Both my daughters couldn't stay interested in this movie

Kids actually got up in the middle of the movie to go play in their room.

Ok movie. The kids did not like it 14 and 12. The story was bad.

I was so looking forward to this movie coming out because I really enjoyed Coraline and Paranorman but it didn't take long watching this movie that I began to realize that this movie truly sucks. I was very disappointed and regret spending the money on this movie that I did.

As many have noted, it's a fine family film. But too really get the most out of it, it MUST be seen in 3D! It's a totally different (and better) experience. Stop-motion animation really benefits from having 3 dimensions. Both characters and textures come alive...it's almost as if you are actually in the studio. If you own a 3D-capable set, be sure to get the 3D combo edition. You'll ve VERY glad you did. (I'm adding an extra star just for the effective 3D,.)

If you like watching stop motion movies, or clay-mation, you will really like this movie. It is pretty amazing. The story is a bit different, and some may not like it, but if you pay attention, you will really like the movie. It is much like Fantastic Mr Fox. Kids will not like this Movie.

The Boxtrolls is another gem in the small collection of Studio Laika films. I would put it somewhere between Paranorman and Coraline, but they are all equally great and hard to rank. Once again, the stop motion is fantastically captured and the 3D is very strong. I look forward to their next film.

I bought this for my kids thinking it was going to be absolutely ridiculous. I ended up loving it! I have always enjoyed the clay-motion pictures and this just added another level to it.

A great theme with life learning lessons for everyone.

A rather fun and enjoyable film. While not a classic I truly enjoyed this film .....the animation is superb and the Blu-ray transfer quality is well above average

This is a great movie to watch and enjoy with the whole family! It is up for an Oscar this year for best animated film!

After watching this at the movies I wanted to see it again. Good replayability. Fun to watch. Nothing else really like it.

Have not watched the movie myself, but my 6 yr old has watched it like 20 times in 2 weeks. He thinks it's great.

It captivated my grandson the entire length of the movie. He never even fidgeted. The rest of us enjoyed it as well.

The previews don't give you enough information to truly let you know what the story line is. Very good movie .

This is a very good 3D stop motion type effects movie. If like Paranorman or Coraline should like this.

Great family entertainment, lots of fun and it a little bit too scary, but kids loved this movie.
