I would suggest placing the mount all the way into the bottom-most area of the air vents so that it is supported at its base. In case your vehicle is not compatible with vent mounts, please also consider Bracketron's other mount applications such as dashboard, windshield, cup holder and CD Slot mounts which can be great replacements. To adjust this mount to fit your device perfectly, make sure you use the lever on the bottom of the mount. This will widen and narrow the clamps on the mount in order to find the perfect width for your phone. Then, you can place your phone in the mount and remove it without having to move the lever again. It will tilt down and away, and there isn't a way to adjust it so that it will tighten to a proper viewing angle.

There is a circular, ridged piece on the back of the mount which will tighten and loosen. Turn this counter clockwise to loosen, adjust the mount to the preferred position, and then tighten the circular piece by turning clockwise. This will ensure it stays in the position you prefer. There is a lever on the mount that can be adjusted to a precise position so that your phone can easily be clicked in place and pulled out without adjusting the lever again.
