    Bose Quality, Terrible Battery

    Posted .

I'm gunna keep this short. You get Bose quality sound on a terrible battery life. If you forget to charge these, you're boned. Plain and simple. The battery life is absolutely terrible, I cannot stress this point enough, and because of this I highly recommend going with another product, even if the sound is worse, if it has better battery life. The battery will make using these headphones a headache for you, I promise you that. I don't know how they let this slip past quality control, but you will not get 4-hours of playback, at best you will get 2 1/2 hours. Enough for one trip to the gym or a plane ride or whatever you do. After every use they MUST be charged, or you'll wind up no headphones for whatever it is you brought them to.

    They Fell Apart Within Months

I reviewed these back in January or so. I still adore these headphones, they are so comfy and the sound is superb! It's only been about 6 months or so and they are falling apart, The volume button is coming off and the watertight seal around the actual headphone is coming off . These are not cheap headphones whatsoever and I would've thought they'd last longer. Hopefully I can get them fixed or something but these headphones are just at half a year old and they're pretty much done for. That's not acceptable whatsoever,

    Wanted to love them

I'm a big fan of Bose, and have had their other offerings. My Powerbeats by Dre got stolen at the gym, so I thought I'd give these a try. I really wanted to like these. They look great, and the sound is what you would expect from a Bose product. The setup was extremely easy, and I found the Bose Connect App useful as well. However, these things are large. It honestly looks like I have 2 Bluetooth headsets on that are connected with a chord. They stick out from my ears, and are very bulky. I do have a relatively smaller head (Size 7 fitted hat), so that may have something to do with it. If they were maybe 50% slimmer, these would have been an out of the park hit for me. Sadly, I will be going back to the Powerbeats, for the simple fact they look much slimmer and natural while wearing.

I think they're superb, these are my kind of audiophones I could only ask for some sort of high-fi or recording studio twist to them. Other wise I think they have a nice right and bright rich sound. to them if you don't get this then I would suggest tinkering with your devices Eq settings.

Anyone who works out frequently would appreciate these headphones. I have used other brands of wireless headphones in the past but none have been so comfortable and durable. I use the headphones during various workouts and have not been disappointed in their performance.

    Classic Bose Quality

Bose are never a surprise. Always excellent balance and quality. You get what you pay for and these are worth it. I had bought a pair of Jaybird 3 and was SHOCKED at the flat, terrible sound quality for $129. Took them back and got the Bose for an extra $26. PERFECT

I walk about 1-2 hours a day, and this wireless has the quality sound that is expected from Bose. There have been no cut-outs. It is easy to pair and operate. Blows away the other wireless I used previously that was a pain to pair and to operate. Bose rocks!

    underwhelmed, at best

I should start by mentioning that I've owned other Bose headphones (QC20, QC25), as well as the wired soundsport - both the version with the microphone and iPhone controls (which my wife uses) and the version that are just headphones (which I use with an iPod for running). I've also been using Bragi Dash headphones for about a year, which are wireless earbuds without the cable joining them. Those are imperfect, but on the same scale I'd give them 4 stars to the 2 stars I give the Bose Soundsport Wireless. This is tough to write. I wanted something with stronger signal and a better fit than my Bragi Dash headphones for long runs, which drop signal occasionally and with which I find myself fiddling more often (every 3-6 minutes) to nudge it back into my ear canal than I would like. As I never have that fit issue with any Bose headphones, I figured these would be no exception. And I was right, they stay in my ears. This is about the only good thing I can say for these. They look beyond dorky, for a number of reasons, the least of which is the cord that connects them, which remind you of the cord that keeps a librarian's glasses suspended around her neck. You don't feel cool wearing them. If you run with it, the cable likes to bounce around your neck. There is a clip to prevent this ... but it basically just makes the collar of your shirt bounce as you run. Same issue front or back. Weak. Alright, pretending you can overcome the cable that connects them, there's the actual headphone, which pokes out of your ear way farther than anything I can think of - they are about the size of the bolts on the neck of a Frankenstein costume, just the enough size that they're impossible to miss. Having owned and used over the past decade high end in-ear headphones by Etymotic, Shure, and Klipsch, three other models from Bose, not to mention the actual wireless ones by Bragi, these are physically larger and protrude farther than any others I've owned. It also contributes to unusually distributed weight far away from the grip of the stayhear tip, basically creating additional leverage (imagine holding a barbell with your arm fully extended rather than close to your body) that makes an awkward design feel heavier than it even is. So, as much as I care about function over form, and will wear anything dorky if it is simply better, this just isn't better, from an audio fidelity standpoint (with 320kbs audio streaming or lossless flac audio over bt) than a $25 wired headphone. With a case, I was into these for $200. Unfortunate, but also unjustifiable. Hopefully Bose has some truly revolutionary products in development, as this generation is one to three years late to the party (depending on what feature you were looking/waiting for). If you're under 50, or care about audio quality, or care about Bose's future as a company, let them know this product is less than what you expect from them by not buying this item. Frankly, don't consider it. I have crowdfunded better headphones, and waited for less time to receive them.

