Nice sleek speakers. Bought them with the stands that complement them very well. Wish they were a little cheaper but seems like they don’t go on sale that often. That said, I would buy again!

I'd honestly expect more from these. When they work they sound pretty good but the connection cuts out every now and then. My speakers are only about 15 feet from the soundbar / sub so it's kind of odd. I'd save your money.

Hi, thank you for your review. It is odd that the speakers are cutting out but I know that we can stop this from happening. If you have a router or another wireless device within 5ft of the soundbar or surround speakers, you can experience inteference which can result in the surround speakers cutting out.

If you still experience this despite no wireless devices being within 5ft of the soundbar or surround speakers, please reach out to our customer support team: https://bose.life/3nTDo5H

I debated for a month or two on whether to add these to my existing setup of the 700 Soundbar and 700 Bass Cube. The system sounded great without them and I wasn't sure they were necessary. After adding them to my TV set up in my living room (18' x 30' with vaulted 20' ceilings) I was blown away by the depth and overall encompassing sound they provided. I have turned them off on occasion just to see the difference and I can't believe I was ever satisfied with the system before I got the surround speakers. They sound great for both movie and music. I read previous reviews that mentioned the surround sounded better for music than it did for movies but I wouldn't say one is any better than or more pronounced than the other and they both sound fantastic. The plugs/wires are a little bulky for "wireless" speakers but I was able to creatively hide them with tables/plants/etc. I did purchase the Omni Jewel stands as well. They are solid well made stands that will not ever tip over by accident. They are pretty over priced though. The 3 piece combo of the 700 items are a fantastic home theater setup and provide movie theater sound, the bass from the cube is ridiculous if you crank it up, at a somewhat affordable (I understand this is a relative term as this is by no means an inexpensive set up) price for those who don't have the knowledge or desire to try to piece together and audiophile home theater system. I had no issues with set up and I find the Bose app very easy to navigate and operate the system with. I really like the one touch bluetooth connect button for playing music.

I have now 3 Bose sound bars, all with Subs and surround speakers. I tried and had others, gave away or returned (like 990B). I have (each setup), all are smart, as I use Alexa on all. Bose 500 sound bar with 500 sub and surround (let’s say 500, due to Bose does not give these a number) speakers Bose Smart 700 sound bar with 700 Sub and surround (let’s say 500, due to Bose does not give these a number) speakers Bose smart 900 sound bar with 700 sub and 700 rear speakers I like all the Bose rear speakers, the 700’s are just so small, I could not believe how small they are and sound as good as the much bigger surround (500) speakers, not that the surround (500) speakers are big in any way. Do the 700 surround sound better than the other, I have to say no, definitely the same but tiny. The 500 vs 700 bass module’s …. I like the 700’s better, the 700’s have more bass, not that the 500 bass is bad, it’s just the 700 bass sounds better as expected as it is bigger. The 500 vs 700 vs 900 sound bars……. I use the 500 for our bedroom and the 500 sounds great with the 500 sub and surround speakers for the bedroom. The 700 and 900 sound great and definitely better sound than the 500 ( but the 500 does sound great for a bedroom) (in my opinion). I think Bose did such a great job on the 700 that I don’t hear much difference between the 700 and 900 sound bars. I love the glass tops of both and with the 700 sub’s and either surround speaker types, the 700 or 900 is stunning in sound quality. I have played a bunch of movies with Atmos and both sound just about identical, that’s how good the 700 is even without Atmos. I highly recommend Bose to all, you do get what you pay for.

if you own the ultra/900 sound bar get the 300 surround speakers. Pros- connect wireless with bar, small table top speakers and can hide away easily. Made out of metal and looks premium. Cons - sound comes out of it is low, had to buy stand for proper mount, the wireless receiver are huge and make it awkward for hiding them. It’s costly for its performance. You have to place speakers behind you to truly experience a wrap around Dolby Digital sound. The bar in itself would make you feel like the sound is moving in front of you. These speakers when placed behind your seating area gives you true Dolby atmos wrap around sound. I wish cost were a little cheap. The volume coming out of it doesn’t justify its price. Bose paid more attention to looks rather than performance. I would rather buy the cheaper 300 surround speakers and get the same performance. Gave 3 star for looks and ease of use. Performance 1 star.

I don’t usually do reviews but I couldn’t find much advice about these online so just wanted to throw my opinion out there. The design of the speakers are cool and look great in the living room. I was surprised how small these surround speakers were, but the sound is amazing. I had to download the Bose app and turn up their volume, which I keep them at 90 to 100. I have them paired with the Bose 700 soundbar and 700 sub and the system is incredible. Listening to music and watching movies at home has never been more enjoyable. I went with these because they project sound from each side of the speaker for a better surround sound experience as opposed the cheaper virtually invisible speakers from Bose which are about 200 dollars less. These will make music sound incredible and added a lot to a system that was already really good. It’s a lot of money but I’m a happy customer and now a big fan of Bose.

