    I've used Bose ear buds for years. My last pair lasted well past the 2-year extended warranty I had paid for, & it was money well spent. The new model has deeper ear buds which definitely block out more sound. This may come in handy for my next trip when there are noisy people around me. But they almost seem too tight, with a feeling of air pressure changes one normally only gets when flying in a plane. And the sound doesn't seem as vibrant. Also, a major concern is the point where the cords diverge for the left & right ears. The old model used a Y-shaped connector; this worked pretty well on the last 2 pairs I bought. The new one is T-shaped; the new design looks far more likely to fray at those points than the old one did. I hope I'm wrong. I will say I would recommend it to a friend based on my long-time familiarity with the company & its reputation. But I'm still using my old ones until they completely fall apart.
