They were talked up so much yet..
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've herd about Bose headphones for a couple of years now and finally decided to buy my first pair. I have to say, I'm pretty disappointed. The sound quality is amazing, it's very clear, I feel it's a little quite and the base is so mellow it's almost non existent. I was not expecting crazy base like Beats headphones or Sony's new headphones with amplified base, or anything like that, but a little more to really feel the music. It lacks noise cancellation, and this being the first pair I've ever purchased, they are already starting to go out. What ? I purchased these on 1/13/16 , I always put them back in their case when I'm done with them and make sure they are in a safe spot. I take very good care of my headphones and the other day when I was running, at one point they started to become staticy then the left side went out. I will go back to Best Buy and exchange my pair so hopefully I can change my review . I would recommend these headphones to someone who didn't care about the lack of noise cancellation , and preferred clarity over overall sound enhancement.

Might be good for movies...but not the gym
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Although the design of the ear bud is very comfortable, the sound quality while playing music at the gym is comparable to the headphones that came with my samsung galaxy, with less bass. The cord is also a little too short to leave your phone in your pocket (I'm 6' tall). They aren't sound isolating, so you can hear what is going on around you, but it also means the sound is less full. I'm planning to return them.

Posted .Hello Will. We are glad to hear that you enjoy the comfort of our SoundSport headphones. While the headphones do not contain the noise cancellation technology of our QuietComfort models, you should be getting some passive noise reduction by the nature of the tip design.
We'd like to show you a helpful Youtube video that illustrates the best fit for our tips. That should help with bass response as well:

If you continue to experience low bass from multiple audio sources, we'd suggest giving our support team a call and we will find a solution for you. We want you experiencing the type of sound quality that Bose is recognized for worldwide. You can reach us at (800)367-4008. We are open Mon-Fri from 8:30 AM to 9:00 PM EST and Sat from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Great headphones
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love these headphones. I bought them to use at work and they are perfect. I had an older set of Bose in ear headphones and kept losing the tips (they easily would come off). Not with these. To get the tips off you need to actually want to remove the tips. The sound is pretty impressive as well, I love the highs and the lows are not bad considering you don't need to jam them into your ears. That is another reason I bought these headphones, the in ear headphones you have to squish into your ears are just not comfortable for me. Overall a great purchase.

Meh. Disappointed even at $40. Greater Fool Theory
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My officemate (who used to spend way too much on premium high-end items to try to impress people, then would borrow money from me to pay for gas) raved about his Bose earphones. I tried his one day and wasn't impressed enough to spend over $100. When I saw these for $40 on an early Black Friday sale I decided to bite the bullet and try them for myself. Even at less than half the price, I still came away more than a bit disappointed. Some background: I'm admittedly no audiophile, and I'm a cheapskate. I have a pair of cheapo Walgreen's earbuds that cost less than $5. They are flat-corded (unlike the Bose) so they NEVER tangle, and they have an inline mic (again unlike the Bose). I was so impressed with them I went back and bought several more. I'm glad I did, because I lost one pair on an airplane, and had to throw away another when the inline mic ripped off and the wire pulled out. But that's on a $5 pair, which I had for well over a year and used almost daily for conference calls. And I still have at least three more in reserve. I have several others, but I always seem to go back to these. I wish Walgreen's still had them on sale. I'd have felt much worse if I'd lost or destroyed a a fancy $100 set of Bose earphones, or even a $40 set. The Bose silicone buds (I had the default Mediums on) still let in much more outside noise than I would like, which was incredibly annoying on a long airplane flight. I didn't have the spare buds to try while I was on the plane, and I'm pretty sure I would have dropped and lost at least one while fumbling with them. I later tried the Large buds after I got home, and they seem to sound a bit better but still don't entirely block out the dishwasher running in the next room. They're also a bit fiddly to fit into my ears, especially the pointy little "Spock"-like things. The molded-in "L" and "R" letters on the phones themselves are very difficult to read, especially in low light, and as there's no inline mic (I knew this when I bought them), so you have to just somehow know which is which. The sound on the Bose is obviously good, admittedly more rich. But they're not 8 times better than my cheapo Walgreen's earphones, let along 20 times better. I'm not a super-booming-bass kinda guy like those who get Beats Audio (which I have also never tried and will also likely never get, even at a reduced price). But I would have expected a bit more from the Bose. Admittedly I've never had another Bose product, other than a Bose stereo in my Mazda3 which I only had for a couple months before it was totaled. And while I miss the car, I wasn't impressed with the bass in that car either. In fact that was a common complaint among owners. I think Bose is an example of the Greater Fool Theory. Bose makes these only a bit better in quality and features than average earbuds, then sells them to people who are slaves to the name and status which the name conveys. I must admit I fell into this trap this time. Maybe if these were flat-corded and/or had an inline mic and/or were fully in-ear for better sound isolation, I'd be more convinced. Even if it had even one of these added features (which again, my Walgreens set has all three of these). But it's just another set of fancy-schmancy earphones which are overpriced, and in actual practice don't impress me any more than Skullcandy or even Sony. They're my ears, and my dollars, and I was fine with what I had. I could have lived my whole life without these and been perfectly happy. I probably won't return them just to avoid the hassle. But I'll bet I see a lot of these on ebay after Christmas though. In fact you'll probably see mine up for sale - hopefully I find a Greater Fool to buy them.