First, they are rear speakers for surround sound, so they aren’t ment to blast music or to replace regular speakers. But they sound great, but again they are mostly for background audio, or for a song that has put in surround effects. I didn’t know this at the time but your Tv has to have specific audio options for the newer soundbars to work as intended. But thankfully my tv broke & the new one had the specs it needed. Ps: A tip when you set them up and you’re doing the ADAPTiQ thing, put a dish towel or a hand towel over them. It will trick the system into giving it more power (just remember to remove them when you’re done. LOL)

BOSE REAR SURROUND SPEAKERS, SOUNDBAR & WOOFER

We purchased the sounder to replace a 4 year old Bose Lifestyle 650 system that started having audio problems. We also added the sub woofer and rear channel speakers at the same time to duplicate what we had with the Lifestyle. The components are controlled with the Bose Music app. After all pieces were added to the app, you can control every individual speaker. Like a lot of bass, turn it up and make your floors rattle. Too much, adjust it down. Increase the volume of your rear surround speakers to catch all the action. This concept really makes a lot more sense than having everything included in one system. One conponent fails, just replace the it and the rest continue to work. A money saver. Extended warranty protection is one important thing to consider when making the purchase of these components. When we bought the Lifestyle back in 2019, we purchased a warranty from Bestbuy. After contacting Bestbuy with our problem, we were credited back our entire purchase price of the system. Will this happen in every case, I can't say. We were issued BB gift cards with which we purchase the replacement Bose system components. Oh, and we also purchased another 4 year warranty on each piece. It's fairly early days on our new purchases, but based on present performance, I would definitely recommend the purchase of these pieces if you really enjoy having great sound both on regular tv, but all the great content from streaming sources. One thing to add around the speakers: They pair great with the available speaker stands that Bose offers as an accessory. Especially if need them to be free standing and there is nowhere to place them such as on a bookshelf or other furniture behind your seating.

I have purchased the Bose 500 (two of them) and 900 sound bars, 500 & 700 subwoofers and 500 & 700 surrounds. The sound quality is superb. Exquisite even. Now the downsides. These don’t play well with TVs. I couldn’t get the TV remotes to turn the volume up on the Bose soundbar. With EARC you can have devices communicate things like volume and on/off signals to all devices. Bose is EARC “compatible” Not at all. I purchased 3 different brand high quality TVs just to get these sound bars to work. Really. I literally went through three brand new TVs so I could keep the Bose products. I connected directly to the TVs with a few different quality HDMI cables. I even had geek squad out and they were baffled. I use an Apple TV and I couldn’t get that remote to work with the Bose stuff either. I had to use the infrared on my Apple Remote to finally get the soundbar to work. Ya like 60 year old technology. So because the soundbar is under the TV and on a high TV entertainment unit I have to have direct line of sight between the remote and soundbar. This means my arm must go way up in the air to change the volume every time. It’s even more fun laying on the couch. The TV and Apple Remote are set up for Bluetooth. Beautiful. No more aiming at the tv. Till Bose. It sucks. Same thing for my Bose 500 in the bedroom on a smaller tv. HDMI won’t even work with the sound bar for sound. I have to use another old technology. Optical cable. It works but just barely. Oh yes and on both systems the updates are horrible. They get stuck all the time updating. Days stuck on the update. Meanwhile I can’t use any app features like dialogue mode. Then I have to play a game to get them unstuck. This usually results in having to reconnect the subwoofer and surrounds which is a huge pain. Oh and sometime it deletes the IQ feature which takes a bunch of time to set up too. I can spend an hour resetting things up because of updates. One last thing about their proprietary products. These can not be used with any other products. I went to use my 500 subwoofer in my office for my computer and it doesn’t use a normal input. So I put it back in the bedroom. It made me realize that someday when the soundbar dies I will be unable to make use of the sub and surround speakers. To have a soundbar go out and have the rest of the working speakers be unable to work is a waste of money. Buy Sonos instead. I’m going to switch to them on my next purchase. The sound quality of Bose isn’t worth the nightmare.

These speakers are tiny, but very effective and surprisingly loud accomplishing their purpose very nicely. I personally don’t mind the black standing out, but I don’t have white wall anyway so it doesn’t matter. Even in black they’re unobtrusive from a visual standpoint.

We added these to the rest of the Bose 700 series. We were surprised by how much these add to the system. The presence of these small speakers is amazing. It's definitely a good idea to run the enhancement software in the phone app. These speakers are also easy to position because they do not needing wires for the audio. Connection wires for the AC power is still necessary, however. We recommend buying the Bose mounts because the two are made to work together. We bought the table mounts and attached them to speaker stands, which is working well for us and cost a lot less than the Bose floor stands. We liked that the speakers came with a cute little screwdriver to connect the wires. The only con we have is the price. At about $2,000 to put together the soundbar, bass module and these surround speakers, it may be possible to be just as happy with a lower-cost option. Overall, we like them very much and would probably buy them again.
