We would usually advise that you check the bass and treble settings for the source that you are using. If these are set to extreme high or lows, then this has a negative impact on your overall quality.
We would also recommend that you visit a Bose store prior to purchasing the headphones to trial these and ensure that you're happy with the audio quality and comfort!

Unfortunately, they fall short in two critical areas. First, they're not especially efficient. They're loud enough on my iPad, but I have to turn my iPhone almost all the way up and my Samsung phone all the way up to get decent volume. Also, the bass is weak even for earbuds. Several of my other pairs, including some that cost less, have better bass, including the stock Apple ones. These are going back.
