Customers are saying

Customers are positive about the exceptional sound quality, comfortable fit, and lightweight design of these earbuds, which many users find ideal for smaller ears. While the battery life and open-ear style are also frequently praised, some users have expressed concerns regarding occasional connectivity issues and a maximum volume level that feels too low. Additionally, a small portion of customers feel that the product is priced higher than its overall value.

Inside the box is the ear buds themselves, charging case, charging cable, and warranty/safety informational guide. There is a quick start guide (QR code) on the inside of the opening of the box and thankfully I noticed before the box was thrown in the recycle bin. First Impression - These wireless buds sport a unconventional shape, but an undeniably extraordinary sound. QR Code/Quick Start - The quick start guide is very helpful in giving a move vivid description of how to put the headphones on, updates the firmware, lets you customize the key bindings of the buttons and equalizer/sound controls. I definitely recommend downloading the app. Open Earbuds/Comfort - Right out of the box, the buds stunned and left an impression as I personally had never used wireless headphones with such a design, external and hanging from the edge of the ear. Though I was certainly skeptical, the design has a comfort I’d never expected. They also don’t move much, despite being held on by not but their own countered weight. Strange design aside, they were quite easy to get used to as they weigh nothing and feel like even less. If not for the music, you could easily forget the buds are there. Sound/Calls - The sound most certainly sets the bar for wireless headphones. There’s an immense amount of base, and despite the design they do block out quite a bit of external sound. So much in fact, half volume seems to be plenty, even perhaps too loud, which is a first for a fan of loud music like myself. Also vice versa the way the buds rest allow for you to listen to the area around while the music is low for some ambience or perhaps motivation on a jog. Calls are extremely clear, and the microphone seems to capture sound well. Battery Life - The battery life was not included on the box, but they seem to last around 10-12 hours from a full charge, and charge twice in their case. It took two days of listening before the buds finally indicated a low battery, and the charge was relatively short, maybe 10 or so minutes for the buds in the case and 20 for the case. The case lets you know the charge status of each bud with individual indicators, as well as an indicator for the case itself. The only issue I could find with the headphones, was a sort of glitch that disabled my ability to change the volume on my phone once the headphones were connected. Restarting the music streaming app I was using seemed to fix it, while be it temporary as it is a reoccurring thing, so it may just be the streaming app itself and not the headphones. They are also magnetic, which goes for most earbuds, but the magnet on these is quite strong and gave me a startle when I discovered pair of earrings I was not aware were also magnetic. Overall, I am highly impressed with the design, the sound and the comfort of these headphone and I would highly recommend to friends and family.

Everything was bad. The only thing i liked about them was look. They were stiff, sounded ok as long as nothing was playing in the background. Call quality was the worse, it sounded like people were whispering. Bought them the day before my trip returned them as soon as i got to my destination. So yourself and wallet a favor and go with the OneDot Shokz. 10x betterand $100 less. Not to mention that the OneDot can be connected to 2 devices at the same time.

      Hello,

I am sorry to hear that you are not happy with the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds.

Their design is different from any other Bose earbuds, so we understand if you are not used to such product. They will not block out noises like any other earbuds would as they don't sit in your ears and don't have noise cancellation, however the Bose OpenAudio as well as the Immersive modes and how they will fit comfortably in your ears, are great technologies that offer low leakage, spatial audio so you can wear these buds all day to enjoy your music, and still be aware of what's happening around you.

