I purchased Bose sound bar for my tv and I was very disappointed with sound quality. I tried optical, Hdmi and bluetooth connections but sound quality was average.

      Hello!

You'll be happy to know you can adjust the sound of the soundbar to suit your tastes. You can do this by using dialogue mode, to enhance the dialogue from your TV. You can enable this by pressing the dialogue button in the bottom right of the remote.

You can also adjust the bass/treble balance using the bass button. You can find a guide on how to do this here: https://bose.life/2YSDQF2

Good at stabilizing sound when commercials come on. Sound is good. The bass is severely lacking even with the bass boost activated, little disappointed considering that it had good quality bass. Also disappointed because I was expecting so much more quality from a name like Bose.

No better if not weaker than the TV speakers. There is absolutely NO bass control and too, it cannot be used in sync with the TV speakers because you get a reverb delay making the sound like in an echo chamber. I have a Bose tabletop radio, circa 2008, the produces wonderful bass in NO comparison to the weak Bose sound bar. Not only disappointing but money grab. You pay for a name and a nice box that produces nothing in respect to what the Bose name supposedly represents. Shop elsewhere.

      Hello,

Sorry you were not impressed with the audio prior to getting your subwoofer.

If you wanted more bass, you can also take a look at the bass settings on your connected device as well as toggling on and off Dialogue Mode to see if this provides you with any improvements.

      Kind regards,

Great sound from small speaker, but a bit basic

Pro: -Good audio for its size -Simple setup Con: -Limited features -Expensive -No hdmi cable included To sum it up, the Bose TV Speaker is exactly that, external speaker you hook up to your TV. It’s not a soundbar, so no passthrough or additional inputs. It sounds great for its size and is simple to set up. The audio is amazingly good considering how small the speaker is. The sound is full, dialogue is clear, and has a decent amount of bass. Not enough for booming sounds from movies or games, but good enough for TV and music. You can add an additional Bose subwoofer, for a high cost. At the right distance, it sounds like the audio is coming from the entire space in front of you rather than from a small box under your TV. It’s best for watching stereo content or listening to dialogue heavy audio. While it’s okay for movies or gaming, it doesn’t bring enough to be considered a home theater experience. There’s an option to enhance voice making it louder, but the background audio gets a bit compressed. Out of the box, it’s easy to set up and use. It’s best with HDMI/Arc so the TV can control the power and volume of the speaker. It’s a shame they don’t include an HDMI cable. Using optical, you lose the control but can set up so that the speaker turns on when it detects sound. The only indicator are two lights that flashes in different combinations depending on what is being adjusted. It’s pretty easy to read. Although the Bose speaker has superior audio quality than a typical soundbar of this size, at this price, you can buy a 5.1 or 7.1 soundbar with a wireless subwoofer. It depends if you would rather have better stereo sounds and don’t care about features you get from a full soundbar, or a soundbar with additional inputs and probably better bass, but with less fuller audio.

      Hi there,

We're sorry that you're not getting clearer voices from TV shows, and films with the Soundbar. Try turning on Dialogue mode to help with voices. Follow the instructions here https://bose.life/3Dj1rU1to enable it. You can also get support (https://bose.life/38DNELy) should you need it from us.

Very disappointing in Bose. Upon first impression had almost no bass and could hardly tell any sound improved from TV speakers. I decided to live with it and then the HDMI port just stopped working as a connection, brand new Samsung TV as well. I ate that loss too and just used the included optical cable. Less than two weeks later the sound bar just stopped turning on all together, tried different outlets and still no luck. I had to return this product very disappointing and let down by Bose after loving many of their products.

Hello, It's great to hear you have loved many of our products.
The bass level of the TV Speaker can be increased using the remote to ensure the best sound for you.
It is great that the optical cable solved the sound issue, the Soundbar comes with an HDMI and an Optical connection to ensure the best compatibility.
It is unusual for the Soundbar to not power on. I know you have returned your Soundbar now, however, if you do purchase again you can find guidance here https://bose.life/3sdrDsC if the system is not powering on as expected.
Thanks, Matt - Bose Customer Service bose

This is a very nice yet relatively small soundbar. If you are looking for a soundbar that doesn't run the entire length of your TV and still sounds great, then this might be for you. As is always the case with Bose, the sound is great. Mind you it is not going to be as loud and booming as a larger soundbar with a sub-woofer. But, it is as good as you will get while keeping things compact. The sound is clean & clear with nice vocals and just enough bass. The bass is there, but it's not thundering. This is to be expected without a dedicated sub (one can be added if you like). The standard connections are all here: HDMI, optical, 3.5mm and Bluetooth. As always, the best sound will be with HDMI or optical although I am finding the Bluetooth to work very well. From a controls & features standpoint things are pretty simple and I like that. Controlled with the remote, you have the usual volume settings and a button to select to select the vocal clarity. Also, if you have an ARC compatible TV you can control the sound bar with your TV remote. This is working nicely for me (I've had issues with this with previous soundbars). All in all, this is a great option if you just want better sound than what your TV has built in, yet you want to keep it simple and not have to have a giant sound system hooked up. Does it sound as good as a giant system, well, no. But this is probably the best sound you will get with a one piece soundbar and I am sure you will love it.

Very disappointed for a $230 Bose Unit. My TV speakers produce more sound than this does. No difference whether I send the audio thru HDMI arc or Bluetooth. Need to crank it all the way up to hear shows clearly.
