I love to listen to music while jogging and working out. I've always used wired earbuds where the wire would get in the way or the earpiece would not stay put from the sweat. Needless to say I was eager to ditch the wires, and I could not wait to see what the Bose Soundsport Pulse Wireless headphones had to offer. The headphones come packaged very nicely with an outer cover that slides off to reveal a hard black protective box with the headphones inside. In addition to the wireless headphones, the other contents include a usb charging cable, a zippered pouch to store the headphones, a total of three sizes of ear tips (the medium size tips are attached to the headphones, while the large and small tips come in its own plastic packaging), and supporting documents (warranty information, safety instructions, user manual). With three different sizes of ear tips you will hopefully find the one that fits. The headphones are secured to the ear with the combined action of the wing tip that attach to the ridge in the ear and the oval shaped part that is inserted into the outer ear canal. The material of the earpiece is silicone. I was surprised at how comfortable and light the headphones felt, almost forgetting that I was still wearing them after several hours of having them on. Bose is known for comfort and these definitely do not disappoint. Upon putting on the headphones you will notice how much of the environment you still hear through the earpiece. The earpiece fits snugly in your ear, but without forming a really tight seal. These headphones are not designed to isolate ambient/background noise, only slightly muffling your surroundings. However, this is an advantage not a disadvantage as someone who exercises outdoors will tell you. While exercising outdoors you will want to be able to hear your surroundings especially being able to hear vehicles when crossing streets or if someone engages you in conversation. If you are interested in active noise canceling wireless earbuds, Bose has the QuietControl 30 earbuds. The headphones have an inline remote with microphone and buttons for playing/pausing/skipping tracks and adjusting volume. The buttons are stiff, so you will have to press with a bit of force to get the button to respond. The mic works well. People on the other line heard my voice clearly. The audio quality of the Soundsport Pulse wireless headphone is impressive for a bluetooth headphone, given the inherent data compression and sound quality losses of bluetooth compared to a wired set of headphones. There is a good balance of high, mid, and low frequencies. Bass is powerful and tight without being overpowering. Overall sound quality is crisp. I'm sure there is some quality loss, but I was unable to discern any appreciable loss in sound quality compared to a wired set. The lithium ion battery lasted me a little over 5 hours of listening pleasure. This is right in line with the spec of 5 hours per charge. The remaining battery life is indicated by a computerized female voice upon powering up the headphones, or alternately by a battery meter in the Bose Connect app, which can be downloaded for free from the app store. Now to get to the 'Pulse' part of the headphone. These headphones are distinguished from the Bose Soundsport Wireless headphones by the 'Pulse' in their title. There is a heart rate sensor that is embedded in the left earpiece. It works with many fitness apps, but I tried it with the Bose Connect app. Your heart rate is conveniently displayed on your smartphone or tablet and you can monitor it during or after your workouts. It a nice feature to have for your workouts. With respect to wirelessly pairing the headphones via bluetooth or NFC, I found no issues when pairing to my android tablets and smartphones. The headphones paired seamlessly with no drops in connections. You will hear a computerized female voice when pairing and connecting the headphones with your host devices. With the Bose Connect app, the voice can also be programmed to one of several different languages. Okay, so how did these headphones actually do in practice during my jogging and workout routines? They work very well. Through sweaty jogging sessions and workout routines, they stayed securely on my ears. I was able to listen to my music, while being able to hear my surroundings. The headphones are comfortable; I did not have to make much adjustment when exercising. And best of all, the audio quality is superb and the fact that it is wireless, made the workouts that more enjoyable. In summary, the Bose Soundsport Pulse wireless headphones set a very high bar in terms of audio quality and comfort. They are priced at the higher end of the market, but for those willing to accept no compromises in audio quality and comfort, and desire a set of wireless headphones that can deliver through demanding workouts, these headphones should be at the top of your list or already in your shopping cart!

