The Bose Ultra Open Earbuds feature two microphones in each earbud, and wearing them properly can greatly improve call quality. Blocked microphones may cause poor sound quality for the listener on the other end of the call. Please ensure the microphones are not obstructed by headwear and that the earbuds are positioned correctly on each ear.

Also no one knows they are earbuds they just assume they are earings

Returning and getting Apple AirPods

Apple products only want to work well with Apple products. They do stay on my ear, super comfortable! But they disconnect every time, and when they die, no notification. They also suck when you’re outside, and trying to use them to talk on the phone. Majority of the time no one can hear you talking.

I am surprised you're having connectivity troubles though, and would recommend making sure you're not connecting to the LE (Low Energy) connection of the earbuds, there are other steps you can try here (https://bose.life/4byPsk5).
