Customers are saying

Customers are positive about the exceptional sound quality, comfortable fit, and lightweight design of these earbuds, which many users find ideal for smaller ears. While the battery life and open-ear style are also frequently praised, some users have expressed concerns regarding occasional connectivity issues and a maximum volume level that feels too low. Additionally, a small portion of customers feel that the product is priced higher than its overall value.

Setup: Quickest setup that I recently experienced. I scanned the QR code and it took me right to the app I needed to start my earbud setup. I used my Apple ID to do my signup which made it even quicker since I didn’t have to add any information. The app walked me through the entire process. Wearing Earbuds: The comfort of the ultra earbuds are unheard of. They are light and really feel like I’m not wearing them. When I’m doing my tasks, I sometimes don’t even remember that I’m wearing the earbuds. Putting on the earbuds was not hard but it is different than what I’m used to. I think I understand why it’s designed the way it is and I like it. The fact that it just clips on my ears instead of shoving it in my ear is better for comfort. Appearance Of Earbuds: I’m getting use to the look of the Earbuds because I think it gives an earring look. Obviously it’s not shiny and I’m sure people will know it’s not an earring. Sound Quality Of Earbuds: I love the immersion sound mode is very good. When I have it on, by me just turning my head it sounds like the sound is moving. The immersion mode makes me feel like I’m in the middle of the studio. I can’t see why I would turn the immersion mode off because it’s that much better. Phone Usability: With the iOS the app and the earbuds are a great pair. I have no problem using it for calls or music. I think the controls are similar to another brand that I was using so I don’t have a learning curve for the functionality. Overall Experience: I now have my new go to earbuds. The Bose Ultra Open Earbuds are my new favorite and I will not be leaving home without them. It’s lightweight and sounds great for calls and music. I plan on using this for my bike rides because they are comfortable and seemed to stay on even with aggressive moving. My only dissatisfaction is that they do not charge on my wireless charger. I think it’s a missed opportunity but I will deal with it.

The sound on these is amazing, I forget I have them on sometimes and you get a near noise-cancelling experience. But I did have issues with them from the very beginning, one of the pieces wouldn’t charge right and then if it was charged, it would have issues connecting, and would just disconnect out of the blue. I ended up going in to do a warranty exchange which was quick and easy. Didn’t do 5 stars because of that experience, paying $300 for headphones that had issues right out of the box is disappointing. On the other hand I was able to exchange them under warranty, so I’m giving them the benefit of the doubt that maybe it was just the one lemon. But so far the second pair hasn’t given any issues. I definitely recommend them, just take advantage of that warranty if you run into any issues.

I recently got the Bose Ultra Open-Ear True Wireless Earbuds, and they’ve completely changed the way I listen to music on the go. Unlike traditional in-ear earbuds, these sit comfortably outside the ear, providing an open and natural listening experience without blocking ambient sounds. What I Like: Super Comfortable Fit – The open-ear design feels weightless, and I can wear them for hours without discomfort. Great Sound Quality – Despite not sealing inside the ear, the audio is crisp, clear, and surprisingly immersive. Aware of Surroundings – Perfect for outdoor runs, commuting, or work environments where I need to stay aware. Sleek & Stylish Design – The Lunar Blue color looks modern and premium, and the design is unique. Reliable Battery Life – Lasts several hours on a single charge, and the case provides extra power when needed. Final Thoughts: If you want high-quality sound with an ultra-comfortable open-ear design, the Bose Ultra Open-Ear Earbuds are a fantastic choice. They’re perfect for people who want to stay aware of their surroundings while still enjoying premium Bose audio. While they’re not ideal for bass-heavy music lovers or those needing noise isolation, they offer a unique and liberating listening experience.

So light you don’t remember they’re on if they aren’t playing music. I can sleep with them on for the most part even though that’s not what they’re for. I will say they aren’t loud… I mean they are loud enough to do the job but since they aren’t noise cancelling you are going to hear outside noise. The sound is good and the battery light is pretty great. If I’m listening and fall asleep at night, they stop working around the 7ish hour mark I would guess using one with the other in the case on a full charge.

Price - a bit high but expected with this brand Battery Life - great, do not charge very often and last me multiple walks Sound - good for what it is, sometimes hard to hear in loud environments. Comfort and Fit - GREAT! Sometimes I forget they are there. They stay in place. This is not for you if you do not want to hear anything around you. They are NOT noise cancelling.

