First off this sound bar is extremely well-crafted. It's beautiful from top to bottom and left to right. It just looks downright gorgeous with tempered glass and metal dancing with each other. The black color is very masculine and adapt well with black entertainment systems. The soundbar itself is very weighted and sturdy by no means it feels flimsy, the construction is also world-class. The entire speaker grill wraps around the front and sides of the device providing surround sound. There are LED indicators on the front for the different inputs. From top to bottom this device is thin at least in my opinion. My last Samsung sound bar was so huge that it blocked the IR sensor for my 4K TV. So I had to place it on a lower level on my entertainment stand not getting the optimal sound quality. The Bose Soundtouch 300 I don't have to worry about any of that it sits on the top of level with my TV giving me the best optimal sound available. I cannot tell you how much I'm smiling and happy inside thaqt Bose made this thin enough. The engineering shows in this device beautifully, You have to admire Bose for going above and beyond with design. Setup for the device is very easy and the instructions within the box are extremely clear and understandable. You will be up and running before you know it. They have calibration headset included the called ADAPTIQ, This was the most tedious process of the setup but it isn't necessary if you are in a hurry to play with your speakers. ADAPTIQ setup process have you going to 5 different areas of the room so there could be audio calibration. I recognize that it's important to do this if you want optimal sound quality. I applaud Bose again for making these steps easy for people. The universal remote control feels extremely nice in the hand with some type of soft-touch material on the back of the remote control. Every button is clickable and easily recognizable running your thumbs across it you can easily memorize where are the button placement is. There should be enough buttons on the remote control put any modern-day entertainment setup. All of the keys you would likely use are here. If I didn't have a Logitech Harmony this would have easily been the remote I would use on a daily basis. Included on the remote is a weird thumbs up and thumbs down button. Which allows you to gives a thumbs up or Thumbs down a track in participating music services. At first I didn't use it that much but have been using it more with Pandora. It works just fine and no worries you can also use your Logitech Harmony remote with the Soundtouch 300 as the controller included is IR. You can always program keys to your liking. The sound of the Soundtouch 300 is extremely beautiful and clear. You can hear every single detail that an artist or composer from the movie put into their music. The whole room can feel the presence of phenomenal sound. I'm not sure what's going on inside but whatever it is it feels like magic! My living room felt like a movie theater with full range sound...keep in mind this is without the Acosustimass 300 Subwoofer which I will get to. This soundbar alone have a little bass that can kick but if you want the true bass you will spend a little bit more on Bose Acosustimass 300 Subwoofer. It is sold separately but I can honestly tell you this turn the soundbar into something extraordinary. The Bass from the Subwoofer is incredibly remarkable and powerful; If i were to turn the soundbar to the max neighbors from 3 Doors down could feel the Bass. I would love to talk about and praise Bose Acosustimass 300 Subwoofer but I will leave that for another review. As I write this review using Bluetooth though the speakers and they have nice, rich, immersive sound to them. Also on board the soundbar is NFC which also works just fine. Just used A Galaxy S6 Edge Plus with NFC with stupid easy pairing. On the back of the soundbar is showcase all of the ports. The there is HDMI 4K passthough technology mainly for the use of ARC on the TV. For those who are wondering there is no input lag from the passthough for gaming; Have a PS4 connected to the soundbar. Optical digital, Ethernet port and AUX can be found here as well. WiFi can be used to upgrade the soundbar and be used for Bose own Soundtouch app for iOS and Android that puts most of the important music streaming apps together. Amazon Music, Sirius, Spotify, Pandora, and I Heart Radio are all integrated within the app. You can also add music library with NAS and from a PC. I've tried this and it worked seamless. Apple music integration would have also been appreciated but it's not here and don't think it will come. Airplay is also missing but according to Bose they don't include Airplay because it doesn't support more then one speaker so I can understand on the level of competing with other brands that does the same. I love the soundbar to death and I would happily buy a friend or family member this soundbar as a gift. I love them so much I am also buying another one of these for a bedroom myself. It is an amazing product. No, I mean REAALLY spectacular speakers and I don't say that lightly! It's downright jaw dropping sound, amazing construction, and ease of use makes it worth the price. 5 / 5 stars.