I recently received these earbuds for review and I have to say -- these are my new favorite portable bluetooth earbuds. They are BY FAR, the most comfortable bluetooth earbuds my ear canals have had the pleasure of experiencing. I thought long and hard on whether to give this product 4 or 5 stars and ultimately, I had to give credit where credit is due and gave it 5 stars. I will touch on why I contemplated docking a star at the end of this review. Sound: Flat and mostly neutral with tight, crisp bass. I was floored with the level of vocal clarity on these buds. The instruments also sounded very crisp. Due to these earbuds sounding neutral and utterly clean, I feel they are best paired with dance, pop, hip/hop, progressive, and classical type music genres. Rock still sounded great but the aforementioned genres is where these buds really shine. The bass was also impressive to me because it was not overwhelming and did not sound muddy. Nor did it overpower the vocals or instruments. These have quickly become my new daily driver and I haven't picked up my other leading competitor headsets since I got these. Comfort: As previously mentioned, the silicone included ear tips are simply second to none. They are the most comfortable headsets I've ever used. I used these at work for several 6 hour sessions and not once did they bother me. I also liked that it never felt like they got sweaty or heavy which is something common when wearing earbuds for long periods of time. I also like the included clip on the back part of the wire which allows you to effortlessly clip them to your collar. This kept them secure and allowed me to let them dangle over my collarbone (when not listening to music) without having to worry that they would fall at some point. Functionality: The heart rate sensor was a nice touch. You have to use the "Bose Connect" app to see your heart rate bpm. This is a great addition considering these are "sport" headphones and will likely be used in a gym. The built-in pause/play & track buttons work great, however, there is a little side to side play when you press down on the forward/reverse track buttons. Would have been nice to have more rigid buttons but it's a minor gripe. One of my favorite features is how fast the earphones turn on and off. You simply hold down the power button for about half a second. With other competitor bluetooth earbuds I've tried, I have to hold down the power button for about 3-4 seconds to turn it on/off which can get a little annoying over time. Construction & Design: The earbuds are made of a premium plastic and feel sturdy enough to take a beating. They don't exactly exude top notch grade materials, but they feel like quality earbuds. However, here is where I almost docked a star for this product. The earbuds are rather....large. At least compared to other competitor sport headphones. Due to it's bulky form factor, it's somewhat lacking in the aesthetics department. With all that said, they surprisingly stayed on during several workouts involving high intensity cardio. Surprisingly, albeit it's bulky construction, they are incredibly light and never fell out. If larger earbud housings is the small price I have to pay for the type of sound that these headphones deliver, I have no problem with that. Battery: Battery is good overall. What you'd expect from Bose. Nothing ground-breaking, but it easily lasted several 6 hour sessions at work. One thing I did love is how fast it charged. Plugged in for about 15 mins and it went from a "very low" battery to 60%. Accessories: Came with an awesome black and red Bose carrying case with an easy to open zipper. The headset came with three different silicone earbud sizes; small, medium, and large. Also comes with a standard USB cable to charge the headset. Overall, I don't think other current competitor headsets hold a candle to this one; at least in terms of sound. And yes, I have the other two major competitor "sport" bluetooth earbuds. If you're looking for some of the best sounding bluetooth buds on the market that you can use for your workouts, or even stationary listening for that matter, I would check these out. Don't forget that these also have a heart rate sensor which I think adds even more value if you're using them at the gym or other workouts.

