Not for Horizontal Vent Mounts!

Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Installation is quick and easy, but quickly realized the horizontal orientation of the vents in my wife's van would be a problem. When you place the phone in the clamp mount, the weight pulls down on the ball-joint on the mount causing the phone to orient itself in such a way that it can't be viewed. With the all-plastic construction, if i tighten ball-joint any tighter, I will break the plastic. Definitely a product that will be returned!

This mount is designed to work with all types of vents, including horizontal! I would recommend placing the vent clips into the bottom-most vent bar, so that the mount can be supported at its base. It’s not the clumsiest clamp-on in the tool shed, but not a high achiever either. Keep expectations on the low and you’ll be pleasantly surprised!! ;)

Beware of the thickness of your phone. If it has a protective cover it may not fit into the grips. Also if your vent isn't strong enough, the weight of the phone will pull it down and you phone will be at an downward angle so you can't see te screen.
