Customers are saying

Customers enjoy the AutoGrip Clamp Mount's ease of use, reasonable price, compact size, and design. However, many customers reported issues with the mount's stability and ability to securely hold some phones, particularly smaller models or those with certain cases. Some also found it unsuitable for vent mounting. The phone compatibility is also a concern for some users.

    Mount not stable

I like the design of this holder that allows you to just slip the phone in from the top. This holder doesn't work well with my phone (iPhone 12) because it does not stay steady and in one place. The ball on the back rotates down so that the face of my phone is facing down. I adjust it to point up and then it will slip down again.

This phone holder will work better with the smaller phones. I have iPhone 14 Pro Max and this was too heavy. Item continued to come out of the vent.

Really easy to hang phone into grip. With pracixe it is easy to remove phone. Rack was just a little wobbly, but when tightened it was fine. My dash vent is locatrd conveniently. To allow good visibility of phone when in rack. Old car, new phone rack- great!

I’m really digging the fact that you don’t have to attach a sticker to your phone/case, nor pry it open to sit your phone inside it. It literally just drops into the holster. I will say that sometimes it does “fall” through at times but that’s only when rushing.

It worked very nice and it can hold the weight of the big phones. Only withdraw is you have to tighten the screws after awhile since they will get loose with the vibration of the vehicle.

It's a cool design. However, it feels a little flimsy. I don't expect it to last a year if Im lucky. It also does not work very well with round mounts. I have ro constantly rearrange the holder.

It will fit current phones right now. I have a iPhone 12 Pro and it sits well on it. If you use a thick case then phone will not rest properly on the bottom holder it'll just sit on top of it. A big disappointment is that it doesn't have enough of a tight grip on the air vent. If you like to drive hard and fist it will slip off on a turn or bounce off. I have had to hold onto it as I make a turn just so the phone doesn't fall. It's already fallen a couple of times on me. I have one of the older style spring hinge holders so I will swap it out for those.

Hi there, this is Kaleb with Bracketron. I'm sorry you had an issue getting the AutoGrip mount to stay in your vents. I highly recommend placing the mount clips into the bottom-most vent bar in your air vents so that it is supported at the bottom, and will not fall out. Please reach out to us at [email protected] should your issue persist or if you have further questions and we will come to a solution with you! Thanks, Bracketron Support Bracketron

I really like the size of this holder and how it works, but on horizontal slats there needs to be a small support to rest on the vent edge to give it some extra vertical support/stability.

I needed a quick phone holder while driving around town. I decided to get this little bad boy for $15 instead of opting in and getting the other car phone holders for $30 and above. Let's just say you get what you pay for. It sometimes likes to come off it's hinge while pulling your phone off. Also a fair warning to those with phones with OTTER boxes, DO NOT buy this product if you have an OTTER box. Because it wil not fit. I had to take my case off in order for it to fit my phone properly. Now if you're rocking a small thin phone case then this will work just fine for you. Also you will need to find just the right spot on your car AC vent for this little bad boy to hold on properly. In the end you're better off buying the $30 products don't skip out.

    Clip doesn't stay put

The design concept makes sense and works. But, 2 issues: 1) The back clip is not long enough, or maybe strong enough to stay on the fins of the AC and with a modern smartphone just falls off. 2) The other issue is design doesn't allow the unit to support some of its weight on the car - and, this could be due to #1, but it just falls off the fins when it wants to. I bought it because this holder opens up wide. But, my phone spends more time on the floor of the car than on the dash.

Hi there, thanks for your feedback. In other cases, customers have had luck by placing the vent clips into the bottom-most vent bar in your vehicle. This should support the mount at its base and ensure it does not fall off at all. If this doesn't work for you, please contact us at [email protected] and we would be happy to assist you further. Thanks! Bracketron Support Bracketron

Nice. I wanted something to hold my cell phone that only requires one hand to use. I also wanted something easily portable. And it had to be cheap. But work. This accomplishes all that. It's a simple scissor-mechanism that brings the sides in, when the bottom is drawn down (when you place your phone in it). The rubber holds onto the air vent sufficiently. The whole thing is simple, and since i's actually lightweight metal, I think will last longer than plastic. I would recommend this. The phone might be a tad wobbly if you touch it, but it won't come out.

Its an alright mount, I was personally having trouble with it staying in place and not getting thrown off my vents. Maybe it was because of the size of the vent slats or the mount clip but it wasn't great for me. Maybe it'd be different for a different car. It can get the job done with a tad bit of frustration.

I found difficulty with this unit remaining stable Within the air vents that are meant to contain it. The capacity to hold the phone securely with n the structure was difficult while the phone was in the case because the bottom bracket it's too thin. Most phones are in cases to prevent damage to be actual unit, this product would be nice for a phone that does not have a case. Not suitable for my needs because I don't want to have to remove my phone from the case in order to fit it inside of the product each time I want to use it.

This fits the Toyota Avalon vent where several others I tried were too big for the small vent opening . Took away a star for not being super sturdy. - I used it for iPhone 12 mini and 13 mini, not a heavy phone. It would droop with more weight. Won't fit the phone if you have a pop socket. It lasted me 3 years before the tightening ring plastic cracked and broke in half. So I bought another one.