    Bose vs Beats

Pros: Comfortable fit, great sound, and heart rate tracking. Cons: Battery life could be better If youre looking at these bose wireless headphones, chances are that you are also looking at the beats wireless as well. Both are similarly priced so why should you get one over the other? Owning both pairs, I can tell you that both the bose and beats wireless are great headphones but with a few key differences. For the next few points, I will be comparing them against one another. Fit Winner: Tied Both fit pretty well. The bose fits within the ear while the beats fit over the ear. Both do a great job in keeping the ear buds in while working out, running, etc. I do find that putting the bose into my ear a bit more easier than the beats. Both comes with small, medium, and large ear canal cones to ensure a great seal. Battery Winner: Beats Beats has a rated 6 hour battery and the Bose soundsport pulse has a 5 hour rating. This is probably due to the extra power it takes to measure your heart rate. Still plenty of battery life for going to the gym, around the house, etc for a few days between charging. Sound Winner: Tied! I'll explain. At first test, my Beats are tons heavier in bass. This is a character Beats are known for. But they lack in mid-tones and hours upon hours of listening could get tiring with the heavy bass. Bose on the other hand, are more balanced. Still have bass but not as much as the Beats. Still more bass than the standard iphone headphones. Do you want more bass or an upgrade in sound to the iphone OEM wired headphones? Features Winner: Bose What the Bose had that the Beats doesn’t have is the ability to read your pulse. It uses a sensor that touches your inner ear. I'm not 100% sure if that’s more or less accurate than a wrist or chest mounted strap but it does read my heart rate in real time. Compared to my Apple Watch and Polar Watch with chest strap, the Bose has a faster heart rate refresh rate and all within a beat or 2 from one another. The Ultimate Winner: BOTH! The Beats and the Bose have their own special uses. When im running and just want to get a few miles in, I reach for the Beats with the heavy bass. I listen to high energy pop music so the Beats' bass keeps me motivated. When im sitting on a train or a buss, I reach for the Bose as the more balanced sound is more ideal but punchier in bass than standard headphones. When im on a cardio machine looking to keep my heart rate in a specific zone and don’t feel like wearing a chest strap, I reach for my Bose to keep an eye on my heart rate. There is a caveat with the heart rate feature though. There are only a few apps out at the time of this review that even supports the heart rate function so your favorite workout app that tracks calories burned, etc is probably not currently supported. The Bose app simply shows your heart rate without any kind of meaningful insights. I do know it works with runkeeper app so youre in luck if you use this app. Summary: If I had to only have one set of wireless headphones, I would vote for the Bose. Its well balanced and enough bass to satisfy bass heavy songs. You wont be disappointed. I hope you found this review helpful!

I had been struggling to find wireless headphones that I truly enjoyed using while exercising. A variety of negative aspects about previous wireless headphones, whether it was poor audio quality, unreliable connection, or uncomfortable earbuds, had disappointed me. The Bose SoundSport Pulse wireless headphones have not only solved those issues but become my new favorite headphones to use in and out of the gym. The first aspect I want to address is the audio quality. Being Bose headphones, I expected great audio quality, and they do not disappoint. I am amazed by how clear and powerful the audio sounds. Many over-ear headphones have impressive audio and, until now, I had not used earbud style headphones that could compete with the powerful bass over-ear headphones are capable of producing. The Bose SoundSport Pulse headphones have impressive bass and high-quality sound. The next aspect I enjoy about these headphones is the comfort. When I am focussed during my workouts, earbuds falling out of my ears can be a frustrating problem to have. With these headphones, I no longer have to worry about them staying in. The comfort and stability allow me to focus on what I am doing instead of trying to keep the earbuds in or needing to frequently adjust the earbuds because of comfort issues. It is also good to know that the headphones are sweat and water resistant. The last few aspects I like about the Bose SoundSport Pulse headphones are the remote and the heart rate sensor. The remote is located on the right side, and it allows you to quickly adjust the volume, pause or skip songs (forward or backward), and take/make calls. While on the phone with someone, they said they could hear me clearly, so that feature seems to work well. The left earbud has a built-in heart rate sensor, which can send data to many different fitness apps. This is a nice touch since these headphones are primarily for working out. Additionally, your heart rate can be seen in the “Bose Connect” app, which is available for iOS and Android. A neat feature of the app is that it helps you quickly pair and set up the headphones. Sometimes pairing wireless headphones can be a hassle, but setting up the SoundSport headphones was a quick and pleasant experience. As I mentioned, the Bose SoundSport Pulse wireless headphones have become my new favorite headphones to use in and out of the gym. They are powerful headphones with the convenience of being wireless. Additionally, they are comfortable and stable in my ears. I would highly recommend this product to anyone looking for excellent workout-friendly headphones.

Normally I wear over the ear headphones, simply because every type of earbud I have tried just could not give me the full sound that I have come to know and love from my over the ear cans. I was a bit skeptical that these would be able to give me that full sound I have been looking for in a earbud. I have to say...these come pretty close. If the device you listen to your music on only has a flat EQ setting..you might be disappointed. But if you are able to tweak the EQ you can really bring out the highs and mids and lows in these earbuds. They wont rattle your head off with bass, but they did a very respectable job reproducing some serious low end on some rock, metal, and even rap tracks that I listened to with them, and sounded crisp and clear while listening to come classical and jazz tracks. They do also get very loud. Cranked up, they were uncomfortable to listen to...so if you like to blare your music loud...these will work for you (although I don't recommend it) As far as comfort goes, these fit in my ears very well, and wouldn't fall out even if I vigorously shook my head around. Just make sure you get them in all the way. For battery life, I was getting around what they advertised as 5 hours. But your results will vary based on how loud you have your music etc... They also have a built in heart rate sensor which I found to be fairly accurate. I tried it against my Gear S2 smartwatch and they were both giving heart rates that were within 2-3 beats per minute of each other. Overall, these are a very nice set of earbuds for both just blocking out the world to listen to music, or to use while working out with decent battery life They come with the USB charging cable. Small, medium, and large earpieces. Carrying case and manuals.

