We have confirmed that Apple iPhones and iPads use this protocol and we continue to evaluate other popular Bluetooth devices. Audio Video Synchronization may vary depending on the mobile app being used, such as Netflix and Youtube.
We encourage you to sue the most recent software for your mobile apps, Bluetooth devices, and Bose headphones.
Again, thank you and enjoy your day! Shiloh - Bose Support

The overall concept of these earbuds is very cool bud the execution wasn't very good. There were a few things that I liked about the earbuds like how comfortable they are but there were a few things that I didn't like. I did not like how there was a delay in sound if you were watching something on your phone or even if you were listening to music. They are also very bulky and stick out of your ears really far and they don't look that good on people when you are wearing them.

I love to listen to music, videos & Netflix. My job requires very physical work so I thought these would be perfect I sometimes listen to music 8 hours per day. My expectations were very high because of bose brand name reputation. Great design just not for on the go active wear. So easy to use my 6 year old grandson had no problem. I love the hardcase & extra battery pack. After prolonged use my ears were sore. I would buy these again I just wish they stayed in better

Questionable battery
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
I bought the Free after having severe issues getting a consistent seal with Powerbeats Pro. The Free is easy to use and Bose’ EQ adjustment is much less noticeable than their over ear set I tried before
The biggest problem I had was battery. I charged the case and earbuds 100%. I went for 4 runs (30-45 mins. each) and each time, it said I had 100% battery left in the earbuds when I finished - I figure it’s like the old Jaybirds that gave incremental readings and never heard anything less than 100%. After those 4 runs (let’s just say 4x45=3hrs), the case wouldn’t light up. I thought something broke already! I pulled the buds for run #5 and it said they had a mere 35% charge left (maybe they read 5% increments?). I plugged the case in and found it had completely run out of battery! The buds are supposed to hold 5 hours and the case is supposed to add 10 hours, so why, after ~3 hours, is the case dead and the buds are down to 35% battery!? I had to return them. I’ll revert to my standby Powerbeats Pro and just deal with the cord until they release something better
And a couple general comments:
It’s weird to wear two buds and hear phone calls out of one. They were made that way and we’re reviewed that way, but I don’t know why the firmware updates haven’t added the option for both ears - we hear music out of both...
The Bose app could really use a new hook. After pairing and initial explore, it just wastes phone space. Beats don’t need an app - just pair, and if there’s a problem, go to their web site. Just saying...

5 star sound, 3 star connectivity

I had numerous connectivity issues between the L and R earbud. The BT connection with my S7 Edge was great. However the connection between the L and R earbud would drop multiple times during a workout. Causing a loss of sound in the L earbud but not the R. Only for a brief second or 2. Then it would connect back. For $200, this is a HUGE problem. This was even after the most recent firmware update. Returned and got the regular Soundsports.

Thank you for your detailed review of the SoundSport Free wireless headphones, dbdragstar. We appreciate your feedback and we're sorry to hear that you experienced difficulty with the headset's Bluetooth connection. The signal flow from this model will go from your connected device to the right earbud, and from the right earbud to the left earbud. Due to this, it is important that you avoid any added interference from objects such as Wi-Fi routers or heavy clothing. We recommend keeping the source device closer to the right side of your body, and always ensuring that your headphones, the Bose Connect app, and the apps you're using for video and audio are up to date. We hope that you are enjoying the original SoundSport Wireless, and we will certainly pass your feedback along to our engineering team. Thank you, and have a great day! Jesse - Bose Support

Hi!
PROs:
• Good Sound quality.
• Sweat resistant (IPX4) only.
• provides Firm ware updates.
• Audio controls, Play/Pause button, previous track and next track controls.(airpods doesn't have volume controls, but play/pause and controls are hit or miss most often for airpods).
• Decent battery life(not the best though)
CONs:
• Painfully heavy for ears(due to the compact size and design, they are bit bulky, heavy and are painful for using more than 10 - 15 minutes) I barely used them twice or thrice in around 8 months.
• Only one earbud works for calls, not both.
• When i updated the firmware recently, and connected to my windows 10 OS, it installs 2 types of drivers - the one with Hands free AG Audio in Audio settings gives good quality audio output from only right earbud, but the second one with stereo option gives decent quality audio output from 2 earbuds but audio is out of sync[delay of 1/2 seconds] from the video)
• Only Noise Isolation, but no Noice cancellation. Not good enough.
• Definitely not worth the price - too many caveats for too steep price. It was $200 when my wife bought them for me.

Good Sounds and bass quality. Expected of course cause they're Bose. But the noise cancellation was terrible. I use the types headphones for working out and while doing chores. But when I'm on the lawnmower, I can hardly hear them at all. Had to turn them up full blast to compensate, but still couldn't understand when listening to talk radio. If you want them for using to stop outside noise, keep shopping.

Thanks for taking the time to write a review on your SoundSport Free wireless headphones, Hosstility. We're glad to hear you've been enjoying the headphones' sound quality and bass. The SoundSport Free are engineered primarily for exercising, and the ear tips provide a bit of physical noise isolation. We are not currently carrying a model that is both sweat-resistant and that features active noise cancellation. We truly appreciate your feedback and our engineers are always working to improve our products. Thank you again, and have a great day! Jesse - Bose Support

Not worth it
Posted .
This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
The biggest issue is that the headphones disconnects from your phone for no good reason, hours at a time. They will disconnect, reconnect a minute later, then continue that cycle for long periods of time. Today it has lasted my entire work day, hence this review. Originally I’d thought it was an issue personally, until recently a family member with the same set confirmed similar issues. After reading reviews online, Ive been coming across more users with similar issues. Just another brand charging more than the effort they put into their product, you’re better off buying AirPods. The shape is very bulky, sticks out very much. The configuration for the play, skip, rewind is very inconvenient. The play button isn’t in a good place, doesn’t register half the time when you push. Also the left piece does not even work without the right headphone. I’ve heard AirPods have it to where you can operate both separately, after hearing that it made my decision to buy a pair myself very much easier. Overall just not worth the price you have to pay for headphones.

Worked well for few weeks then the left earbud kept dropping sound and wouldn’t re connect.
Googled it and it’s a massive issue it seems.
Gave up in the end and sold them ,
Otherwise they fit well. Sound is awesome as is with all Bose products.

Like most Bose products these sound very good and are made very well. 2 Major issues though. 1. The sound from phone calls only comes through the right side. 2. When using them on phone calls outside, the person at the other end of the call hears lots of background noise. Almost too much to make them usable. I cant recommend these unless use with a phone is not important.
