It expanded to fit snuggly in the cup holder and kept my iPhone 14 ProMax in place.

It falls over with the weight of the phone. I suggest using a drink "koozie" to get it to stay in place. Be aware of where the cup holder is in relationship to your gearshift. I can't use this in my Chevy Trailblazer because the shifter is in the way. The cupholder I could use is out my direct view while driving.

Regarding the base of the mount, have you tried rotating the ridged, circular piece so that the base of the mount becomes wider? This should allow you to fit the mount snugly into your cup holder and not need to use a koozie. ||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.While it adjusts to a snug fit in the cup holder in both my cars (Toyota RAV-4 and Buick Encore) it is not tall enough (and the "neck" cant be raised). So ... the phone (an iPhone SE - not particularly tall) drags on the edge of the cup holder, gets hung up on the handbrake, and there's no room for the power/Apple Play cord to fit on the bottom of the phone when it's in the holder

This mount was designed with a gap in the bottom where the iPhone charging port is, so you should be able to plug in while your device is in the mount. If this mount isn't the most compatible with your vehicle but you like the design, I'd highly recommend looking into the AutoGrip Magnet Mount or the AutoGrip Clamp Mount on Best Buy. Although the issues with using this product is the only way to use it properly is to not have any type of case on the phone. The lack of a locking mechanism doesn’t allow for the phone to always be held properly. Lastly the mechanism doesn’t rotate so the phone can only be used in portrait mode.

I would plug it in and leave it on the seat next to me. Now I can set it in this cupholder and not worry about it flying out of there if I brake or turn. Super easy to put in and take out as needed. Super sturdy.

Make sure you are twisting the circular piece on the mount base which extends the arms in order to fit larger cup holders. This should allow your mount to fit tight and secure inside the cup holder!