Great Soud, Not so Great Fit

I switched from some pretty basic wireless earbuds to Bose SoundSport wireless headphones. The fit is acceptable, not snug. I am not a runner, just weight lifting, but i would be concerned about them staying in place. They are a little chunky in shape, maybe not the best design. They do bring a NICE sound. Every song is fuller and puts you into a zone. Its easy to escape and focus on your workout with a surround sound that blocks everything else out. I've only worn these for two weeks now, so in time the shape and fit will probably become comfortable. ** I do like the option of skipping a song with the side volume control, a nice plus.

    Taking them back

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.

First off, they do have amazing sound and they fit me well enough that I barely notice them. That is all that’s good. The bad is that they have battery issues. For example; they said they were at 20% battery, so plugged them in. 2 minutes later the light indicates they are at 100%, I turn them on, they say 100%, turn them off, wait a min, turn back one and they are at 50%. This is a constantly occurring problem and I’ve only owned them for 2 or 3 weeks. I wish I would have done a little better research as this is a problem for MANY people. I’m taking them back tomorrow.

These headphones are AWESOME! Love the fact that I can use for different purposes. In addition, I really like the future of buds turn off when not in ear (can use one or both buds per liking). Wish they were less expensive but worth the quality!

I am on my second pair. Both of them have fallen apart in less than a year. It starts with the rubber bushings on the wire that connect to the ear units themselves. They get disconnected from the headphone and slide around on the wire. Then the metal Bose sticker on the sides fell off. I'd think it was a fluke, but it happened identically on two different pairs. I use them primarily sitting at my desk at work. If they fall apart just at the desk, I can only imagine what happens to them if you're a runner. It's a shame, because they sound really good for Bluetooth headphones. But given their propensity to fall apart cosmetically, I can't recommend them.

I love bose and all their products I’ve ever purchased have been good to me. I have never been so dissapointed with bose until now with these soundsport headphones. The description says it’s good for a “vigorous” work out and that’s not the case. I can’t even run .75 miles before these things fall out of my ears due to the sweat. I never had that issue with my Powerbeats. I have tried several of the cushions it comes with and it’s the same. Unless you’re going to be using these for flight or to just hear music the sound is Awesome. The quality is horrible if you sweat a lot and run. I run 4-5 miles a day and have a marathon coming up in December and I know I cannot count on these headphones

    Good sound, poor fit

If I'm paying $$ for sound, I buy Bose, but this is the first Bose product I've been disappointed in. None of the earbuds that come with the "Soundsport" model fit my ears correctly. When I'm running or doing other rigorous activity, or even just walking, the buds are constantly falling out of one ear or the other. I never had that problem with the Bose's wired earbuds. I've had these for a year and barely use them. In addition, the connecting wire to the two earbuds is always tangling. Now that Bose carries true wireless earbuds , I wish I had waited to purchase those. However, the new wireless earbuds look similar to my Soundsport buds. If this is the case , and the fit isn't perfect, the new, true wireless earbuds would be much easy to lose or separate. I'm not organized enough to deal with that kind of stress, so the fit is key! ;)

    Workout Fail

I have two previous models of the wired SoundSport Headphones that have served me well over the years. I was really excited to try this new wireless set. Out of the box, they were easy to fit, comfortable and secure in-ear. They worked well paired to both my Macbook and iPhone. That is the good part. The next morning, I used them on a run and 30 minutes into my workout, I started getting static in the left ear piece. Moments later, none of the controls would work. I tried turning the unit off, but even the power button would no longer work. I am not certain how sweat-resistant these new headphones really are for sport use. Needless to say, they were returned for a refund.

For the majority of customers, the SoundSport wireless is delivering on its promise – it’s a headphone that’s stable and comfortable, sweat and weather resistant, with amazing sound. But, like you, a small percentage of owners have experienced a problem, and that’s not okay.
We’ve taken every headphone returned to us and analyzed them in our labs to get to the bottom of the issue. We discovered SoundSport wireless doesn't perform like it should under specific conditions related to heavy sweat and moisture. And we now have a solution to make it work just as well in these situations, too.
Going forward, every SoundSport wireless will include this update, and they’ll be ready by the end of August if you’re interested in trying them again. Our support team can answer any questions you may about the product. They can be reached at 1-800-379-2073 Monday through Friday, 9:00AM to 8:00PM (EST) Bose