Having occupied space on this planet for over 73 years and enjoying listening to music for most of that time, I consider myself an avid audiophile. While a young teenager during the 50's I built Hi-Fidelity systems for family and friends to play their 78's, 45's, and 33 1/3 on custom record players. I was fascinated with quality sound reproduction. During the 60's the advent of taped music allowed me to build hi-fidelity systems using tape players, cassette, and eventually eight-track. Greatest thing about these tape players is they could be portable, and eventually found their way into automobiles, but sound distortion was terrible.. Channel separation also became popular as Stereo Hi-Fi. I could not believe my ears. Then, came the digital age in the 70's, 80's, and 90's with compact discs, CD's, DVD's, and music-data formatted files for computers, MP3's etc.. I was in musical heaven building small Stereo Hi-Fi systems for this new engineering. But the hardware to amplify the digital age was way 'behind-the-curve' - lots of big speakers, too much bass distortion, and overall poor quality. Until Bose revolutionized sound with the compact, all-in-one system - the acoustic wave® music system first introduced during the the mid-80's. It was then, I became a big fan of BOSE and their smaller speakers sound reproduction technology. BTW – I still have my1998 acoustic wave radio/CD player and it is amazing. It brought CD's to life as it filled my room with sounds previously only reproduced with much larger and more expensive systems. WooHoo! I consider myself an 'audiophile'. So, I jumped at the opportunity to receive a complimentary Bose SoundTouch 300 Soundbar in exchange for an unbiased and comprehensive review. Bose Corporation has been around for over 50 years in reproducing quality sound and they have proven themselves to be the unequaled leader in that field. The Bose SoundTouch 300 Soundbar comes with: Universal remote 2 AAA batteries ADAPTiQ headset Power cord HDMI cable Glass Cleaning Cloth Optical cable The universal remote is surprisingly impressive. Besides programming your TV and Soundbar to come on, It allows you to preset six, Wi-Fi, Internet, music services, radios, or selections and play them at anytime through your Wi-Fi network by touching the SoundTouch button on your remote. You can also use the free Bose Controller App, which can be downloaded from Apple App Store or Google Play, for your tablet, phone, computer, or I-Pad. This remote allows you to switch sources from different inputs after you program them in, i.e., TV, Blueray Player, CD/DVD Player, streaming movie player, etc. You can even program your TV, CD, DVD, Satellite, Cable, and all other devices to include Apple TV, X Box, Roku, etc. using this universal remote. The remote is also used to set up Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It even enables you to give a thumbs up or down using a music service, like Pandora. Let's get right to the sound reproduction. From your TV to the Bose 300 Soundbar the amount of Bose technology to render absolute and flawless sound is spectacular. The trebles are subtle but pronounced, and the adjustable bass is impressive from such a compact unit. What really impressed me was that I could not detect any distortion in the bass even at higher levels of volume due to Bose’s new Quiet Port engineering. The other most noticeable aspect of this soundbar is that it directs sound to areas of my room as if there were other speakers there through Bose' Phase Guide Technology. It felt to my ears like the sound was coming in from my left and from my right. This is absolutely amazing sound reproduction from a front facing soundbar. At this price point the Bose SpoundTouch 300 may appear to be expensive, but it is at the top for quality, if not the best soundbar you can buy for home entertainment out of the box. The Bose 300 Soundbar is a home entertainment system and a Wi-Fi music system. Bluetooth with NFC technology enhance the overall versatility of this unit to play your personal music choices. If you purchase this outstanding soundbar then the Acoustimass 300 wireless bass module is an option for even greater sound quality and reverberance. You can make this system truly 5.1 by adding the two optional rear speakers. The physical appearance of this soundbar is stunning. It has a black glass top with a black matted metal grill surrounding the enclosed, dynamite speakers. The only disadvantage is that the glass top shows fingerprints readily. But, I am sure the engineers placed this glass top there for acoustical reasons, primarily. The soundbar is designed to look classy in front of your TV, in your living room, media, bedroom, or anywhere in your home. The Bose SoundTouch 300 Soundbar supports 4K Ultra HD and HDR through HDMI, which should 'future proofs' this unit for several more years. The ADAPTiQ calibration accurately sets the audio to your unique room acoustics and requirements. Now, for the 'nitty-gritty', considerations for you to be aware of before you purchase this awesome sounding unit: After a whole week of enjoying and experimenting with this SoundTouch 300 Soundbar it is obvious that Bose primarily designed this unit to be directly connected to your TV using the latest HDMI, ARC connection. However, the ARC, HDMI connection is only available on the TVs produced since late 2013. If you have an ARC, HDMI you will only be able to connect one more outside source to this soundbar unless your TV has additional HDMI outside source connections. If your TV is older then you can only connect the soundbar with an legacy, optical connection. However, using the optical connection instead of the HDMI, ARC, oddly enough, allows you two more HDMI sources, i.e., you can connect a Blueray Player, X-Box, etc. to the soundbar directly. The Bose 300 SoundTouch Soundbar is approximately 38.5 inches wide. If you have TV screen size less then 45”diagonally (39.2” in width) your soundbar will be wider then your TV, which may not be aesthetically in proportion. This soundbar is made for much bigger and newer TVs. The SoundTouch Controller App is outdated and in reality needs to be 're-built'. I had nothing but trouble trying to connect to my Wi-Fi network using this app with my I-phone, so I tried my Android phone, also.to no avail I first had to reset the soundbar back to its factory default settings, which is highly advisable if you have any kind of issues trying to connect the soundbar to Wi-Fi. The Bose Controller App was of no use. It is supposed to outline instructions and steps for you to connect to your home network. It did not show up on any of my phone scans under Wi-Fi settings. Had to go to my home network settings displayed on my desktop PC to find the name of the soundbar on the network and its IP to finally join it. Only after 8 or 9 attempts was finally able to join my home Wi-Fi network. Once on my Wi-Fi network the app finally came to life and provided me much of what it is supposed to do. In the Owners Guide it states that you can control the bass via the settings menu in the SoundTouch App – that is not true – you can control the volume, and turn the soundbar off, but not the bass. However, the bass can be controlled using the remote. Once again, the Bose Controller App needs to be reworked specifically, for the SoundTouch 300 Soundbar. The Wi-Fi card in the Bose 300 Soundbar is also outdated. It is not compatible with the newer routers featuring 802.11 ac, MU-MIMO. I had to reconfigure my router to finally get the soundbar connected. Strange that Bose utilizes state-of-the-art sound technology with outdated tech in its Wi-Fi? 802.11ac is the best way to allow streaming movies, without constant buffering over the same router while several other users are doing the same. Their IT folks need to 'get-with-it'. So, keep this in mind if you have an 802.11ac router or plan to replace yours anytime soon. At least this soundbar does work on dual-band routers, 802.11 a/b/g/n as long as they will be around. At the Bose 'Support Center' you can download the Owners Guide for the SoundTouch 300 Soundbar. It is very comprehensive, detailed and includes many illustrations. If you have issues you may find the solutions there, or, in the Owners' Community Blog. The soundbar is only compatible with DTS and Dolby Digital sound, but not with the sounds HD Dolby True HD and DTS Master Audio. The SoundTouch 300 Soundbar does not support googlecast or airplay, however you can connect devices like chromecast or Apple TV to make that work. A couple of days ago I connected this Bose SoundTouch 300 Soundbar to my 500 watt amplifier. WoW! If you have an amp that has the appropriate connections you will be absolutely floored at how you can make this outstanding Bose system sound richer and even more vibrant. As an audiophile this is what I love to do. YooHoo! Even though this system has some technological 'shortcomings', I still highly recommend it for the unbelievable, fantastic sound it produces. I'm giving 5 stars for sound excellence only. It is the best sound you can buy and enjoy at home with your family and loved ones.

