The adhesive should be strong enough so that you are able to remove your device from the magnets without removing the mount from your dash. Before applying the mount, be sure to clean off the dash and the suction cup with water to ensure there is no residue blocking the suction. Dangerous and ineffective- do not buy!

The suction base popped off the car front repeatedly, causing the entire device and my phone to fall to the floor while I was driving. The swivel arm moved with the motion of the car, causing the phone to move too. And the magnet did not hold the phone; I stopped counting after the tenth time my phone fell off the magnetic base while I was driving. In the end I stopped at a roadside store and purchased a different car phone mount ( the IHip car air vent holder) which cost half the price and kept my phone in place for the rest of my trip.
