I like these headphones, even though they don't have anc. I like the fit, it fits nicely on my ear, light weight and can wear them for few hours. Mostly use them during workout, and they don't fall off at all. Sound quality is decent, given that they always on ear canal, sometime it requires adjustment. Call quality is not bad either. I use them often for calls, and I haven't heard much complaints from the other side when I speak or disturbance. So I say mic is good. But during call sometimes I have adjust them to be able to listen properly. Battery is good too easily last over 2-3 hours. Charging case is also decent. After extensive use, make sure to wipe off sweat from connectors before placing them in the charger. Overall happy with the purchase, use them during workouts and occasionally for calls. Wish they had wireless charging but considering that I still charge my wireless charging capable phone using wire, it's not a deal breaker for me.

Setup was easy and the sound quality is great even being an open-ear model. The best thing I like, besides the sound, is that they clip-on and stay put. I'm able to move seamlessly between two devices, my phone and tablet.

For open ear….that was really cool. Getting to use to placement on my ear involved a bit of a learning curve bit once you get pass that…..these are cool. Nice sound and nothing to interfere with normal hearing. But the music is so easy to listen to you might not want to hear other stuff!

These work really well. You can hear your music, and hear other people talking if need to. The music and phone calls come in clearly, and you sound clear. They work wonders when working out at the gym. You don't have to deal with all the sliding or falling out.

These earbuds are comfortable to wear for long periods. The open-ear design makes it easy to stay aware of surroundings while still enjoying music. Battery life is solid too.

Great-sounding open-air earbuds. So light you really would forget they're on your ears but for the wonderful sound, but be careful. While you can't shake them off during exercise, you can easily brush them off. After pausing my music while in a convenience store, one of the buds came off when put my hood back on in a slight rain. Panic! Fortunately, it got stuck between my hoodie and my shoulder. So, great earbuds, but be careful.

Not the Bose I Remember—Returned With Regret

The Bose Ultra Open Ear wireless earbuds just didn’t hit the mark for me—especially when it came to sound quality. I wanted immersive, enjoyable audio, but what I got felt flat and underwhelming for something carrying the Bose name. That said, my biggest issue isn’t exclusive to this model. It’s something I’ve noticed with multiple recent Bose Bluetooth headphones: the call performance has taken a serious hit across the board. The active noise cancellation (ANC), or maybe whatever processing is layered with it, seems to interfere with voice clarity. My voice is often transmitted lower than the background noise—leaving the person on the other end hearing more of my environment than me. With the Ultra Open Ear specifically, my wife and kids frequently told me I sounded like I was in a tunnel, or they’d hear their own voices echo back during calls. This happened whether I was moving in a car or even sitting stationary in my office. The clarity just wasn’t there, and it made hands-free calls frustrating instead of convenient. Bose still delivers on build quality and aesthetics, but they’ve drifted from the acoustic precision and reliability that made them a leader. It feels like the brand is leaning too much on its legacy—and less on making sure every new product is actually worthy of that legacy. I returned these, and I hope Bose takes feedback like this seriously.

Great sound & so comfortable on my ears since I have ears completely full of piercings so I tend to not wear over ear headphones! I also love the fact that I can still hear my surroundings when I wear them—makes me feel much safer! The battery life is great, I have 0 complaints with these:)

I love the sound quality and the light design of the earbuds but I am having some short connectivity loss often (like a cracking sound in both ears) when I run with them. I hope Bose can fix this issue soon. Firmware has been updated and I have no issues with other Bose earbuds in same condition.

If anyone rated these anything other than 5 stars I want to know what is better? Maybe it’s because my last set where Dr. Dre pro beats that I think these sound so great and that could be, but these sound great. Comfortable, many listening mode options and the best bass I’ve heard in earbuds. You just have to not forget your wearing them.

I've probably tried every ear bud known to man and returned them all. If you sweat a lot while working out, or if ear buds pop out when you chew or talk, then these are for you. They never ever fall out whether I'm running in the heat or laying on my back doing bench presses. My only wish is if they were a bit louder to make up for the volume loss if you like to wear yours higher on your lobe. Mine seem to fit best in a position that has the least amount of volume. I like to hear my surroundings but not that much. But it still isnt worth dropping a star on the rating. I love these things.

People constantly complain about not being able to hear me. Ear buds will connect and disconnect at random. Volume isn't great. They are very comfortable and can be worn all day. I would forget they were there. Button function is nice.

    • Brand response from Bose Support
      Posted .

Hi David, thanks for your feedback regarding the Ultra Open Earbuds. Great to hear you were impressed by the level of comfort offered, and the button function. For poor voice pickup, this is generally attributed to the way they are placed on the ears. There are tiny holes on the buds which work best when directed towards your mouth and if they're too high, it'll direct external sound into the mics. I recommend readjusting the placement and try another call to see if that helps.

These are great for what they are designed for which good sound and still hear your surroundings. I wish they were louder and almost returned them because in some setting may not be loud enough for you. At high volume people right next to you can hear them. Great for traveling with my wife and still hear what she is trying to tell me but not so great at a loud gym.

These are definitely the most comfortable earphones I have ever had, hands down. There were a few times when I honestly forgot I was wearing one of them. Once you get them on, they stay in place and don’t feel as if they are at risk of falling off. As for the cons: - really takes some practice to put them on, especially if your trying one-handed. I could never quite get the hang of it. - the sound is sub-par in my opinion. This is mostly due to the “open ear” design. Everyone’s ears are different so they quite naturally can’t fit optimally for everyone. Due to this I could never get the sound “projected” properly to my ear canal(s). Found I needed the volume at 75% or higher - preset equalizer settings need some work, but it’s possible the hardware and open ear design allow in too much ambient noise for it to really make a difference. - they would sporadically disconnect and then reconnect when playing audio for more than 25-30 minutes
