I had a pair of Apple Air Pod Pros. No good for music so I returned them. The Bose Sport Earbuds destroys the Apple.

These are Bose’s second try at wireless earbuds after the SoundSport Free. These are definitely an improvement but I do feel they skimped on some features especially given what the competition is offering. The unboxing experience was simple and enjoyable. You pull the tab to take the cover off. You open the box and are immediately greeted by the charging case with the earbuds inside. Also inside, you will find the USB Type-C cable, small and large ear tips (medium ear tips already on the earbuds themselves), and the always included guides and warranty. I personally love that Bose made the move to USB Type-C. I know Micro-USB is still the standard for rechargeable earbuds, but Type-C is objectively the best connector by far so having companies like Bose make the push towards it is great. Someday, it will be the universal connector. Design: The charging case is larger than you might think. It has the pill shape that seems popular with wireless buds. It opens with a button up front. There are also five indicator lights on the front showing how much charge you have. There is the USB Type-C port on the back. When you open the case, you will notice the bluetooth pairing button in the middle of the case. These are useful when you want to reset the earbuds and have them pair with a different device. The magnets work great. No problems with opening/closing the case, or keeping the earbuds in place. The case itself is very sturdy. The earbuds themselves have a minimalist design with the sleek Bose look. I am definitely a fan. They are very comfortable to wear. With the three included tips, you can definitely find one that fits you. Build quality is great. Just as you would expect from a high-end product. Function: Pairing was very easy. The connection was reliable. The next part is where I felt like Bose was skimping on some functions. The Bose Sport Earbuds do have touch controls. Really BASIC touch controls. Double tap on right to play/pause and answer calls. Double tap on left for a shortcut of your choosing that you set up on the Bose Music App. The touch controls themselves are not bad. Fairly reliable and consistent. However, I feel that Bose could have done more with touch controls given that other companies have really expanded them. JLab has 6 tap functions in earbuds that are half the price. In addition, only the right earbud has wear detect sensors. If you take off the right, music stops. If you take off the left, it keeps going. Another right-side only thing is the fact that only the right earbud has a mic. In effect, if you want to use an earbud individually, you can only use the right earbud. At IPX4, it protects from splashing water. This means it is good for sweaty runs and even rain. However, it cannot handle water jets or submersion so be careful. Battery life: Very middle of the pack. It comes in advertised at 5 hours. I was getting close to that. I could squeeze a bit more with lower volumes. The case holds 2 more charges for basically 10 more hours. What is impressive is the quick charge. 15 minutes of charging in the case will get you around 2 hours. Sound: Great Bose sound as always. Bose is not known for their bass but these earbuds like their predecessor the SoundSport Free have strong bass. Strong mids and highs that are not too exaggerated. Minimal distortion at high volumes. One thing that I did notice was the volume was much weaker than I expected. I tend to listen to music on the quieter side and I was still needing to crank it up. You can adjust settings with the Bose music app to customize to your liking. Pros: Comfortable fit USB Type-C Fast charging Splash-resistant Great Bose sound Decent app Cons: Very average battery life Features limited to right earbud Weak volume I do believe these are decent headphones. However, it is clear that Bose has skimped on some features in order to highlight their new QuietComfort earbuds. So many earbuds these days have more features with much lower prices. If you are willing to pay the Bose premium for good sound and not much else, then these might be the earbuds for you. Otherwise, there are alternatives with better value, especially for workout earbuds.

The ear buds stopped working on me one random day while trying to connect to my phone. The earbuds would asynchronously start to blink red and white when I take them out of the case. I tried updating the firmware and letting them run out battery to remove any static hindrance -- to no avail. Overall, the price of the earbuds by no means should allow for this type of build quality.

Horrible. Ironically they disconnected from my phone today and they won’t reconnect. Tried everything. Now Bose will replace them, but with a reconditioned product.
