    Excessive standby battery draw

Good sound and comfortable for short periods of use. But there is an issue with the battery. After fully charging them I put them in the “storage case”, which Bose made by design without a battery, after one day the battery level, without any use and the units turned off, fell to 50%. So now we must carry around the case and the charger for this to make sense. This is an unexceptional amount of draw in standby mode and should be corrected in a firmware upgrade or provide us a charging case for free. I always thought Bose had the best design team in the audio world. They really didn’t think this one thru.

Hi Timmy, I am so glad that you love the audio and comfort of your new headphones. The battery will drain if the earbuds are not used or on the charging base. This could happen upon first use or if the product has not been used or charged in a while. For best performance and longevity, charge your earbuds when not in use using the handy dock provided.

Pros. Open ear, large battery capacity, great sound. Cons. Heavy and large, hurt ear loop, not great with a mask, not compatible charger, no battery case. Okay for using it, but not super recommended.

They look and feel large. But they are light. They fit funny. But they stay in place and are comfortable. And the sound is incredible. Bose hit open air design out of the park. The sound stage is great. As others point out, bass is not bumping but it is more than adequate. I love them. My new go-to. These headphones allow you to walk, run and ride completely aware of your surroundings.

The sound is good. I like the fact that you can still hear people talking to you while still listening to music. If I had any issue is that it doesnt come with a portable charging case.

I LOVE these! The sound, obviously is great, they are comfortable, and connect easily. I have not worn them to run in and not so sure they would stay on because they are big and my ears are normal sized. Also, can not see wearing them outside in the cold when wearing a headband that covers the ears because they really are bulky and would probably hurt under a headband. But for indoor Peletoning, they are great!

Great sound while not in or covering your ear! Hard plastic housing can hurt ears after awhile. Ear hook can be bothersome if wearing sunglasses and a hat.

I feel a need to write a review because there were a bunch of misguided reviews out there when I was trying to decide which headphones to purchase. I bought these along with the quiet comfort earbuds because I some of the reviews made me hesitant about the open earbuds. I was looking for a set of headphones I could use for cycling that sounded great and still allowed me to be aware of my surroundings. They fit the bill perfectly. The over the ear design fits very comfortable and can be adjusted by rotating them back and forth for long sessions. The tactile buttons allow for control of music while running, cycling, etc even while wearing gloves for those morning activities. Sound quality is amazing with a rich sound and an open soundstage that adds to the experience of long rides and runs. The open ear design lets you hear your surroundings and stay safe. The good and the bad of this is that at high speeds and very loud surroundings you may have to adjust your volume. One big suggestion is to turn on the shortcut that lets you adjust the volume by tapping the right and left ear. What surprises me the most is that I have started using these over the quiet comfort for day to day use (heading to store, walking the dog) over the quiet comforts. Most of the online reviews try to measure these as if they were noise cancelling earbuds but they aren't meant for that purpose. If you are looking for a great set of athletic headphones These are absolutly worth a listen.

Sound quality is good but painful to wear for more than an hour. The whole ear piece is made of plastic which puts pressure everywhere it’s not supposed to.

Excellent Bose technology, easy setup and great sound. Fit could be improved with more narrow ear loops. Charging is fast and charge status notifications are very helpful. Quality components throughout and the fit outside the ear is a huge improvement over inside the ear sets. Safety while walking is enhanced through greater awareness of traffic without sacrificing any sound quality and the lack of connecting wires makes everything easy.

And here are the limitations : Wearing eyeglasses or sunglasses may make these somewhat uncomfortable. All depends on size of frames. Mine are pretty thin so good after adjusting. Sound quality once you’ve got them situated is phenomenal and of course doesn’t hurt your ears in the slightest. And that’s the best reason to get these and still be aware of what’s happening around you.

If you don't want to get blindsided by cars, people, animals, etc. purchase this product. I'm no engineer, or an ear connoisseur, but this device is practical, and it oddly sounds and performs better than what I expected (total head scratcher). IDK... you, a consumer, should try it before you buy it. Listen to me or don't, just try it, sheesh. Common comments people give: 1) "I didn't know you wear hearing aids..." (my thought or internal response is, okay so people think I'm wearing hearing aids... Sooooo I care why? I don't). 2) "I want one so I can still play football and hear when opponents are near me." (my response is, okay go get one). - These headphones are really practical, plain and simple. No need to try hard. - Quality is phenomenal; Turning the audio more than 50% of the way, while listening to music for example, will overpower what is happening around you. Think about it like this: if you're at a party/club/kickback/screemo concert and you're standing next to a speaker that is blasting sound, while (for some reason) you're trying to have a conversation, but you can't hear each other; because, instead of lowering the volume or have a conversation away from the speaker like a normal person you decided to be abnormal - then this is what this device does at 50% volume and beyond. How's that for quality.

Amazing Sound / Not Glasses Friendly

If I were only reviewing the sound quality of these earphones, I could not praise them any greater. While leaving the ear canal open, the tinny sound of most bone conduction headphones is non-existant. As with most Bose headphones, the sound produced can rival any competition. My ONLY issue with this product is the bulkiness of the over-ear apparatus. Anyone who wears glasses may have a similar issue. They are just not glasses friendly.