Bose Soundtouch 300 sound bar is very sleek and well designed with tempered glass. At 10.8 x 97.8 x 5.7 cm, it is perfect size matched with the larger TV (55” above). Its finish is stunning, with a glass topping that combined with the rich black color, just make sure not to leave too many fingerprints. The packing was excellent with all necessary accessories needed for sound bar setup. I was able to configure Bluetooth and NFC less than 5 minutes with my Galaxy S7 Edge. I played some songs from Plex Music collection using Bluetooth. Wow.. I am amazed with sound quality and it is equally good with my high end floor standing speakers. In the backside of the sound bar, you will find number of connectivity ports. There is one HDMI ARC port available to connect your TV with ARC port to output sound via HDMI. Another option is to connect the soundbar via HDMI passthrough. The universal remote comes along with this sound bar feels extremely nice in hand with soft touch buttons. The instructions were given in manual if you would like to configure other devices using Bose Universal remote. If you have existing universal remote, you can easily configure this sound bar instead of using Bose Universal remote. This sound bar is very slim and looking beautiful beneath my TV. Bose has done excellent job bringing astonishing sound in a small sound bar. There are LED indicators on the front to show the different inputs. It comes with calibration headset included in the box and it is called ADAPTIQ. I would recommend to configure the sound bar using ADAPTIQ headset to get optimal sound quality based on room conditions. Bose Soundtouch 300 produces excellent quality sound and you can hear every detail of the music. If you’d prefer to add dedicated rear speakers to the setup, I would recommend Bose Virtually Invisible 300 wireless speakers sold separately. If you want more bass from the Soundtouch 300, then Bose has an additional subwoofer Acoustimass 300, which is also sold separately. WiFi can be used to upgrade the soundbar using Bose own Soundtouch app for iOS and Android. From the app, you can configure and play music streaming services like Amazon Music, Sirius, Spotify, Pandora, and I Heart Radio. There are options to add music library from NAS and PC. I was able to configure the music library from NAS and it works flawlessly. My only issue is manual has very limited instructions and it will be very hard for some users who has limited knowledge on setting up home theater systems. It could have been better to have detailed instructions for each type of setup. I highly recommend this Bose Soundbar 300 to anyone who wants rich sound with detail. It is slightly expensive, but you won’t be disappointed after hearing the sound from this beautiful sound bar.