These earbuds are ideal in theory but fail on some very basic features. The good- The sound from these buds is pretty full. They're not as good as what you would get from an over the ear or traditional earbud, but they do the job well enough. They're a bit heavy on mid-range but I wouldn't say it's an issue. They get louder than you might expect and maintain good fidelity. Even better, they don't plug your ears so you can maintain full awareness. It's easy to have conversation with them at lower volumes and with the immersion feature, it can feel like ambient music you'd hear in a bar or hotel lobby. The immersion feature also adds a bit of depth to whatever you're listening to. They're lightweight and comfortable to wear for long periods of time. They're also remarkably stable when moving, including running. Battery life is pretty good and they charge quickly. Generally they last me pretty much a whole work day and some. The OK- The volume adjustment is a little clunky. Requiring a tap then press and hold. I frequently use these while cycling so it's more convenient to use my phone to change volume. Also being able to tap the device rather than having to press the button would be better. The bad- The microphone is TERRIBLE. I can barely use them sitting still in a quiet room and have people hear me clearly. Any other conditions are a complete no-go. I've recorded myself using them on my phone and the quality and consistency is awful. Not good if you're on the phone or virtual meetings a lot. This is super disappointing at this price point. They don't support "Hey Siri." You can still use that feature if your device is within earshot, but for the price, this is disappointing. I've had many issues with the buds not properly syncing with each other which can only be resolved by turning off Bluetooth on my device and turning it back on. If your main thing is listening to music, these are fine but there are better options at this price.

So the fit is excellent, you will forget you have them on. Please remember these are open ear so they are made to bear everything, your music and everythibg around you. The volume is slightly low so you end up using them in the upper volumn range but stiff very private. They sound very good. I do wish however that they sold them for around $199 as they are a bit steep for what control you have versus all their other products and even though its bluetooth 5.3, you dont have multiple decice capability automatically as you notmally would, its a manual process. Should get an update to change that soon. Overall, i love them, but do feel they are overpriced. Was going to return and wait for price decrease but they just feel like they are not there and dont bother me like all the in ear buds do!

I absolutely love these earbuds. I mainly use them while walking my dogs, listening to music or podcasts, and taking calls throughout the day. They’re also great in my office when others are around because I can still hear what’s going on without blocking out the room. I bought them as an open-box deal on Black Friday on a bit of a gut feeling, and they’ve turned out to be one of the best purchases I’ve made at Best Buy in years. They’re incredibly comfortable and easy to wear for long periods. The open-ear design is perfect if you want to stay aware of your surroundings while still enjoying music or podcasts. The sound quality is excellent for open-ear earbuds, and call quality has been great for my daily use. If you want comfortable earbuds for walking, working, and taking calls without sealing off your ears, these are fantastic.

Finally, earbuds that won't fall during walking and running are comfortable to wear all day long and allow you to talk to friends at the gym without pulling your earbuds out. I also like that you can hear traffic when out and about. You can shake your head, bend over, jump, and down--these do not fall off! The fit is a barely there feel. Unlike earbuds that seal off your ear, these do not trap moisture or irritate your ear. The sound is fantastic and has a unique motion setting feature. Disclaimer: I also have Bose noise-canceling earbuds. I use these when I need noise cancellation, such as on an airplane or busy spot where I want quiet and full sound immersion. If you want noise cancellation, these will not meet your needs. Sound quality comparison to other earbuds is fully satisfactory for the places and times when I am using these. I have seen some say the bass isn't as good as others, but I think enough bass is a personal preference. As I mentioned above, I am lucky enough also to have noise-cancellation earbuds, and they do have awesome bass, but these are just fine. Worth $299? For me, yes, these will be my go-to buds 90% of the time because they are comfortable and don't fall out. I am tired of earbuds popping out of my ears at the gym. These have solved my biggest gripes with earbuds. I highly recommend and appreciate the ingenuity of these earbuds.

