Locking mechanism for the "head" was weak and the head would loosen up. When using the tripod when fully extended with the phone mounted, the surface you place it on must be perfectly level or the whole thing falls over. If it is so unbalanced wind may also topple it. Remote is a good idea.

Unstable, unusable

With the weight of an iPhone it tips over, and without even being a max height. So, buy this plus little sandbags to stabilize the legs. Or better yet, go with a different model!