This is my first sound bar and it’s just been a week. Oh boy! This is one of the best sound systems I’ve ever listened to. Also this is one of the beautiful speaker that’s around with the black tempered glass finish and very sleek. It occupies so little space that I did not do anything in my current set-up to make additional room with my TV, blu-ray player, DVR etc. It works so seamlessly with my TV and has changed my TV viewing experience. I have tried to list down the different aspects of this sound system and as a first time user of Bose, they’ve earned a lifetime supporter. I’m still amazed how they are able to produce such good sound considering the small size of the speakers. Unboxing and Set-up: I’m not an audiophile and also not very tech-savvy. I always prefer systems that are easy to set-up. The packaging consists of the speaker, universal remote, power cord, ADAPTiQ® headphones, hdmi cable, optical cable (which I did not need). The SoundTouch 300 was a breeze to set-up and took me less than 15 mins to set-up which includes the ADAPTiQ® calibration. This is almost plug and play system and does not require you to even read the manual except to understand ADAPTiQ® calibration. One good thing is that this system does not need a separate A/V Receiver and it just connects to your TV using a HDMI cable. My blu-ray player connects to my TV which connects to the speaker. For the ADAPTiQ® calibration, the system (voice over) guides you the set-up by asking you to sit in 5 different locations within the room where you would watch your TV/listen to music and plays beep sounds. It’s entirely auto calibrating while you are sitting at different locations. Once done, the system is ready to use. Sound Quality: These are one of the speakers which packs a punch considering its sleek design. This is a 5.1 home theater system packed within the soundbar. I was initially skeptical on how this sound system would perform against the true 5.1 speakers (5 separate speakers). My friend had the acoustimass 10 v5 speakers which had exceptional sound quality. This SoundTouch system nearly matches the acoustimass speakers occupying less space and none of the wiring involved. I have a Samsung 4K TV (JS8500) and love to watch movies via Netflix, Amazon and Blu-ray. While watching movies, this is so close to the theater sound and the voice clarity is exceptional. Before these speakers, I used to use the TV speakers which needs to be turned up to 60 to hear the voice clearly and even then it was muffled with the other sounds. This is completely on a new level with very good sound effects. It’s as if the sound is being thrown to the right and left of you to give an impression of a surround sound experience. Soundbars are usually considered best to amplify your TV sound and just about it. With SoundTouch 300, I would stream all my music through this speaker than my existing Bluetooth speakers. With its WiFi and Bluettoth connectivity, it is very easy to stream all my music esp from my iPhone. Remote and SoundTouch App: The only time I used the Bose remote was when I was setting up the ADAPTIQ. The one good thing about this system is that I can control the sound volume using my TV remote. The Bose SoundTouch App is very basic and the only time I use this to stream some of the Internet Radio channels which the App provides. The App also allows you to add presets on the channels which you frequently use. I believe it may be more useful if I had more Bose speakers systems to control. Also, one use of the App is updating software which Bose pushes from its side though. Overall, this seems to be one of the best soundbars in the market. I've not owned other brands but I don't think I will need to as this sound system surpassed my expectations.