    Unique Design - Mixed Impressions

The clip-on design takes some getting used to, and initial wear can be uncomfortable. I found the sweet spot after a few days, but larger ears might struggle. They stayed secure during movement, but the pressure on the ear cartilage could be bothersome for extended periods. The audio quality is excellent, even in noisy environments. Music and podcasts sound crisp and clear, with a surprising amount of bass for open earbuds. The "immersion" modes are a neat gimmick but don't significantly enhance the experience. However, call quality was a major letdown. My voice sounded muffled and distant to callers, making them a less ideal choice for frequent calls. The battery life is quite impressive, lasting for over 7 hours of continuous use. Charging is quick, and the case offers convenient top-ups. Feature-wise, they're fairly basic, with limited controls and the Bose Music App causing initial connectivity issues. Aesthetically speaking, the design is very distinct, setting them apart from traditional earbuds. The open ear design is unconventional and received varied reactions, with some finding the design interesting while others described them as odd. Thinking back to a popular "pod" style earbud, its not uncommon for innovative designs to challenge expectations. Pros: * Excellent audio quality, even in noisy environments * Open-ear design for situational awareness and comfortable conversations * Secure fit during movement * Long battery life with quick charging Cons: * Uncomfortable initial fit, especially for larger ears * Poor call quality with muffled microphone audio * Limited features and initial connectivity issues with the Bose Music App Conclusion: The Bose Ultra Clip Ear Buds offer exceptional audio quality and a unique open-ear design, suitable for music and podcasts in noisy environments while maintaining awareness. However, the initial discomfort, questionable call quality, and limited features may deter some users. Those prioritizing multi-functionality and frequent calls may prefer other options. Still, for those seeking open-ear listening with top-notch audio, they're worth considering if you can adapt to the fit

Really Bose?... I bought these on sale for $230 and wanted to return them after 5 minutes of use. Music quality is okay and call quality is awful. DO NOT buy these unless you'll be in a perfectly quite environment the entire time of use. There are several options that are MUCH BETTER than Bose for half the cost. Go look at Shokz and JBL, you'll thank me. Will be returning for a refund.

I'm sorry to hear you decided to return your Ultra Open Earbuds, though you were happy with their music reproduction performance. If you're having trouble hearing or being heard on calls, firstly make sure that your earbuds are using the latest firmware; Bose released firmware version 4.0.22 to improve the customer's experience on calls. If that doesn't help, I'd also make sure you're wearing your earbuds optimally, see here: https://support.bose.com/s/article/ult-headphoneopn-wearing-and-adjusting-your-earbuds---ka08c000001brkkaai?language=en_US. Hi Joshua! We appreciate you sharing your feedback with us, it truly helps us continue improving our products. We’re sorry to hear that the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds didn’t meet your expectations. That’s not the experience we want you to have.

Ultra Open Earbuds feature an innovative open‑ear design that combines all‑day comfort with rich, private sound delivered through our OpenAudio technology. Because they are designed to keep your ears open to the world, they do not include noise‑cancelling features and will naturally feel different from traditional in‑ear or over‑ear headphones. This open design is what allows you to enjoy your music while staying aware of your surroundings.

Comfort can vary from person to person, and sometimes a small adjustment can make a noticeable difference. You can try sliding the earbuds slightly up or down the outer part of your ear to find a position that feels more natural and improves sound balance. This can also help avoid pressure points or interference with jewelry.

For step‑by‑step guidance on wearing and adjusting your earbuds, you can follow our full guide here: https://bose.life/47yqhOs

If you’ve already tried adjusting your earbuds and you’re still experiencing discomfort or sound issues, our support team is ready to help you further, including troubleshooting the audio concerns you mentioned: https://bose.life/contactus

We hope these tips help improve your experience so you can get back to enjoying your earbuds more comfortably.

These Bose Ultra Open Earbuds are my first experience with an open ended earbud. I’m not gonna lie, I was very confused at how to put these in it first, but thankfully the Bose Music app had a neat little video to show you how to use them. Pairing and setting them up was pretty easy and I had no connectivity issues each time I use them. Something I really like about the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds is the fact that you can still hear everything around you while enjoying your music. It’s almost like walking around with your own soundtrack to your life going on. The Bose music app can help you set up some customized features to make them sound good to your ears. The sound is surprisingly rich and full when you’re in a more controlled setting. If you are out and about in loud areas, you won’t hear the music as well obviously because they are open ended earbuds. The Bose Ultra Open Earbuds we’re surprisingly comfortable once I got a proper fit and honestly forgot they were there. I tested them out at work using my hair to cover them and I could still hear everything around me perfectly and safely. I can’t speak to how long they will last but I’ve used them for 3 to 4 hours straight and still had 70% battery left. This being my first pair of open ended earbuds. I was quite surprised at how great they sounded, and I’m really glad to have them in my repertoire of headphones and earbuds. I have honestly really been enjoying using the Bose Ultra Open earbuds.