I don't always review products, but when I do..
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I don't always review products, but when I do.. I surely like them. First off, this is coming from someone who has DESPISED IEMs (In-Ear-Monitors). That statement already shows my audiophile bias..tee hee. Most have never stayed in my ears. Big tips, small tips... They fall out, no proper seal. Hated them. Even IEMS with "over the ear clasp" don't provide proper seal, so i'm left with a sub-par, un-isolated loose sound and constantly attempting to re-adjust whilst working out, casually sitting. WHAT ARE THESE???? Well, these are F***** good. Good BOSE quality, Low end is there. Even though these don't technically "go inside your ear drum, they do feel that way. The rubber vertical piece that fits behind that wierd flap in your upper ear i thought would be a gimmick.. NOPE! It fastens that bad boy right in there. I've tried other products (beats, cough, don't buy) and they just fall out. I can break-dance in these things and not worry about them falling out. It's almost like BOSE took time to test and engineer the Human EAR. If you like good* sound and something that just doesn't fall out...these are for you. No these aren't noise cancelling, but honestly, do you really need noise cancelling with 50% or more volume??? And to the reviewers who say these don't produce the necessary "amplitude", you are completely wrong. IEMS themselves are not usually powered so your "DEVICE" is the one that has to provide power via their respective AMP. I'm using on Galaxy S5 backup device and Nexus 6P and there is PLENTY of amplitude at 50%. Don't believe the haters, seriously, they know nothing about sound dynamics. Go grab these if you want a quality product that stays in, feels incredibly comfortable for hours, and sticks to the BOSE philosophy. Bose did not pay me for this review, but they should. Also try the Bose Sound link Mini and Mini 2, Best Bluetooth speaker in their respective classes bar none. (sound dynamic is redic) Experience: Producer/Engineer/ Mixer/ Performer

Nice but Quiet
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These fit nicely in my ears and don't fall out when running. They do seem really quiet though. I've had to turn the volume up double the setting that I've used for my other running headphines (Yurbuds) Because they are so quiet, makes them nice for events that "discourage the use of headphones"...as you can still hear race announcements and general surroundings pretty well.

Flat sound
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Was excited to pickup a set of Bose headphones. Always heard great stuff about Bose. Was very disappointed with the flat sound of this product. I tried Pandora music to see if it was the quality of my music and it still sounded the same. Sad it turned out this way. Will return to store Comfort was pretty good. Can't complain there. Also the carrying case that comes with it is nice.

Disappointing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased these earbuds in December of 2015 so i've had about four months to get myself to love them, but I just don't. I've been a Bose lover for as long as I can rememver but these earbuds are a major let down. The sounds quality is great, however the noise cancellation is non-existant. You can literally hear every little sound no matter what it is whether it's a car driving by or the clink of weights in the gym and it really disturbs the music to the point where sometimes I hear the noises more than I hear the music. I've tried all 3 tips that come with the earbuds but none of them have helped me at all. Like I said before I love Bose, but it's just disappointing that I prefer a $35 pair of JVCs over these. Maybe i'll try Bose again when they come out with a new design.

Posted .Hello there. Thank you for the review. We appreciate the feedback and are glad to hear that you are enjoying the excellent sound-quality of the SoundSport headphones. They are a great option for exercising as they're more durable and moisture/sweat resistant. For noise-canceling, we would recommend a set of headphones like our QC20 which use active noise-canceling to block noise.

Excellent for what they are for
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These Bose Soundsport headphones are excellent for what they are made for, that is, using while doing leisure things or for gym/workouts. They are not "audiophile" quality, but are more than adequate for gym time or around the house. The flexible "wings" help keep everything in your ear so they aren't flopping about everywhere. They also do not fit all the way into your ear, so you don't have the pressure that some in-ears cause. They also do not seal out outside sound, so you might have to turn them up a little, but I think Bose has compensated for that with their sound. They also allow you to hear traffic and other crucial sounds you might need to hear. Overall a great purchase!