I always thought that a Soundbar should do a world of good for the PC setup I had - which predominantly is for my photography work. I had progressed from various desktop speakers - From Mercury to Creative’s SoundBlast - 2.1 and 5.1 to Klipsch’s 2.1 ProMedia, and finally moved to a vibration speaker from Adin - a very useful and powerful speaker. The reason why I moved to a smallest possible speaker - that too a vibration - is because the speaker is dependent on a medium to produce sound. I could place it on a solid wood, or a glass surface, and each surface would produce distinct music - tones. It had been my companion for a good 3.5 yrs, and I was looking for something more, as its were outweighing the benefits, mainly because of the necessity of a medium. This affects the way I could hear the music - my thoughts were to go back to my Klipsch, and then I saw Bose had released a Soundbar. When I heard of Bose was coming up with a soundbar which includes a variety of connections/streaming - it got me interested. Though my makeshift speaker has both wired and Bluetooth connections, the output wasn’t all that enthusiastic. Everyone I spoke had been using the soundbar with their TVs, but I researched to see how people use a soundbar with their PCs, but couldn’t find much about it - as everyone has different configurations and soundcards. I found that my motherboard (Asus Z87 Pro V) supports both HDMI and SPDIF, and the latter my folks, is how Bose is streaming all my FLAC and Wavpacks! Yes, Bose 300 Soundtouch 300 soundbar supports - WiFi, Bluetooth, HDMI and SPDIF! I have been using the Soundbar for about 2.5 weeks, and the music is far better. It is actually music to my ears! The connections were straight forward - I used the SPDIF cable provided and connected my PC to the Soundbar. Enabled the optical output on my PC’s sound configuration, powered on the Soundbar and that’s it. All sound! I used the Adapatiq calibration tool and positioned myself across 5 places to make sure, I get consistent and constant tones across the room. I am not sure why the calibration is just limited to 5 points and not more. Wouldn’t a larger room need more points for calibration? Since the SB is intended for a large living room? Though, there is specification not to place the SB in a corner, I went against it and it still gives great output. About the music, I predominantly use my PC for photography and keep myself occupied with a library of songs that I had built over the ears. Occasionally, I watch a movie or animation with my two-year-old son. There seems to be a balanced output from the SB. Midranges are pretty good. I couldn’t get a chance to play high bass or trebled music. I am sure there would be shortfall on that, as the SB has to be coupled with Acoustimass 300 Subwoofer for a good bass effect, though there is an inbuilt option to switch bass using the remote. Back to topic: I was able to hear and feel the surround sound effect, even hearing tones and instruments that I had never heard in the songs I had heard before. That was something very revealing. Switching to the dialogue option on the remote enables to a good voice output while watching a movie. Finally, Bose, known for their range of music speakers and ear/head phones, has made sure that they are in the market for more - exploring the Soundbar, but the competition is pretty stiff with people settling for other brand’s low priced soundbar which does give similar output, but having used it for a while, I would say though priced well above the competition, it may be worth your money for the brand. I’ll be posting more reviews going forward on the Soundbar - try other options to connect to the soundbar - cellphone and WiFi streaming. At a first try, the procedure to connect to WiFi was cumbersome and couldn’t be achieved with their manuals, I could never connect with my phone to enable the WiFi on the soundbar. I had to rely on my PC to enable and activate the WiFi on the SB.

The Bose Soundtouch 300 is definitely an eye opening experience!! The product design is sleek and beautiful. Visually I don't notice it under the t.v. but it's obvious once the sound comes through! It came with everything I needed to be successful in setting it up, even extra cords! Which was helpful because my t.v. (Sony) has an HDMI port but I couldn't get the speaker to work with that cable. Thankfully it also came with an Optical Audio cable because that worked! It's interesting to set up because it also came with this headset that you put on and it has you stand in all areas of your room to set the acoustics of the room. After all was said and done we downloaded the Soundtouch Controller App. This makes it easy to Bluetooth your music from your phone. Create play lists and more. You can even have more than one bose speakers hooked up to the app and control or connect them to the same song (ex. Connect kitchen to Living Room) It came with a universal remote which is great because that means you can hook up the t.v., DVD player, speakers and more. It gives you codes for all devices to hook up to the remote. This is by far one of the best sounding soundbars (even without extra speakers) that I've ever heard!! Watching movies in my home now feels like we're at the theaters. When I hook my music up its sounds beautiful! There is definitely bass in this speaker. I never realized how much difference it makes even watching regular t.v. with it verses my t.v. speakers. The sound is just amazing!!

Awesome bar... Awesome sound... a sweet experience

Let me start with how awesome the quality of Bose have reach levels beyond any of my expectations. I have acquire this speaker around a week and a half ago and I am surprised on how awesome the experience with it can be. Let me break down the review in some positive and improvements (or observations) for simplicity: Positive aspects: 1. Design. I was expecting a sound bar (like any other) to be functionally appropriate and to have the design oriented to the goal. The design however of this sound bar is frankly breath taking. It looks awesome and I enjoy to have it at home even when is off. 2. Crisp sound. The quality of the sound of this device is simply fantastic. Is crisp and clear, have awesome treble and a moderate amount of bass (for the soundbar ALONE) 3. The remote... I LOVE THAT REMOTE. It is a nice quality item with an easy configuration and the ability to control my TV, my Apple TV, even my Play Station!!! WELL DONE BOSE 4. I can hear Pandora an any other internet based radio... is that awesome or what? is FANTASTIC!!! sometimes I turn off the tv and just hear the awesome music without the need of any earphones or else. 5. Adaptation to the environment. I have placed this sound bar in 5 different places (I'm an engineer, I have to experiment) and with the audio configuration procedure (specified in the manual... ), it ADAPTS to each space awesomely, calibrating each position you usually have to watch tv or listen to music. Areas of improvement: 1. The bar itself is an awesome device, but without the subwoofer it loses a big amount of the power this device can give. Please don't take me wrong, the soundbar itself sounds amazing but I have another soundbar at home (that come with the subwoofer), and I can tell the need for the subwoofer to achieve total satisfaction. I believe that is a fairly awesome product that wont disappoint you... If you want total satisfaction, I suggest you to go also for the subwoofer... and if you have more budget, the complementary speakers will make your experience a dream.

