I would give this unit 5 stars, except for the lack of LEDs on the front panel to monitor the status of the soundbar (read below). The sound is excellent for what I'm using it for. I didn't want to run a bunch of wire and hang satellite speakers for my 5.1 rear L-R speakers, so I'm using this soundbar for my rear L-R channels. It sits under the TV and incredibly fills in the gap between the front L-R main speakers. The dispersion is excellent -- exactly what Bose is famous for. (NOTE: This unit is amplified, so do not shoot hot amplified audio from your amp's speaker outputs unless you can pad it down! My Onkyo surround tuner lets me set each output as low as -14dB, which is perfect for not over-driving the input of the Bose.) I use the analogue AUX input jack to feed in the speaker-out signal from the amp. The "dialogue" setting really does clarify speech in shows & movies where there is a lot of background EFX or music going on. Mids & highs are crystal clear -- no sibilance. Now, about those cheesy LED's... This unit only has 2 LED's on the front to let you know what mode you're in, etc. The LED's change color, blink in various ways, stay solid, etc., for each function. I had to download the complete manual and keep the page for the LED Mode Table handy to keep track of what I was setting up. For $279, Dr. Bose should have added a few more (inexpensive) LED's to the front panel. This was a real design flaw. Simplicity is fine if it doesn't make things complicated. Lastly, when in auto power-down mode, it takes about 2 hours to power off when there is no signal present -- kinda silly. 10 minutes makes more sense. I do not use this unit with any outboard sub-woofer, as my Boston Acoustic mains give all the thump we need. If you are using this (as intended) strictly for a TV speaker, you may want to add a small sub-woofer. You can easily connect one with a patch cord, via the 1/8" sub-out jack on the back. The price of this unit is way too much, but I paid it because it's Bose and it was the best sounding bar in this size range with an analogue input.

I love this speaker so much. It was easy to hook up and attach to my TV. The sound quality is amazing and I love this Bose speaker!!

The Bose speaker has great quality for the price point and I love the fact that it compact and can fit in small TV units. My only issue that it does not have a remote and always needs to be handled through phone. If you’re looking for something compact without a subwoofer, this is worth the money!

This soundbar is relatively small and honestly makes you think it won't be great but it is the opposite. The sound quality is awesome and you are not spending a fortune! It also has a speech setting so you can hear conversations better. Overall great product.

This is a replacement for another Bose soundbar that only lasted 2 years. Fingers crossed this one is better. Set up was easy and sound is great.

Outstanding clarity and sound. I have this in midsize bedroom and the options to have voice clarity are a game changer.

I have a hard time hearing the TV. Didn't want anything fancy or exensive, just wanted to hear the TV clearly. Bought this because of reputation and it is living upto reputation. Nothing fancy but excellent quality and tone. Rasy to install with a universail sound bar mount to my 55 inch wall mounted TV. It's worth the few extra bucks

Having owned several Bose products we had high hopes for this reasonably priced product. Extremely impressed with this small bar and it’s big base sound. No separate woofer needed; this sound bar augments our LGGX in a very open living area with ease. This was our fourth attempt to find a sound device that did not sound like an auditorium speaker and render high quality sound without big bucks.

Well it's Bose, so you know it's gonna sound great. Sleek look and fair features for the $220-300 price point. The mini remote needed to turn it on is cute and easy to identify.

This has been a great product for the situation in which I used it in the bedroom. It gets great sound. It’s very easy to install and really adds to the sound of movies, and TV show.

Bose is a great company and was not let down with this tv speaker comes with a controller as well super straight forward aswell set up was quick and straightforward

This sound bar was a nice purchase for the price. It’s basic in features and easy to use. Sound quality is good. My only complaint is that the Bluetooth connection seems crackly if your device is too far from the bar, differently than other Bluetooth devices I have.

This sound bar is much much better when hooked up via an HDMI ARC (with ARC being the important part). Otherwise you play a never ending game of which device to control the volume, especially if you switch between different inputs (like Apple TV, Blu-Ray, and internal TV). Sound is good - my main purpose was to get get sound facing me instead of bouncing off the wall from the tv (whole reason to get a sound bar). Cannot comment on if the Bose sounds better or worse than other sound bars but it is well made and sounds just fine.