I love the battery life on these . These are comfortable and i can wear them all day , I can even sleep with them . The downside is talking on the phone is super low and the microphone isnt great . People said I sounded low . My boyfriend got a pair and we tested with calls together. We both kinda sounded like robots or like we were talking into a can . He loved the immerse sound for the music so he kept his . I also did not like the style , i looked like inhad on hearing aids or earings in white . Overall i liked these but not for $300 . Call quality is poor and low . I returned them in the end I will only ever buy them again for no more than $100 bucks

The Bose Open Air Earbuds deliver impressive sound quality in an open-ear design that feels natural and comfortable throughout the day. The audio is clear and full, with music, podcasts, and calls all sounding much better than expected for this style of earbud. These actually surpassed what was expected when looking for great sound quality in open-air earbuds, and have been very impressive overall. Comfort is a standout feature — they rest lightly on the ears without putting pressure in the ear canal, so they are easy to wear for long periods without fatigue. They stay secure during movement while still feeling barely there, which makes them great for everyday use. They have also worked well for gaming, music, and general media. For casual and story-based games, sound is immersive enough to enjoy what is happening on screen while still being aware of the surroundings, and switching between gaming, music, and videos feels seamless. Battery life has matched what was advertised, making them a reliable choice for all-day use. Overall, these earbuds combine great sound, comfort, and versatility in a very impressive package

The Bose Ultra Open Earbuds deliver impressive sound quality with a unique open-ear design that keeps you aware of your surroundings while still enjoying rich, clear audio. The earbuds are lightweight, comfortable, and perfect for long listening sessions or workouts. Bose also does a great job with call quality and overall premium build quality. For open ear headphones, I love these. They are super light, I usually forget I have them on. The sound quality is great once you tweak the EQ with the Bose App. Out of the box they are lacking in bass. I love that I can hear everything around me and my music effortlessly and people around me cannot hear anything unless they are 75% volume or higher which they never need to be. These are better than bone conduction headphones like AfterShokz because those usually pressing into my head gave me a headache after too long. The Case is still small enough to fit in the "watch" pocket of your jeans. I love them. These will be useless on a plane. I was going to do 4 stars because they can't be used on a plane, but that's not why I bought them. I bought them because my airpod Pro's were starting to get uncomfortable being in my ears all the time. These are amazing and I love using them every day, literally on here back at BBY.com to buy my wife a pair.

Fantastic earbuds, they work exactly as they are should. I wear these for work which involves exiting a cargo van 180+ times a day and running from dogs and have never had the earbuds fall-off. I regularly go 8 hours without ever adjusting the earbuds or even noticing they're there. I was cautious when I purchased them because many reviews claimed they were quiet and provided poor audio quality. Those people are wearing the earbuds incorrectly, ignore them, the earbuds sound great. They will never be as immersive as a pair of in-ear buds but that's not what these are. These are so you can listen to quality sound while staying aware of your surroundings. Theyre only flaw is that they disconnect occasionally but I'm really hoping a software update will fix that

I have different needs for headsets depending on what listening or speaking experience I am seeking. When I need to be aware of my surroundings but am not in a loud environment, I prefer to use open-ear style headphones. Thus, I was eager to try out Ultra Open Earbuds by Bose. I like open-ear style headphones for conference calls or while on calls in my car, but have been unhappy with the lack of fullness when listening to music and that bass is almost non-existent. However, with these Ultra Open Earbuds, I was pleasantly surprised with how much bass there was. The immersive audio experience was one of the best of all of my headphones, and the best of my open-ear style headphones. Unfortunately the battery life was diminished when the immersive audio was active, and environmental noise had a greater impact on hearing music. I like that Bose chose to use physical button controls, since many of the touch controls on headphones are not very responsive. The ear cuff design is comfortable and was great to wear for long periods of time. These would be great for anyone with small ears where earbuds may not fit or cause a lot of pressure and pain (see photos). The biggest negatives of this headset are an odd resonance sound heard by the phone call receivers and no multi-source use for Bluetooth to date. A few people I spoke with on the phone reported my voice was clear but had an odd, echoey sound, as if I was in an empty room. I would use a different design if I were looking for audiophile sound, wanted crystal clear calls on both ends, or was in a noisy environment. Pros Best bass for open ear design Button controls Great immersive audio experience Comfortable to wear for long periods Cons Receiver hears resonance No multi-source at once for now Not good for loud environments Overall, I would recommend these headphones. The design works well for many ear types and the music sounds great.

      Hello,

Thank you for sharing your experience with the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds.

I am happy to hear that you love their design, immersive audio and comfort, but sorry you are not fully satisfied of them during calls or in certain environments.