These have pretty good sound and the fitment is nice for my ears. I use these at the gym which is why I opted for the pulse. The pulse is hit and miss seems to be better recently but I wouldn’t recommend these for that purpose. The really disappointing thing is the build quality for the cost of these headphones. Maybe a month in the wire cover on one side fell off and shortly after the other side came off. Now the rubber cover on the volume switch is coming off. Definitely not worth the money!!

When the package arrived and I picked it up and I was surprised by the weight. The box was heavier than I had expected. (I had really expected it to be feather light considering these are sport headphones.) Inside: Soundsport Pulse Wireless Headphones with medium ear pieces attached, a zippered case, USB cable, one set of small ear pieces, one set of large earpieces and of course associated paperwork. The ear pieces are also marked right and left and with an “S” for small, and “M” for medium and an “L” for large. The earpieces are very easy to change from one size to another on the headphones. I immediately went to my laptop and it was super simple to pair the headphones and fire up my music. In true Bose fashion, they sound great! I went through several different songs of different music genres and the sound was excellent in all cases. These are not noise canceling headphones, but I turned the TV on with the volume slightly louder than I would normally listen and I could not really hear it unless the music got quiet. I would think you could wear these on an airplane and do pretty well and they are much smaller than over the ear headphones. I also gave them a workout to see how well they would stay in my ears if I were active. I whipped my head around pretty good trying to dislodge them but they did not fall out! There is a clip on the wire that connects the right side to the left and it appears sturdy and able to keep the head phones from falling on the ground if they did fall out of your ear. When connecting to your device the headphones let you know the percentage of the battery life and there is a volume control and pause button that you can use to also skip forward and back through your song library. My laptop was in the family room and I walked through the kitchen and dining room (around a corner) and into the living room before starting to lose the signal. There is a free app for your phone called Bose Connect. The app tracks your heart rate. When paired with a cell phone, you can use the pause button to answer calls. The sound quality for calls is quite good and I was told that I sounded very clear on the other end.

I am rating this Bose product at 3.5 out of 5 stars. These Bose SoundSport wireless earphones are comfortable in the ears and can be worn for a long time with little to no ear discomfort. It is necessary to choose the correct size of silicone earbud for the best comfort, as using too large of an earbud, causes the earpiece to feel cramped in the ear. The battery lasts for around 5 hours, depending on overall listening volume, but the charging time is fairly quick. These Bose wireless headphones have good quality sound that you would expect from a Bose product. Both the left and right headphones are easy to hold and almost seem like they were designed to have small handles on each headphone, making each headphone easy to grab and place into the ear. The Bluetooth pairing process is quick with these Bluetooth headphones, once the headphones have been paired with a device, they connect quickly after being turned on. There is a micro USB cable provided, but no USB charging adapter, that was kind of unexpected, a USB charging adapter would have been nice. These headphones were designed to wrap around the back of the neck area, but I found that allowing the cord to dangle down in front of the shirt area, is another way to wear the headphones, which allows the microphone to point closer to the mouth. There is a flap that is covering the micro USB charging port on the right under side of the Bose SoundSport headphone, once the flap is pulled out, it cannot be turned to the side very far, which makes plugging in the micro USB cable slightly challenging at first When reviewing a product, and deciding upon an overall rating score, I figure in the selling price of a product, I feel as if there is not much to these Bluetooth headphones, and so I feel as if the selling price should kind of reflect that. The build quality and design perfection of these Bose SoundSport Pulse headphones, is almost certainly better than the current market competition. The Bose Connect app allows you to adjust the power off at various lengths of time when no signal is detected, and it is also possible to switch the powers saving mode off. The Bose Connect app displays the current heartbeat detected, and the app also allows firmware upgrades to be wirelessly streamed to the headphones. These heartbeat functionality of these Bose wireless headphones, can supposedly be used with other fitness apps. If you are looking for a comfortable and good sounding pair of Bluetooth headphones, then the Bose SoundSport Pulse wireless headphones are a good choice.