So I’ve been using the Bose SoundTouch 300 soundbar for a little over a two week timeframe. I must say that this is an excellent soundbar. Not only that, it gives you the potential for expanding as the budget allows. I love that it enables you to match the sound dynamics with your specific room, 4K HDMI input/output, and/or Optical. I was a little skeptical at first but the sound and bass is quite potent for a soundbar but then again, it is a Bose. I tried it in my bedroom and my living room and in both places it performed very well. It has ADAPTiQ audio room calibration from Bose which can be configured at 5 locations to ensure best performance regardless of your location within the room. Now I am not expert but while watching a movie I thought I heard a sound coming from my kitchen. Now I have not seen other soundbars do that unless you have other speakers hooked up to the system. In addition, it has wireless streaming capabilities and so far I have not had any issues with it. You have the option of playing music through Bluetooth as well as Wi-Fi if you use Pandora, Amazon Music, or SiriusXM. I’m sure you can stream other services but those were the ones that I used. The soundbar looks slick yet discreet. It is easy to set up and sounds great. After having it for just over a couple of weeks I decided that I do not need the wireless subwoofer but that is just my personal preference. I really like the option of using either Wi-Fi or Bluetooth to play music. I like that there is an ARC connection. Looks awesome too. While I have no need for the universal remote included, I’m sure it is great for some people. As far as price goes, the price is decent considering you are buying a Bose product.

    Bose Playbar+woofer vs Sonos

If you are looking to purchase this woofer, you likely either purchased the playbar or looking to get one. If you already own the playbar, and can afford the extra expense, stop reading and buy the woofer. You wont regret it. If you, like me are confused between the Sonos and the Bose systems, read on. I initially purchased a Sonos Playbar with its woofer and set it up at home. The setup was extremely easy using their app and sound that emanated from the Sonos system sounded a bit processed (for movies and talk), but AMAZING for songs. I loved the fact that you could place it flat, or mount it flush based on your preference. The app was extremely easy to use and worked with my other streaming services without any hassles. However my biggest gripe were 1) no option for bluetooth 2) only an optical cable connection. In comes the Bose playbar and woofer. The audio is much real sounding, and dialogue is much crisper. Setup is slightly more difficult, and the Bose app is "NOWHERE" within miles of the Sonos app. However, the benefit is that I can now stream youtube music, etc from my device via bluetooth onto the speakers and listen to practically anything. Other reviews talk about the pros and cons of Sonos and its issues with Dolby and sound processing, and true 5.1 if you add surround speakers. In order to preserve the possibility of making it a true surround system, I went with the Bose system instead of the Sonos. I do however feel that Bose's history of not having legacy compatibility with their old products might come to haunt me.