If you are still having this issue during a call, please try to place a new call after resetting the earbuds, following these steps: https://support.bose.com/s/display-articles?productId=01t8c00000OlcI5AAJ&articleId=ka08c000001bufcAAA&language=en_US

Also, by design, the open earbuds don’t block out the noises around you or have noise cancellation. They do have an automatic volume control feature, accessible in the Bose Music app, that helps you hear your music evenly as your environment changes from quiet to loud and back. But in very noisy environments where noise cancelling is helpful, it is possible that the outside world could overrun the content playing.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our support team: https://bose.life/contact

I LOVE these earbuds. Truly. They just know their lane, and that lane is not work calls. First, let’s talk comfort: 10/10. These don’t go inside your ear, so no soreness, no pressure, and no gross “why do my ears feel greasy?” feeling after wearing them all day. I forget I’m wearing them, which is exactly what I want. I also love that I can stay aware of my surroundings. I can hear what’s going on around me while still listening to music, podcasts, or lectures, which makes them perfect for everyday use! Sound quality for music and casual listening is excellent. I use these paired with my iPhone and iPad daily and for class, where I’m mostly listening in, and they’ve been fantastic. Now for the reality check: these are not great for work phone calls or Teams meetings. I ran into issues using them for both audio and microphone at the same time and had to use a separate mic device. If you need a work headset, this is not it! That’s where my Shokz OpenComm come in, those are my workhorses for calls and meetings. These Bose? They’re my everyday, comfort-first, music-loving, ears-deserve-better earbuds. Bottom line: • Bose Ultra Open-Ear = amazing for music, comfort, awareness • Shokz OpenComm = built for work calls and productivity Different tools. Different jobs. I’m keeping both!

The “open ear” design of these headphones is great even if it takes a bit of getting used to. Bought these as an alternative to in-ear headphones as I always have issues with either pain or headphone falling off just walking or if i try to work out in them. Theyre very light when you have them on and they sound good. It takes time to find the best way to put them on your ear to reduce the amount of fatigue you feel on your ears while also being able to PROPERLY hear the sound. Its easy to put them on wrong. Itll probably take some time to get used to the feeling of having them on and itll probably hurt a bit after a few hours at the start but I use them for about 6-12 hours a day at work (healthcare) and I hardly notice theyre on anymore. My big issue with these headphones is the price point. I got mine on open box + clearance/sale for about $160 and i would say that thats a much better price point. $200 is fine but $300 is a bit steep. Even if its a standard price for “higher end” earbuds. They did have a no audio issues that was solves by factory resetting the headphones.

There are many options out there for headphones. Those options are usually of some similar design that often has limited users feeling closed off from their surroundings. These new innovative Bose ultra open earbuds are very unique in that they don't insert into your ears, yet they clip on them. This design is supposed to allow you the ability to hear what's going around you while being discreet in the sense that no one else can hear your sound. Well they deliver on that promise! It took a few minutes to set-up and after having them in my hand for 5 days and putting them through their paces, I can say they are amazing. First once on ears and adjusted they fade away and i forget they are even there. They are very lightweight yet stay in place. I tested them while working out and handled a few intense workout sessions at the gym. I used them while on the bike and when running. While running they did shift a little bit under heavy sweating but other than that they were fine. The sound quality is the quality Bose sound you have come to expect from Bose. They produce crystal clear sounds from music and the phone calls i had. They actually worked really well in phone conversations and was discreet where no one else heard the conversation. Overall I am very pleased and would recommend these to anyone who is looking for discreet and lightweight earbuds.

Overall, these headphones are great quality product. I bought them for comfort and versatility. Headphones that go in your ear aren't comfortable to me, and I have a bigger pair of high end noise canceling headphones, but they are heavier and can get uncomfortable depending on the setting. These headphones are extremely comfortable and fit perfect. I barely feel them on my ear. They fit part of the versatility part of the equation. The battery charge is great, and switching devices with the button shortcuts also great. However, without noise cancelation, I can't use them in airports or airplanes, which is probably the best use case for them. Perhaps, if I sat in a cubicle or office setting they would be perfect, but without that, the best use versatile use case for me is my home theatre when I'm watching alone at night, or exercising in a quiet setting. Still a great quality product. For the $300 price tag, I want to be able to hear it in a loud setting while traveling. This maybe a misalignment of my expectation and what the market value is, but I'd rather pay more to have some sort of noise cancelation feature and be able to use them everywhere. If I had to choose just one, I'd stick with the higher end noise canceling headphones, as in the ear headphones don't work for me. If have the budget and enough of a use case to justify a second pair, and in the ear headphones are too uncomfortable, these are the perfect solution.