I have been using these for the past couple of days and am very impressed. Pairing, as with most bluetooth devices, was quick and easy. The default silicone tips fit well in my ear but Bose provides two other sizes to ensure a fit for everyone. I was able to complete a grocery shopping trip and mow my lawn without them falling out so they are well designed for stability. While they are not noise-cancelling, I was able to listen to a podcast at reasonable volume while using an electric lawnmower. I wouldn't expect to be able to hear over a gas mower, however. Sound quality was excellent, as you would expect from Bose. Battery life seems great, considering how small they are. I went from 80% to 60% after using them for about 2 hours. When you turn them on you are audibly told what the battery life is at which is a Bose feature that I love. They come with a nice carrying case that takes up very little space (pictured next to an iPhone 5 for scale) when you are packing them up for travel. Bose provides a free app that you can use these headphones with that will allow for heartbeat tracking, which is just one more bonus feature. Overall, I am very happy with these earphones and look forward to using them for years to come.

I fell in love with these things the moment I opened the sweet box that they come in. They were super easy to pair with my Note7 and they sound great. I really like how secure they fit into my ears, and I have worn them for about 2 hours at a time and my ears do not hurt after wearing them. You do get three different sizes of ear things and I stuck with the mediums that came already attached. After about 1 hour of music playing (loudly) I had about 90% battery left after a full charge. These will easily last a few workouts. I really like how it will tell you how much battery is left when you turn it on. It will also tell you what device it is connected to, which might come in handy for some people. My only gripe so far is how far they stick out of your ears when you have them in. But its really not that bad. They also come with a nice little carrying case.

This is my first pair of Bose headphones so I was very excited to try them out. Sound wise for both music and speech is very good. The details from music are impressive and so is the bass. Connectivity to blutooth devices is easy and their app for more detailed sound control is also nice. Fit is just ok but they are comfortable. Now the bad, these are not going to work for very active activities like sports or running. For walking they are ok. Even when just jogging a few steps across the road they tend to fall out of my ears. For a product in this price range I expect a little better performance especially when they are promoted towards active lifestyles. Overall I would recommend them only if you plan on using them around the house or for walking. For anything more active, I'd look for something else.

These are a good pair of headphones. I don’t consider my self an audiophile but definitely someone who is very particular about good sound quality. These headphones work great in the gym. They do not fall out while doing kettlebell swings or weightlifting. Their sound quality considering they are Bluetooth is very good. They provide a good range of highs lows and mids. I listen to a lot electronic and even at high volumes they do not distort at all. The volume is good enough for me but some people who really want it to be loud in their ear might find it lacking by a couple of points. The battery life is good lasts about 4 to 5 hours. Sweat doesn’t cause the sound to mess up. I do enjoy the heart rate feature especially when you install the ua record app it gives u a lot of good information. So overall I do really like them. If you are just interested in listening to them at home then I’d say look at something else since the sound is very good but it could be better. However if you want something that is steady, reliable, very good audio and the heart rate monitor it is a good package. Bose has a good overall sound standard which they keep and it’s noticeable in this product.

The fit was great the sound was great. I purchased 5 different headsets tried them all. I tested comfort I didn't see how these would stay in my ears but i jumped up and down shook my head left and right. Normally ear buds fall out of my ears i have strange ears i guess but every set of ear buds i have ever owned i had to keep pushing them back in but not with these sound quality was great deep base sounds like surround sound hooked up to my tv and syncs with multiple devices at the same time. The best part is when i need to be quiet i can connect my headset to the tv with Bluetooth and have great sound and not bother anyone else in my home. Talking on the phone great everyone can hear me better then ever and when im talking to my phone to write and email or message it works 10 times better then using the phones built in mics. Then talking on the phone with background noise. There is none i vacuumed and the other party on the other line had no clue the vacuum was on but heard me perfectly. This headset has a 5 hr charge 15 minutes gives you an hr charge. It retails for 199.99. Its weater and sweat proof and has a heart rate monitor in it which works on a few 3rd party apps and bose app but its very accurate. Bose also has an app this headset can sync with. the bose that go in your ears are better smaller better sound and stay in your ears perfectly and i have never had a headset where the ear buds stayed in but these are perfect.

