I recently purchased the Bose Open Ear earbuds for a friend's birthday after he had been raving about them. He often works in environments that can be quite noisy, and he needed something that would allow him to enjoy his music while still being aware of his surroundings. These earbuds turned out to be the perfect solution!
From the moment he started using them, he loved the open-ear design. The sound quality is fantastic, providing rich audio while maintaining ambient awareness. This feature is essential for him, as it enables him to stay connected to his environment without sacrificing the enjoyment of his favorite tunes.
The comfort level is another standout aspect. These earbuds fit securely and are lightweight, making them ideal for long hours of use. My friend mentioned that he can wear them all day without any discomfort, which is a significant plus.
Battery life is impressive as well, allowing him to listen to music for extended periods without frequent charging. Additionally, the Bluetooth connectivity is stable, ensuring he can easily pair them with his devices.
Overall, the Bose Open Ear earbuds have been a fantastic addition to my friend's tech collection. They perfectly blend sound quality with safety and comfort, making them an ideal choice for anyone who needs to stay aware of their surroundings while enjoying great audio. I'm thrilled with this gift choice, and my friend couldn't be happier! Highly recommended!

These earphones are great for those needing to be aware of surroundings like parents or daily joggers. The sound quality is good and they stay on well however the heafty price tag is a hard justification. Another issue is, rarely, do these earphones like a short disconnect like a second or two. For me it isnt a big issue however I can see someone gettinh frustrated. They serve its purpose and are the only earphones of this category that ive so far enjoyed.

These were an early Christmas gift to daughter. They are very nice looking on. Like ear jewelry. They're a grayish white color. She had me listen and the sound was exceptional. I contribute that to the open-ear design. Wish they made them with hearing device capabilities like my Apple pro2. Also, the fit is more secure. They don't interfere with her multiple ear piercings.
Perfect fit for all ears, work exactly as intended

Fantastic earbuds, they work exactly as they are should. I wear these for work which involves exiting a cargo van 180+ times a day and running from dogs and have never had the earbuds fall-off. I regularly go 8 hours without ever adjusting the earbuds or even noticing they're there. I was cautious when I purchased them because many reviews claimed they were quiet and provided poor audio quality. Those people are wearing the earbuds incorrectly, ignore them, the earbuds sound great. They will never be as immersive as a pair of in-ear buds but that's not what these are. These are so you can listen to quality sound while staying aware of your surroundings. Theyre only flaw is that they disconnect occasionally but I'm really hoping a software update will fix that

Overall, these headphones are great quality product. I bought them for comfort and versatility.
Headphones that go in your ear aren't comfortable to me, and I have a bigger pair of high end noise canceling headphones, but they are heavier and can get uncomfortable depending on the setting.
These headphones are extremely comfortable and fit perfect. I barely feel them on my ear. They fit part of the versatility part of the equation. The battery charge is great, and switching devices with the button shortcuts also great. However, without noise cancelation, I can't use them in airports or airplanes, which is probably the best use case for them.
Perhaps, if I sat in a cubicle or office setting they would be perfect, but without that, the best use versatile use case for me is my home theatre when I'm watching alone at night, or exercising in a quiet setting.
Still a great quality product. For the $300 price tag, I want to be able to hear it in a loud setting while traveling. This maybe a misalignment of my expectation and what the market value is, but I'd rather pay more to have some sort of noise cancelation feature and be able to use them everywhere.
If I had to choose just one, I'd stick with the higher end noise canceling headphones, as in the ear headphones don't work for me.
If have the budget and enough of a use case to justify a second pair, and in the ear headphones are too uncomfortable, these are the perfect solution.

The way they hold on to the ear is not too tight. It does not give ear fatigue. The sound is full and rich. I can have both headphones in and still be able to hear my surrounding environment, especially my kids. I love that I can have them in and get a nice full sound and still be aware of my surroundings! Also, the battery life is great.

There are many options out there for headphones. Those options are usually of some similar design that often has limited users feeling closed off from their surroundings. These new innovative Bose ultra open earbuds are very unique in that they don't insert into your ears, yet they clip on them. This design is supposed to allow you the ability to hear what's going around you while being discreet in the sense that no one else can hear your sound.
Well they deliver on that promise! It took a few minutes to set-up and after having them in my hand for 5 days and putting them through their paces, I can say they are amazing. First once on ears and adjusted they fade away and i forget they are even there. They are very lightweight yet stay in place. I tested them while working out and handled a few intense workout sessions at the gym.
I used them while on the bike and when running. While running they did shift a little bit under heavy sweating but other than that they were fine. The sound quality is the quality Bose sound you have come to expect from Bose. They produce crystal clear sounds from music and the phone calls i had. They actually worked really well in phone conversations and was discreet where no one else heard the conversation.
Overall I am very pleased and would recommend these to anyone who is looking for discreet and lightweight earbuds.

Overall these headphones are fantastic. I purchased them because i work in an automotive shop. I wanted to be able to hear my mysic at work, but easily be able to have conversations with co-workers if necceesary. The headphones are fantastic at that. I can listen to my tunes all day, the battery life is great. I use them for about 8 hours a day total and they are comfortable all day. I charge them in the case over lunch and never run out of battery during the day. So far it seems i only have to charge the case only once a week! The audio quality is surpisingly good for the size and style of headphone. Overall i would definitely reccomend these headphones if you also want to be able to hear your surroundings! 4.7/ 5. I would say really my only complaint with them is they can be a bit tricky to get in the perfect position!