Lets start off at the beginning: This is a very expensive, high quality sound bar. You do get (mostly) what you pay for. Lets begin. This is basically the Ferrari of sound bars. You do also pay Ferrari price. Whats in the box: The soundbar (duh), every cable you need (which is a huge plus, many things you buy nowadays do not include the required cables) and a very nice universal remote control, and there is the headmounted microphone...more on that later. There is a basic quick start guide, but I HIGHLY recommend that you goto the Bose website to download the user manual, as you WILL be confused during setup, and the start up guide does not help very well. The build quality is excellent, with an all metal body and a tempered glass top. It looks sharp Setup: Not as easy as I would have hoped. I am a self proclaimed tech geek (my wife and mom both call me a tech genius, so there's that). The quick setup guide does not really guide you through the setup very well. It will get you up and powered on, but not connected to Wi-Fi, or any Bluetooth devices. If you want to wall mount this, you need to purchase a wall mounting kit that is sold separately. You definitely will need this kit, as this soundbar is not light. Bose expects you to use an HDMI cord, attached to your TV that supports ARC. If your TV does not, the soundbar does have a passthrough HDMI port, with 4K support, but only one, so you can only hook up one box. There is also an optical audio in for those of you that live in a cave. I suspect that if you are buying a 700 dollar sound bar, your TV supports ARC. Features: There is an app called Bose SoundTouch (yes, there is an app for that...which is your fancy soundbar), This app is where you can get your soundbar hooked into your wifi, and helps guide you through pairing a Bluetooth device. It also allows you to stream online music to your soundbar through Wi-Fi, from sources such as a generic "internet radio", and from places such as amazon music, iheartradio, deezer, Pandora, SiriusXM and more. Though you do have to have an account, they are not free or included with the soundbar. You can also stream from your Bluetooth device. This soundbar has very good virtual surround capabilities, and includes a microphone that you literally wear on your head so the soundbar can configure itself for your listening area. This process is done during initial setup, and takes about 10 minutes with you walking around the room to different places. I do wish that this supported Apple Airplay, or the Google version of that, but it does not. The only way to play music from your phone/tablet/whatever is to do it over Bluetooth. You can also do "locally stored" music from a network device, but that device has to support DLNA, so its not quite as simple as streaming from your phone. Sound quality: Good, but I don't think 700 dollars good. It truly does sound like you have surround speakers, but there is a bit of a "tinny" sound to it, especially through Bluetooth or wifi. The sound of movies is much better, with a much fuller sound. To get the full "Bose" experience, you will want to buy the optional wireless subwoofer (for another 700 dollars). This will help fill out the bass, and is a separate review on its own, but the soundbar itself does have decent bass from such a small package. There are also optional 300 surround speakers, but I do not have them so I do not know how well they work or help out. I have another soundbar,(albeit 1/7th of the price), and this soundbar blows it out of the water sound quality wise....but it should. So, the TL;DR version: Good build quality, setup is not as straight through as it should be, sound quality is good...but could be better. Doesn't support Airplay, but does support some wifi online services and Bluetooth. Buy the subwoofer.

I have had my new sound bar for about two weeks. This sound bar really exceeds my expectations I absolutely love it . This Bose 300 soundbar has great features one of my favorite features is the sound touch app. I can play music from my phone through the soundbar it's great . I am a huge fan of being able to be outside of my house or in another room and can still control the sound and music while not being right in front of the soundbar. The sound is so crisp no static at all . Another huge plus for me is this soundbar makes watching a movie feel like you are in a theater. The thin glass top and slim look gives it added style that you don't see in most soundbars. I didn't have to purchase anything to be able to use my soundbar right away it comes with all the cables , remote and even batteries for the remote . I'm super happy it comes with a headset that way if I want to have it turned up when others don't I won't be disturbing anyone it's a win win situation for us all. It's even really easy to to keep clean just lightly wipe it down and you are done. I honestly can say this is the best soundbar we've ever had and I wouldn't want a different one it's wonderful.

I have had the Bose SoundTouch 300 soundbar for a few days now and I have been blown away by it's performance. I'm using it along with the Bose Acoustimass 300 wireless bass module (subwoofer) and also purchased the Bose Virtually Invisible 300 wireless surround speakers. Setup was quite easy, connecting the Bose SoundTouch 300 with the TV using the TV's HDMI ARC connection. If your TV does not have an HDMI ARC connection you can also use the supplied optical cable to connect although the manual states that HDMI ARC is the preferred option. Connecting the optional wireless bass module and wireless surround speakers (not included with the soundbar), was easily accomplished using the remote control that is supplied with the soundbar. I'd definitely recommend purchasing the base module and surround speakers as you will not be disappointed with the result. One surprise was the quality of the remote control. It's really well designed and would have been almost perfect if it had back lighting. Once the system is connected you'll want to run the ADAPTiQ calibration which will optimize the system for the particular room you'll be using it in. The ADAPTiQ setup walks you through the process, speaking to you while you move around the room wearing the calibration microphone. If you're looking for an awesome soundbar then I would definitely recommend the Bose SoundTouch 300! It's also worth considering purchasing the optional Bose Acoustimass 300 wireless bass module (subwoofer) and the Bose Virtually Invisible 300 wireless surround speakers. The resulting sound is truly awesome with this system.

If you are looking for a good looking Soundbar as well as one that has a crisp sound, The Bose SoundTouch 300 is the way to go. Yes it's a bit pricy but your paying for quality and longevity. If you are in an apartment it's great for the living room especially since it doesn't give off an incredible amount of Bass, Don't get me wrong I think even without the sub it sounds tremendous. I think it's perfect for a living room apartment with the wifi and Bluetooth built in. If your in a House I would recomend getting the sub especially if you love playing loud music. Unless you want to spend a few thousand and go all out, For $700 This sound bar is well worth it. Especially if you have a 4K TV or a later model TV. Setting up Apple TV and Cable took me a little while but it works and syncs with a lot of TVs especially the later models.