Sound Quality is superb. Heart Rate Monitor is pretty accurate. Similar readings to what I get on my Garmin fenix. The size looks big but when you put them on, you do not really feel them as they are light. In my several runs outside, the sound sport pulse never fell out. If you love the ear bud way inside your ears, this is not for you. If you like a light set of earbuds that sit somewhat outside but never fall out, these are great.

On the Jenny Craig plan exercise is key along with diet. The key to exercise is repetition and habit. Weight loss has to be sustainable and the feeling has to always be there. Bose can play a great part in this process and they did with my exercise routine. I searched for the ultimate exercise companion and the Bose Soundsport Wireless Pulse is it. One thing that activates my workout is good sound. Often sound is compromised because the product has to be sweat resistant and water resistant. Bose designed the Pulse to be this product and have great sound for the gym. This product is purely dedicated to the gym experience. When working out in the gym, I need to be able to hear around me as well as enjoy my music. The gym is a busy place. Its also a great place to get motivated and feel great. Having the right music and the right headphones make it more enjoyable. The Stayhear tips offered with this unit are easy to install and use. They don't fall out of the ear during workouts. This is a huge advantage with this unit. Soundsport Pulse's best partner is it's separately sold $49 charging case. This case makes the Pulse the ultimate accessory because it's easy to get a quick charge. I strongly recommend purchasing the Pulse with the case because it will elevate the convenience and experience. Let's talk about the sound of the Soundsport Pulse. The active eq system offers great sound at all volumes and good sound inspires a good workout. I get a great balanced sound Bose is known for. The heart rate feature is great and I have used it in the third party applications. Although the Bose application is real time, the other apps can make great use of the heart rate readings which makes this unit a great upgrade over soundsport wireless. This is one of the most important devices I use daily. Without it, exercise isn't as fun. With the iPhone experience this is essential.

I've tried a lot of headphones for working out and these by far, fit better than most and they have difference size ear pieces, which is great because OTS headphone rarely fit my tiny ears. However, I noticed that when I wear these outside to run, when the wind hits me head on I can hear it whistling in the headphones so I have to turn up my volume. I don't have that issue with other headphones that are lower profile because there isn't any wind friction. But with Bose technology, these stick out so the wind hits them making them not great for outdoor exercising on windy days. If you are an indoor workout person, then they'll be great for you. Again, not low-profile so you could hit them with certain movements if you aren't careful. The sound quality is good, the comfort is good, and they are lightweight, which is good. Hopefully the next gen can be smaller so they are more aerodynamic!

Comfortable, dependable, and good quality. People I talk to on the phone using the headphones say it sounds clear and loud. When I play music they sound great. The heart rate monitor is useful and the app is simple.

I just bought the headphones today, so all I can comment about is my first day experience. The product was well packaged, and they came with a 70% charge. I was able to connect with my iPhone 7 immediately with no problems, and it began showing my heart rate. I also own a fitbit HR on my wrist, and the Bose product showed a slightly higher heart rate than the fitbit, but the ear reading is suppose to be more accurate, so all appears good with the heart rate reading so far. I then connected the wireless headphones heart monitor with the runkeeper app, and did a 30 minute jog. Everything worked flawlessly, and the only thing I noticed was a few skips in the music, which I assume is from just being wireless. This is my first wireless set of headphones, so I don't have anything to compare it with. The run keeper app. showed my continuos heart rate, and appeared to work very accurately, and Never disconnected or stopped reading my heart rate. I have owned several pairs of Bose ear buds, and the sound and fit is excellent as usual. The wireless ear buds never felt like they were even close to falling out. I also did a phone call using the ear buds, and they worked great on both ends. I know it has only been one day of use, but so far I LOVE THEM. $200 seems pretty fair for a wireless pair of head phones with a heart rate monitor. If they continue to work great, this will definitely be a X-mas gift for my daughter.