Purchase these today while I started my new job in a warehouse and these are wonderful. I can still hear everybody around me even on the machinery and they are pretty cool looking. They look like earrings but I tell everybody they are hearing aids lol and the microphone is really good and loud environments Battery life great the comfort is excellent. I rarely noticed they’re on my ear. Kind of scary a little bit because of the price I don’t wanna lose them but overall they are great. I also have the quiet, comfort tools and these are the best pair comparisons to work together in whatever situation I need them in.

Man, I have a lot to say about these headphones after having and using them for a few months. I have a medical issue called Trigeminal Neuralgia and it makes most headphones, over and in ear, impossible to wear. These do not touch my face at all so they are perfect and I can wear them without it causing the nerves in my face to go absolutely haywire. If you struggle to find comfortable headphones because of something like Trigeminal Neuralgia or TMJ I can't stress how absolutely perfect these are to not irritate those conditions any more in my personal opinion. The sound quality is good and I love that they connect to two devices at once so I don't have to switch connection back and forth between my phone and PC. They don't play sound from both simultaneously but whichever the last one you initiate sound on will play and pause the other so that's very convenient. They do not noise cancel but they do make it easier to wear and hear things around me which has been awesome at work and I don't mind that at all. My big gripe is that on phone calls the person on the phone can almost never hear me talking. I've tried to adjust almost everything I can think of but I end up having to disconnect them to talk on the phone just so the other person can hear me which is incredibly frustrating. So if that's what you'll be using them for don't get these. Get a different brand of clip on or something. These are very expensive. In some ways worth it but I've just not been blown away by the price point. You can get other clip on headphones that may be better than these for $100 less. I'd expect for the price that I wouldn't have to disconnect them just to talk on the phone. So hopefully Bose can correct that issue in the future with w design update or something.

Theses are very comfortable, sometimes forget I’m wearing them. Sound quality is solid enough for open ear. Durability is bad, especially for the charger. Was great for a few months and then kept getting bad connection and headphones not charging. Then sounds quality started to fade or interruptions happened more often. These were largely used for workouts and during work. While working they were great, guessing the sweat is what made them breakdown, which is unfortunate because should be awesome for that

Thank you for sharing your experience with the Bose Ultra Open earbuds. We’re glad to hear that you found them incredibly comfortable and appreciated the solid sound quality, especially during workouts and work sessions. While these earbuds are designed for active use, exposure to sweat and moisture can sometimes affect long-term reliability, especially around sensitive components like the charging contacts.
To help maintain optimal performance of your Bose earbuds, it's important to follow a few care and maintenance steps. First, gently clean the charging contacts with a dry cloth to remove any residue that may interfere with proper charging. Next, check for firmware updates using the Bose app, as updates often include performance improvements and bug fixes. Lastly, after workouts or exposure to moisture, be sure to store the earbuds in a dry, cool place to prevent any long-term damage caused by sweat or humidity. Hope it helps!

Sound quality is great—just what you’d expect from Bose. They pair easily with both my computer and phone. Super comfortable too; I can wear them all day and barely notice them. Battery lasts a long time. The only minor issue is that some people say it’s a bit hard to hear me clearly during calls.

These are by far the most comfortable and best sounding earbuds I’ve ever owned. They don’t move, fall out or irritate my ears. They stay in place and sound Great!!!

I was very impressed with the sound quality and fit of this particular open ear style. However, I did return my bose due to a static sound that continously popped on and off with and without any audio playing. I also experienced connectivity delays. Very sad that I had to returned these, I really wanted to keep them but could not ignore the static sound.

Great sound and for the folks who bike/exercise outdoors and would benefit from a open ear design that allows you to hear your surroundings.
These are most comfortable ear buds I have encountered, I forget at times that are in my ears.
Good battery life and I prefer physical buttons. Plus these actually stay in your ears doing intense exercise.
The only issue is phone call quality indoors were the party on the call has a hard time hearing you. Strangely enough, I did not have this issue outdoors on a call?

Purchased Bose Ultra open earbuds back in Oct 2025.I found them to be easy to setup in Bose app on my Ihone 13 pro max. I found the fit to be secure to my ear.The sound from them was excellent for a open ear design. The controls on the earbuds were very easy to use to change settings and adjust volume and tracks.Have owned numerous Bose products over the years and they never disappoint Sound quality is . top notch. You hear the music and outside surroundings.

Awesome sound for Open Earbuds. Good bass, mids and highs! The Bass definitely rumbles although not as in the Bose QC Ultra Earbuds but you can't compare Open vs. In-Ear. But I was impressed with the crisp sound (Bose audio signature). They also sound very loud. Just be sure you are wearing them the right way to get the best audio. Super comfortable for all day without any discomfort. The battery lasts ALL day!! Call quality is good also. Only downside is that the price is too high, $300 vs the QC Ultra that are now for $249.

These headphones are amazingly comfortable and the battery lasts the entire work day, but that is where the compliments end. These headphones are HORRIBLE. When both headphones are in, the music is constantly un-synced. When you answer a phone call with them in, it cuts out the first 5 seconds of the call and the person on the other line won't be able to hear you. They will completely disconnect in the middle of a phone call. About once a day I have to reset them because they just stop connecting to my phone. Best Buy has amazing customer service and has replaced these headphones twice, but the problem has persisted in each pair I have received. I want to love these headphones because they're SO comfortable, but for $300, the amount of problems that come with them is not worth it.
Thank you for sharing your experience, and we appreciate your loyalty to Bose, given the comfort and battery life you've enjoyed.
The connectivity problems you described, audio syncing, call interruptions, and frequent disconnections can be easily resolved by doing some troubleshooting steps. We recommend checking for the latest firmware updates via the Bose app, as these often resolve performance issues.