Bose has always been making classic products. In buying a product to make my tv sound better , I have researched and listen to quite a lot. In the end the Bose soundbar stood out. It looks great, it sounds great and it's features are also awesome, for example my music sound so much better. The set up is easy, just follow the simple guide given, remember to connect to the internet to get rid of any flashing yellow light. I use the HDMI arc so all sounds from all sources sounds awesome. Please remember the sound bar is not a complete home theater system. The base is decent but not what you want from an action scene, so consider adding the subwoofer. That will most certainly make the base sound better, I listened to the instore setup at Best buy .The combination price however is a bit pricy so Bose can consider lowering the figures a little! especially since I have not yet purchase mine!! But overall the sound bar unit is classic by itself. So buy with confidence and enjoy better sounds from your tv....

Very clear sound. An excellent 3.0 surround sound. Although I must say, I did upgrade from a 10 yr old 5.1 surround sound. Few downsides. - it doesn’t have digital screen to see where you are on volume or Settings. App is ok but not much options. - Price was $699 & this is without the subwoofer. The subwoofer is an additional $699. So if you want the full 3.1 sound, you need to spend about $1500. If you can handle the price I definitely recommend it. The sound quality is breathtaking and surreal. This is a 5.1 surround sound but you can buy them separate. Start with the soundbar, then subwoofer & last you can buy the 2 rear speakers. They all connect wireless so no wires needed.

At Christmas, I was shopping for a Soundbar as a gift to my parents and made the *mistake* of listening to the Bose SoundTouch. I say *mistake* because I had a perfectly serviceable Sony that met my needs. When I listened to it, I definitely wanted to upgrade. I have a 50/50 use for a soundbar split between music and TV. The different team members at Best Buy all recommended Sonos. To make sure I wasn't overlooking I had them demo both products for me. In the end, the Bose system sounded better and met my needs more appropriately. The soundbar itself produces a rich amazing sound. The design of the soundbar is beautiful and what I expect from a $700 purchase. I can stream my extensive iTunes Library over WiFi or use the built in streaming options that come native to the Bose ecosystem or stream any other music source via bluetooth. I've had the SoundTouch now for about a month now and have been extremely pleased once I was able to get this setup. Setup "appears" to be a breeze if you look at the Bose Documentation that comes with it. I strongly suggest downloading and reviewing the documentation on the Bose Soundtouch Website found here before installing. https://www.soundtouch.com/Manuals I am fairly well versed in technology and found documentation that came with the products to be poor. The Manuals provided on Bose's website were much more detailed. I needed to reach out to Tech Support from Bose and was able to get a couple of issues resolved. A few additional notes. Some individuals have reported problems connecting via ARC, but there is an option to use Optical connection. I was able to get ARC to work with my TV after some trial and error. I had to do a factory reset using my Samsung Remote on the TV, remove all HDMI connections, reset the TV using the Samsung settings and restore all connections. Also, the source seemed to want to switch so my cable box is routed to the HDMI IN connection on SoundTouch and to the TV with ARC connection. All other connections from devices go to my TV's HDMI connections. After having gone through the setup I described above over the course of a few days, everything works perfectly now. I believe the factory reset which they call a Service reset was the key. This is done by entering a sequence of buttons from the Samsung remote. I found the instructions to do this here: http://ccm.net/faq/40592-reset-a-samsung-smart-tv-to-factory-settings If you add the Accoustimass 300 sub, you will get THUNDEROUS Bass. Note the word THUNDEROUS. Dialogue mode on the soundbar's remote REALLY enhances the spoken word and is great for watching TV shows in general. The remote works well with my TV, Blu Ray and Apple TV. I would love to give this a 5 star review because the sound is absolutely amazing, but feel the documentation is lacking, setup is far too tricky and not as straight forward and the ecosystem itself needs to evolve. Both Sonos and Bose systems are controlled with an App and Bose has some ground to make up compared to Sonos from what I can tell. That said, the sound from the Bose system and potential of what it can be won me over. Bose has already made an update to the app which improves features by adding a Recently Played list. Future additions of features to the App are critical in order to ensure this system competes with Sonos. All in all, no regrets, just do your homework and download the manuals from Bose before you install. It is an amazing system that produces incredible, clean sound even at high volumes.
